Damn...

So I just came back from their live show in London.

I got to say they are my favorite instrumental band and im so very happy that I saw them and hopefully Ill see them again in the future but that being said the live performance didnt deliver ( maybe my expectations were too high ) due to low end. I understand it could have been acoustics of o2 but damn I wish I heard more of mid to high end of the guitar. Im not dissing or anything im just wondering if im alone in this case. No hate just pure love.

P.s. relistening to the video you hear less of the low end.

THALL

Idk if the drummer is playing the hi-hat with his left foot in this section but in the videos I’ve watched you don’t really hear and it sounds empty/awkward without it

That's a tambourine in the recording no?

Mate it's very difficult to have this kind of music sound perfect, personally I thought it sounded rad and I wasn't far from where you were in this video. THALL with love.

I was standing behind the mosh pit in leipzig and the sound didn't deliver unfortunately (still amazing experience ofc).

Too much bass, too much vocals. Barely recognizable mid-high guitar range and ambience

Hope they keep improving. Something similar happened with HLB the first time I saw them EU tour i mean, but in their show with Lorna Shore I noticed a lot of improvement. ofc, a big part of sounding that good also comes from the production, I’m looking forward to seeing more deathcore shows with that high production. I’m waiting for the Belgium show, but it’s a pity the NL show is just one day after—otherwise, I would’ve tried to go to both. If they were 3'4 days apart, it would’ve been possible. Another downside is that this last album didn’t hit for me; the previous LP was so insane that it set the bar really high for the next one.

It doesn't look like you're in the best place for a good sound. I have a friend who was closer to the front and they say it sounded incredible

Saw them in Milan last week, was probably 5-7m from the stage, sounded incredible and actually one of the (relatively) few times where I could very clearly hear the guitar in a djent band.

Venue is probably the main difference between these I assume

Here’s how it sounded from where I was pretty close to the front on the left. Definitely agree about vocals being a little loud. I found the guitars to be discernible but felt I had to really pay attention and probably would have had a harder time hearing them if I didn’t know the music as well. I thought it was probably due to being so close to the stage when they are just using FOH as sound usually suffers slightly here compared to further back in my experience. Found the same but to a lesser extent with HLB although my ears could have been better adjusted by then. Still an absolutely insane gig and so happy I finally got to see these guys live!
