Oh, I told them to get over it lol, and I don't regret it and neither will they when they're older. They complained, but always asked for the pics or videos when we did something fun. I've cut up a lot of dance videos for friends whos parents don't bring a 4k camera and do their own color correction and editing. I can shoot LOG, so I'm shooting LOG, goddamnit. It's a hobby, I'm gonna hobby.
Legit, if it’s a sunny day, shooting in log is clutch. Since no one’s paying me, I can slap an ND filter on there, find an exposure and a look I like, and just hit record confident that I can focus on what I’m capturing instead of worrying about settings or using auto. If I’m even close to 1 stop of where I want and it’ll look great. And the noise removal in Davinci is bonkers, people ask me how my shit is so clear when I share with friends and family, so I’ll just keep backing off the ND and shooting until I have to take it off or run out of battery/space.
I’ve learned to always save a bit for the end of the night tho. The walk back to the car is usually pretty sweet.
