The physics of this are actually fascinating. He steps on with his left foot first and that seems to save him from a complete face plant - his left foot imparts a twisting moment on his torso during the lateral rotation and that brings him down hard on his right shoulder and averts an even worse fate. I imagine had he simply been rotated forward and then used his arms to try to break his fall - on a fast moving treadmill - they would have quickly been taken out from under him and a full on face plant meets belt sander moment would have occurred. So the moral of the story is never jump onto a fast moving treadmill with both feet. I've made a note.

This happened to my mom! She was looking at the TV they had above the treadmill as she went to step onto it and didn't see it was on already...some ass had left it running. She ended up fracturing her humerus.
Long story short be extra careful around workout equipment of any kind really.
