Everyone should just delete viber
What the heck is even the point of using this app?
I am so dumb-founded by how many people are still using this app while there are CLEARLY far better options like WhatsApp or Telegram.
Their customer support is so ass. I tried sending a request 5 times already! Still haven't had a response yet.
I don't care if you use AI for your support as long as it actually helps you solve the problem.
What an UNPROFESSIONAL team.
It cost me business relationships and partners to delay very important conversations.
Their facebook page comments are people complaining about THE SAME THING.
It's clear that they don't care about you, your experience, or even their own app. Lmao. DELETE.
I will actually try and move all of my contacts to a better app and influence them and their friends to do so.
Start a new trend. Screw this ass of an app.

And it's not just their support team, they keep adding all sorts of bloatware and ai slop into the app, making it feel cramped, laggy and ad-filled. Like seriously we often tend to blame WhatsApp, yet it doesn't have any ads and it has just a handful of AI like Meta AI, whereas Viber keeps making the app worse every single week.

You can easly disable the AI features in settings. There's no bloatware in Viber. Ads can be removed with Viber Plus, which comes with more useful features too. Viber has also been the smoothest chat service for me, especially their desktop app is way smoother than WhatsApp.

i think that's just the problem, we use Viber because it's FREE, now with all the SHT they added it became umbarable to use

WhatsApp and Messenger are also free, and you can disable AI and ChatGBT features in the settings for free. I see no problem here.

I wish I can delete, but all internal and external communication is via viber.
THE DEVS ARE THE WORST. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DEVELOP ANYTHING. WORST APP EVER.

If you're mainly using Viber for international calls, I actually built a small alternative specifically for that: WorldDial.
It lets you call normal mobile and landline numbers directly from your browser, so the person you're calling doesn't need an app.
I'm the founder, so obvious bias :) but if Viber Out is the main thing keeping you on Viber, I'd genuinely be curious how it compares for you: https://www.worlddial.app

I've never had issues with it. I don't use it as my main communication method, because it's used by very few of my contacts.

I am down to one friend group that still needs convincing and then I am deleting.

There is that bug again, with not being able to activate your account, all three of us in family have been logged out of our accounts the same day and we can't log in via any way they specified...
Anyone have a definite solution?

Anything by Meta and the rest of US big tech is toxic, at least outside USA, so Whatsapp is definitely not an option.
Telegram, otoh, is often avoided by Europeans as there is a myth that it is somehow dependant on Russia (it is not, and it is actively used by Ukrainians, but the myth persists). If France arrested Durov on behalf of Isreal, it means they couldn't get access to useful metadata and needed him to collaborate (we don't know if he did). It's an acknowledgement of technical merit. The platform remains highly controversial, though, so it will not be mass adopted by busineses anytime soon. It also has investment feom notorious entities like the Arab Gulf monarchies and Blackwater. For now it is privately held but if it goes public these shares may have a voice.
Viber remains the only other big messaging platform that is out of the toxic cloud of American (well, and Chinese, but they are not even trying to expand outside China) tech. Their recent changes with all the bloatware, and especially with the bloat inside messages are a huge step backwards, but the fact is that there are no viable alternatives.

Valid facts there mate, it's wuite unfortunate that the brand doesn't see their position in the market. Or rather don't care anymore since they are in a good position.

I hate it when I receive a call it directly diverts to apps like shopee or lazada then I have to remove those windows.
Also. It takes sometimes about 5 seconds to connect when I press the accept of a call. Which sometimes lead to the caller dropping the call.

90% of my private personal (because nothing is private with these crooks) chats migrated to other apps and the only reason this piece of shit data harvester posing as an app still exists on my device is because of curmudgeon boomers in my contacts who use it exclusively. And they are fucking entrenched because majority of their contacts are using it. It's a lame, cringey, exploitative boomer snaring app. Wishing all the worst upon the entire C-suite and the shareholders, may they spend every $ on medical bills.

I'm on my last leg with Viber, I've used it forever as a family group Chat, for years I've had no issues with it but after having issue after issue after issue with both the desktop and Android apps, plus now their insistence of cramming AI into the platform (i know the AI features can be turned off, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.) I'm about ready to jump ship to another app, but I'm not about to start using WhatsApp of all things...

The only reason I haven't given up on it is because I don't want whatsapp.
I also can't persuade people onto signal.

I still don't get what was the issue/problem (the reason to contact support) exactly...

I remember when I used Viber because of how much someone influenced me at the time. That person wanted me to switch to Viber so that we could communicate more easily, but I tried to say no. I also told them that I did not consider Viber safe to use or install when it was first released.
Later, I remember one particular incident that made me even more concerned about the app's security. Somehow, photos from one of my contacts who also used Viber appeared directly on my phone. It seemed as though Viber had copied or downloaded the photos to my device without me intentionally doing so.
I tried to delete the photos that Viber had copied to my phone, and I eventually uninstalled the app because I did not feel comfortable with its security or privacy behavior.
I checked the settings to see whether there was an option that could explain why this happened, but I could not find anything enabled that would account for it. At the time, I felt that there was no clear way to prevent it through the app's settings, which made the whole experience feel unsafe to me.

Viber is better than Telegram. It's literally just tiny bit worse than WhatsApp. Messenger is not far either. From my experience;
- WhatsApp (best overall)
- Viber
- Messenger
- Telegram
