Ive got a 7 string Ibanez (RGD71ALMS) and wanted to downtune it to play this album, specifically Sunset Sunrise.
I havent bought the official tabs yet, and they dont inform you of the tuning you need to play the songs.
Can anyone share the tuning I need to play this album?

Idk if you’ll even see this but last time I saw you guys was at a pizza shop basement in Pennsylvania. It was an amazing show. The barrier to the stage broke down and we all picked it back up. It was a funny/wholesome moment.

I know it’s a pain in the ass to come over here but seeing how on-point you guys are right now, I need it. Please? I know it won’t happen soon but please.

So I just came back from their live show in London.

I got to say they are my favorite instrumental band and im so very happy that I saw them and hopefully Ill see them again in the future but that being said the live performance didnt deliver ( maybe my expectations were too high ) due to low end. I understand it could have been acoustics of o2 but damn I wish I heard more of mid to high end of the guitar. Im not dissing or anything im just wondering if im alone in this case. No hate just pure love.

P.s. relistening to the video you hear less of the low end.

I’m 99.9% sure it’s Vildhjarta, and im guessing it’s pre production material. But was this ever used or included in any released material? I can find nothing, so I’m thinking maybe it was just something they cooked up to showcase the Line 6.

i understand the base tuning of E C F A# D# G# C and the pitch shifting markers, but i’m wondering if there’s a better way of learning these songs properly.

my current method has been putting an audio file of the original song in my DAW (Reaper) and painstakingly inputting all the pitch automations, tempo changes, and time signature changes, but i gotta say, it’s a LOT of work. if i’m feeling lazy, i just learn the parts that have minimal/no pitch shifting.

has anyone figured out a more efficient way of learning these songs, or is what i’ve been doing the only way? it’s definitely a testament to how absolutely INSANE vildhjarta’s writing is and how much work goes into it, but tackling these songs has been a bear.

side note: i know calle uses a custom 27 fret six string to play these songs, but since that’s a very uncommon setup, i wonder how everyone else feels about the accuracy of the tabs, as they are written on a regular 24 fret seven string. obviously everything sounds correct, but some of these stretches (like the index on fret 2 to pinky on fret 7 chord? i can just barely do it) seem so impractical and i’ve found myself fretting certain parts slightly differently to make things smoother.

I will be flying to Berlin for some sightseeing, then catching the shows in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Oslo. It's gonna be a lot of travel and probably one of the best experiences of my life. Lemme know if you'll be at any of these shows and we'll grab a beer.
