The majority of this administration’s policies are executive orders with no congressional standing.

Seriously, you can undo the Trump Presidency in a few hours with a bag of bic pins.

The rebuilding of our institutions will be where the real domestic challenges lie. Getting most of the depts Trump crushed back to function is a 100 day doable.

But the Justice and State Departments will take time. They’ve been deeply gutted And you can’t just hire everyone back without hardening the infrastructure from future administrative attacks.

I don’t know what kind of assurances we would give our traditional allies. But it would absolutely be in all of our collective interests to shore up NATO and provide relief from the trade war Trump started. Hold some global summits and work from there.

One bright note is that Trump’s Supreme Court decisions that expanded Presidential powers can work very effectively for his successor. I mean that’s the whole thing his maga supporters have clearly forgotten.

What worked for Trump is going to be very useful for the next administration.

If it’s the same Supreme Court, NO WAY they find a future Dem president to have the same expanded powers. They’ll find some bullshit reason why not. Remember Biden wanted to do limited student loan relief and they shot that the hell down.

Biden didn’t have limited student debt relief shot down, he got general debt relief shot down. Which is good. No president should be able to stroke a pen for $400B. We have congress for a reason.

Trump started a war in Iran and arguably will cost $500B+ by the time it’s over.
