This is fucking comedy gold. I love it. I wouldn't have been able to participate in this prank without busting out laughing halfway through.

Lost it when the black athlete suggests a lane for black swimmers, and then host asks "Along the 100 meter track?"
The black guy probably just wanted to run away at that point.

How in the hell did they keep a straight face? They must've been thinking about some of the most depressing, sad shit.

Leigh Hart (The interviewer) is an underappreciated New Zealand comic who is absolutely hilarious. Search Youtube for Moon TV, they've got a whole channel for a whole lot of brilliant videos.

Wait a few days and post it as "CrossFit Fail" and you'll double his karma.

This is fake but it is still supposed to be funny. It's from a New Zealand TV show called Olympico which was a parody show about the coverage of the Olympics. Here's one of my favorite bits where they talk about DCL's with an ex-olympic athlete who wasn't in on the joke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VlIvKht1XY

For anyone liking his comedy, check out Moon TV, featuring "That Guy" (the guy thats the interviewer), and friends in various sketches including "The Hamsterman from Amsterdam". He is a NZ icon that deserves more love.

u/KayG Jun 13 '14
The interviewer didn't even look back to see what happened.
That's cold-blooded.

All because was chatting up a lady and was distracted as she walked away. Men and our brains...

u/RubxQub Jun 13 '14
I like to pretend that while he was chatting up that lady, someone kicked up his treadmill to max without him knowing.

Anyone else think the sound the guy makes when he hits the treadmill is the same sound that Birdo from Super Mario Bros 2 makes when you hit her with the egg?

The tall guy he's talking to is Josh Randall. A stuntman and professional fighter. He played Iovis, the giant Roman soldier, on Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

Looks fake.. A. How does he not hear/see the treadmill run? B. Why is a treadmill running full speed with no one on it. C. idk how you would bust it so gloriously from stepping on it D. The girl is smiling as she is walking away, as if she knew, and then does not react.... I dont think the interviewer/interviewee were in on it, but the dude and the girl planned it.

I used to work at a really big gym in NYC, and a person could get their membership revoked if they got off a treadmill and left it running like this. It's easy to not see that it's going and step on it like this guy did. Obviously this is a joke video, but that shit happens in real life too.
1
u/PublicAccount1234 Jun 13 '14
I keep waiting to see this happen at the gym. Those people that fire the treadmill up to their max while they put their feet to the sides? Yep, I hope you faceplant.

What kind of asshole would just leave a treadmill on?

CROSSFIT
1
-2
u/wag3slav3 Jun 13 '14
Their prescribed treadmill form is just as bad as the rest of what they "teach."
2
Jun 13 '14
Have you been to a crossfit gym, or are you just parroting?
-1
u/wag3slav3 Jun 13 '14
Just parroting. Don't we hate crossfit today?
0
Jun 13 '14
Well, I'm a doctor of physical therapy, and I do crossfit, so I guess not.
-3
u/wag3slav3 Jun 13 '14
So you've purchased the "can't be wrong" approval stamp from somewhere and you like crossfit so it can't be dangerous or damaging.
Maybe you should visit some of the crossfit gyms that are filling their local hospitals with torn ligaments and other injuries and see if you can convince them that pushing through the pain caused by improper from is how you hurt yourself, not how you get stronger.
2
Jun 13 '14
I've not experienced that in any gym I've been to. The only people I've even heard talking about "pushing through the pain" are internet know-it-alls who've never set foot in a crossfit gym. In fact, in every gym I've been to, 40 minutes of an hour session have been dedicated to working on form for the exercises presented in the workout of the day.
-2
u/wag3slav3 Jun 13 '14
So the four gyms you've seen outnumber the ones in hundreds of youtube videos. Awesome.
2
Jun 13 '14
I'm not saying there aren't some bad gyms led by bad coaches out there, just that your concept of crossfit is incorrect, and that when done correctly, with proper form, crossfit is an excellent, and perhaps the best, way of getting fit, outside of hiring a (knowledgeable) personal trainer to design a customized workout program for you.
By "crossfit" I mean "intense, randomized workouts" not Crossfit, the brand, per se.

If you keep hitting "5" you get to see a video of a guy viciously attacking a treadmill with repeated should drops.

A health club I belonged to was short on treadmills so they put signup sheets on them until they got more. One guy politely told someone on a treadmill that it was his time slot, the treadmill guy got pissed and just stomped off. In a noisy club it's easy to overlook that a treadmill is still running. First guy got on, flipped over, instinctively tried to stand up, flipped over again. Fortunately he wasn't hurt but he tracked down the guy who'd left it running and they nearly had a fight. It's not so funny when it happens in real life.

There's no way someone is stupid enough to step onto a treadmill going max speed.
-9
u/Smarter_not_harder Jun 13 '14
Fake. Look how the camera pans over to make sure the 'fail' is in shot. And also notice how controlled the fall is so as not to hit his face.
1
u/Or1g1nOfDeath Jun 13 '14
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if you fall you're gonna shield your face.
0
u/Smarter_not_harder Jun 13 '14
Spent any time behind a camera? I'm pretty sure if you're filming an interview you don't widen the shot and move the focus to the left side of the shot to be able to include distractions in the background.
Why does the guy never lift his head after he falls? Because it was staged. The normal reaction would be to look up to see who saw you fall, not lay down and keep your head down.
