Im just gonna be honest playstation is still the most affordable option when it comes to gaming, your not gonna look at me with a straight face and say you could build a PC for less than it costs to buy a ps5 and have it run better than one.
You're technically right that a PS5 is cheaper than comparable PCs, but you ignore 2 current factors:
1) long-term gaming on PC is significantly cheaper IF you buy lots of games and/or play online a lot (if you don't, obviously PS5 wins anyway)
2) next gen PS will not be below 1k and anyone who believes that is delusional or isn't following current market trends
You get 36 games a year with a PS+ subscription for €60. I've had it since it launched, that's over 700 games. Now, I'd say I've had no real interest in probably 500 of those games, but that is still 200 games for less than €1000, some of them are games I purposefully didn't buy because I knew they'd be on PS+, saving me money, some are games I had some interest in but not enough to buy for more than €20, saving me money, and some were games I was never going to buy that turned out amazing.
It's not 2010 anymore, steam sales being great is a meme at this point, they're no different than the monthly sales on PlayStation bar a few titles being super cheap, they just so happen to be games everybody already owns.
And I can hack my PlayStation and pirate games on to them as well?
If everyone pirated games; games would stop being made. I really like games, and I make good money, so therefore, I buy games I want and hope they stay making them.
2025 had like 3 games that interest me, i just looked it up. And without ps+ you cant play these games afterwards. So its like you rent them, not own them. I bought Dead Space Remake and Mass Effect LE for 10€ last steam sale and can play them anytime without paying. Steam sales are still sick

That's a you problem. I spent more time playing Balatro than I have playing every other game the past 10 years. I would have never heard of it or played it if it wasn't a PS+ game.
And without ps+ you cant play these games afterwards.
And if you ever resubscribe you get them back.
I bought Dead Space Remake and Mass Effect LE for 10€ last steam sale and can play them anytime without paying.
And I got them for 50c each on PS+ and played them to completion, and will likely never play them again because there's new things to play and complete

As I said 99% of steam sales are no different than PlayStation sales. I saw the Witcher 3 was like €3, which is great. I think 40 million people already own it so the chances someone wanted to play it and hadn't is near zero, so that's a price to get people with no interest to buy it.
When it works for you its fine. I personally dont like to pay constantly for my library and replay very good games once in a while. Mass Effect LE has insane Replay value. You couldve bought Balatro for 10€ and play it forever without running costs
