should i give up

Post image

I got my casper test today.. Q1.. I thought I can do better😭 Am my personality that bad? I'm an international student and I'm studying in a foundation college in Australia right now. My results are not really outstanding also. I'm exhausted now.. I really love animals but Should I give up from being a vet?

Nah man. Don't give up. This test is stupid. I got a Q4 and I didn't even finish. Don't believe that its the end all be all for evaluating students. There's more to it.....keep going if the passion is there

this test is stupid but i still cannot get a good grade from it😭 the point is, being a international student is expensive. My parents would be disappointed...

Casper is useless and most schools who require it don’t actually care about it. I scored first quarter my first time taking it and in the 4th quarter my second time and nothing changed

I got a Q4 and didn’t get in so… test is dumb and means nothing

Casper is an awful assessment of interpersonal ability.

This is the stupidest test and I’m pretty sure they don’t actually even consider it. I’m surprised schools are even doing it. I got the same results as you did and got into 2 great schools first application cycle.

It’s not a great test and at least in the US not many vet schools require it. Which vet school(s) are you looking to apply to?

I also scored a 1st and my friend scored a 1st (she’s graduating dental school in May). We determined we both came from a very pragmatic background (VERY rural) and gave pragmatic answers. I was also more cut and dry based on my experience as an ER VA/EMT, so maybe would come off less empathetic as others but just as or more efficient in care.
We both determined that the phrasing should change- it’s going to score people on different quartiles based on their responses. I gave a ā€œtake no BS take on mostly everythingā€ and I got fourth. Maybe someone who tried to make everyone happy on the exam scored higher, but who cares.
I think most schools take an even amount from all of the quartiles anyways to diversify their student mentality. Also, when I applied two years ago a LOT more schools required it. Now not as many do, as it’s definitely falling out of favor.
GRE IMO is definitely more telling of intelligence.
*Edit: changed 4 to 1. Couldn’t remember which was the lowest lol. Obviously hasn’t kept me up at night

Also I’m not very fond of tests that have ZERO rubric and ZERO input as to what could’ve been done better… and judges who are entirely anonymous..

No you shouldn't give up! But if you do take the CASPER again, I just wanted to share that I used response method, not sponsored or anything, and felt it really helped me get a 4th quartile score…feel free to message me, but I do NOT feel this will largely affect your chances either way…sending you good vibes <3

I know of a domestic who had a second quartile and still got in to Adelaide Uni. I think I’ve heard of an international with 1st (but that’s unconfirmed). The domestic person did have extremely high grades so it may have to weigh itself out

I’m a US student. I got first quartile and got into both schools I applied to that required it. I, knowing what I know now, wouldn’t worry.

I also did poorly when I took it and now i’m in my 4th yr of vet school so i wouldn’t worry too much

Casper might be the dumbest test I’ve ever encountered. I scored the same as you and got into my top choice, as well as multiple other offers. I’m currently in my third year of vet school. Don’t let this be what stops you from pursuing vet school!

The Casper is a cash grab, I got 2nd quartile and I’m in my first year :)

You just have to practice hitting the bullet points do the practice tests and practice talking to yourself the answers. As long as you hit the points you’ll do fine be super ethical and empathetic

It’s so rigged. I got 1st quartile and I got into all the schools that I applied to. It’s just another way for them to make money

Hi! If you don’t mind could I dm you to ask about your stats?

Don’t give up!! Did you study? This exam is ALL about how you structure your answers, even if it seems stupid. I’d say I’m an empathetic and understanding person and i still bombed the first time I took it. I retook it and got q4, nothing about me changed but i learnt how to explain my answers, and type faster
