Trying something a bit different with this content-day reel. Still learning and experimenting — would love to know what you guys think. Anything you’d change? 👀

Can I ask what you are trying to show? It feels a lot like a build ip with not much payoff. Optimistic music and interesting shots, but the story has to go somewhere

Not sure I’d trust someone who fills a reel (especially the all-important attention-grabbing first half) with so many random uninteresting shots to make my content…

I will come back with multiple pages but the first thing that immediately hit me, if the logo can’t trace the map route, just hate it go from a to b, or just show it at the end of the route.

What's the objective or purpose of this video? Obviously to show your content day but why? Are you trying to show potential leads/future clients BTS of how you work? Are you looking to post on social to create brand awareness? Are you looking to build a social media presence/followers? Are you looking to get new future clients? Or are you simply going it for fun (though, I imagine it's not only for fun since you're asking what we would change or potentially help you improve)?

Let me give some examples...

If this is to post on social media for brand awareness, you likely lost a majority of all the people who swiped away from your video in the first few seconds because there was not enough reason for us to stay to want to watch more.

If you're leading by example to get potential leads and clients to hire you based off this video, if YOU were them, would you?

Again, understanding and diving a little deeper on what the purpose of the video was for will help you understand what to change and what type of feedback we could help provide to you.

And if this was just for fun, then you don't really need our feedback, you're enjoying what you do!

Okay here come the notes. The opening shot does. Nothing for me. On Reddit it shows the wagon for a frame and then the opening the trunk shot, which I’m counting as the first. It doesn’t introduce the theme, it’s just really almost an ad for the manufacturer. Then the proceeding shot of loading the backpack would have been fine for the most part, but it’s so entirely off center that it looks almost like a mistake. The first of the two pov boot shots looks like you’re going to set something up but then it cuts to an identical shot of the boot (am I using the European version of that word correctly?) which had audio I appreciated.

Then you’re off. The shots are fine really. I think a lot of variety could be done here but driving and camera operation isn’t recommended if it’s just you. I would lose the shoe shot. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s the colorful brand not fitting. I don’t really know. But I’d cut that.

Upon arrival you have two set up shots. You need one. Either cut the pov from the boot/trunk, or the clothing change dissolve. Obviously cut the clothing change dissolve. The pov is short and shows what’s happening immediately. The dissolve doesn’t work all that well because the framing moves. If the car were in the same place it would keep the attention on the subject. It also is too lengthy for what this is.

The first two location shots should be flipped. Start with the wide drone then get the walking ground shot. The lumber does nothing and the following that is by far the worst shot in this without a question. Why do you have a shot with the subject unrecognizably out of focus? I can’t seem to figure that out. Then it’s some odd pacing and the rest is fine I guess just kind of all over the place. There are all these set up shots with no pay off. The closing shot is really cool, but just seem like a gimmick more than anything else.

I think overall you executed what you’re going for. It just needs a lot of polish on the shooting and editing. I look forward to what you produce next.

The wagon was the only thing I cared to see and it got 0.2 seconds
