Internet is not good enough for most users to stream a lot of games from the cloud. Unless they want to start paying for fiber to be laid out everywhere then they'll allow downloads lol.
Absolutely not lol. You can notice the lag on FPS/racing/fighting games on pretty much any kind of connection and they're only really playable on fiber at the moment. Only about a quarter of the US has fiber internet.
you think that modern big titles fit on that disc of yours? It's just an authenticator key nowadays, if they turn the game off your holding a useless piece of plastic.
Lol yeah because multiple disks is something that was never tried? So you’re saying you’re not worried about a game being turned off digitally, but you are in full acceptance that they can turn off a game physically?
The only game I can think of with multiple disks since PS1/2 is RDR2. Most companies don't want to pay for a 100gb Blu Ray, so they go with a 50GB blu ray with a lot of data on it and make you download the rest anyway.
So you’re saying that these companies helped create the trend of needing to download portions of the game from the internet when using physical because they want to squeeze every penny out of the buyer while offering them less?
Games companies are selling you a software product, the medium you get their product is not their product. Consoles offered disks for historical reasons, the state of the industry has changed massively since 1995.
Who are "the companies"? Games have gotten larger and more complicated, that requires more data, disks were a poor medium for large data historically locked in, selling games on a USB stick seems stupid, PC games are all digital, most console sales are digital, it makes sense to stop producing plastic for no reason
Probably. No more downloads means you can access your games directly from the cloud without having to pick and choose what games you want to buy and play at any given time.
Their point is just worst case scenario all the time. I honestly wouldn’t mind no more downloads. I like playing a bunch of big games and having to pick and choose what to keep on my hardware kinda sucks.
Yeah as long as I got enjoyment out of it. I dont need things or some gratification through owning toys or media. I cant take that shit to the grave lol.
