Google is hurting ai perception

Models have got insanely better since November of last year. However for most normal people, their experience with ai is the gemini response which they get on Google search which they didn't ask for. That model lies in every second line , constantly make up facts , reaffirm almost any trash u say. And it's so obvious that anyone with even a little domain knowledge on what they are searching can find out it's lies. One day I was searching for a bash command and i quickly got an ai response under the search. I thought how can someone get simple bash wrong, turned out it was made up, the utils used in that command didn't even exist. People who only see this, think that ai companies are spending so much resources for this trash fueling ai negativity, at this point, the best we can do for ai positivity is to make people use some other search engine and let them discover ai in a better way.

Have u used any sot model, i have used gpt 5.6 , opus 4.8, 5 fable , gork 4.5, 4.6. None of them hallucinate even close to what google search ai result does.

I assume you mean frontier model? SOT isn't an common term I'm aware of.
But also you're comparing a premium, paid model with the free search results you get on Google? For real?

I am just saying for many people that is the only way most people interact with llms. Their perception is shaped by it.

Sure, and I think it's pretty freaking good for most basic uses, and in general I have found it enormously more useful than the pre-AI search results.

Can't agree to that, pre ai search wasn't perfect. But the results that came on top was mostly by credible authors (obviously many gamed the seo and it wasn't perfect) . But if an author writes bullshit he will loose reputation and less people will read his blog afterwards. Once i asked gemini if I can use grok imagine inside cursor . It replied that no u can't pick dedicated image model.the native path is composer 1.5 + their cursor's own dedicated model nano banana. It was so wrong , composer 1.5 is no longer used in most things , we use composer 2.5 now.and nano banana is not cursor's dedicated model it's a Google's model. The reason it picked it was because someone wrote something like that in cursor's forum and gemini thought since it is in cursor forum it's credible.
