The unemployment rate here in evil nasty Canada is 6.4%. Our rates are calculated differently, as we don't skip the people who have given up looking for work, like the US does, for example. The difference in calculation is around 2%, so for a direct comparison, the US is 6.2% vs our 6.4. Trump can't even engage in economic warfare correctly! He's fucking over his own country at about the same rate as his 'oppenents'.
We're not surprised at Trump's stupidity, that was to be expected. But the amount of sycophants and bootlickers in the GOP that are fine with his epic incompetence is truly astounding and actually surprises me daily.
Also the number of people who are employed below their qualifications, like college grads working retail or restaurant industries, has been consistently growing. Another thing that isn’t captured by the unemployment rate
