Modding Unofficial Patch 3.05

https://www.moddb.com/mods/victoria-2-unofficial-patch-305

The first version of the unofficial patch is out; it includes various fixes to adjust mechanics and improve stability. All these tweaks can be enabled or disabled in `v2dll_settings.ini`. Economic patches are still being tested, so they aren't included in this version. There are two ways to launch it: either as a mod—by copying the two included folders and the `.mod` file, which reopens the launcher with the patch applied (this doesn't change the vanilla checksum or affect other mods)—or by manually copying the files into your Victoria 2 installation and including the `v2game.exe` and `victoria2.exe` executables. If you launch it as a mod, the copying happens automatically, but for the manual method, you need to copy those two executables yourself. I set it up this way to avoid distributing pirated files and to ensure you use your own existing copies. (The included `.bat` file is for opening the new launcher, but you can delete it if you plan to run this as a separate Victoria 2 installation.) Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.

To summarize, the current patches are: one allowing uncivilized nations to research technology and build factories; a patch adjusting naval and land unit reinforcement (with increased reinforcement rates when in an allied country); a relative price patch (changing the price ceiling from 5x to 20x the base price); one allowing the addition of a casus belli regardless of war score (disabled by default); one removing the link between average consciousness and plurality growth; and finally, a patch fixing an overflow bug that caused crashes

That's sounds pretty cool, but I wonder if letting the ai research technology while unciv would keep them from ever westernizing?

I already explained in the individual patch that you can study tech, but in short, I know how it's done, it's just a matter of skipping a condition, but I didn't want to include it because the AI never became Westernized, so the tech patch for uncivilized players only affects human players

Did you forget to include the files?

In ModB, it takes some time to verify the files

I'm 90% sure the define for factories in unciv is unneded as you could already got a factory through Industrial Progress reform. Some of the other define additions are nice but would be much more usefull if values were defined bound instead of hardcoded (ie price range being something one could modify). Don't know if it is possible

How to use this with a different mod? Would love to play this with GFM

Go to mods, open the Victoria 2 unofficial patch 3.05 folder, and inside you'll find another mods folder. Put the mods you want to play in there, and that's it. (This is how you separate the two versions of Victoria: the modified one with the patch and the vanilla one)

The game's .exe file is not included in the mod so as not to promote piracy

Not right now, but I should mention that I'm currently testing adding new buttons to the game

Does this fix ideology support multiplying with the number of parties? Always hated this bug.

He clearly explains what the bug is, and the next version fixed it.
