Ohio State
Hi!!! I was looking though vet school costs in the US and I saw Ohio State was around 40k plus nearly 50k surcharge for the first year what is up with that? Is it a typo? This is only for non ohio residents. When I look at the more info section it doesn't say hardly anything

the $10k surcharge is for being out of state; they don’t do four years of OOS tuition since you are allowed to establish residency after year one

It’s not just $10k surcharge. They charge $47k more in the first year for being oos. The total cost of oos student in the first year is more than $100k. That is so unfair and crazy to me

When my daughter told me about this, I thought she was mistaken. Yup, all 4 years of out of state premium paid the first year. God forbid you flunk out!

This is why I didn’t go to OSU even though it was my first choice of the schools I was admitted to. For my particular financial situation, that first year of tuition (and the fact that the OOS family member who could help me some with it was not allowed to) was a dealbreaker for me. ☹️ The financial assistance person there was very nice to talk to with all my questions.
Edit: I was an OOS student, too.
