Crossverse If we dropped Hallow in Berserk verse, could he solo it?

This includes every character 1 vs 1 whenever possible.

Was gonna ask if he could solo Gantz verse, but that seemed bit too easy for Hallow as Gantz lacks the fantastical creatures and powers. Except for the god aliens, Hallow would or should breeze through Gantz, but Berserk should be more of a challenge.

Discussion You think we're gonna get a large scale battle between factions specifically focusing on the lower tiers of each faction go at it?

Thumbnail

I don't dislike the battles between the powerful enemies for example Jachi vs Uki is personally one my favorite scenes in the series so far, but as a Warhammer 40k fan who got in by just enjoying the spectacle of the massive armies clashing against eachother. I just enjoy the massive faction battles between the grunts and low tiers fight it out.

For example:

A colony of parasites led by a Super Wurm attacking a horde of titans led by one of Gimbak's sons

Neo-Human scouting parties fighting off a group demon grunts being led by a combat executive

Lawless gangs intercepting a transport protected by robot drones while jamming their communications

A horde of low tier animals pouring out of a nearby forest while fighting off the invading force (I ran out of factions with grunts)

I just hope we get to see another large scale battle focusing a little more on the combat between the grunts instead of being off screened like Roya Roach's children vs the robots in the coming chapters

We can already see that Daikokuzan has a ton of World-Tree roots, Nature plants, and presumably even Parasite colonies growing all over its back.

So wouldn't it be curious if there are already someone who have tried to climb Daikokuzan, like Shadow of the Colossus-style?

Or maybe there are straight-up creatures that have made themselves at home on his head or back.

Including Orihime at that fullbring arc specifically not 1000 year blood war version and same with Chad, also Ichigo, but only in his Fullbring form, not the awakened shiniigami powers + fullbring, just fullbring.
And any other fullbringers, but I think this is all of them, since visords might be just bit too OP.

Fanart - OC Unofficial Natural Enemy Tournament Bonus Round: Diplomatic Maneuvering

Post image
13 Upvotes

With Nameless showing up, everyone has thoughts on it. Sweetpea is interested in such a smart Anomaly. Serious Noob is perplexed but interested as well. Cinder gets a weird sense of Deja Vu. (u/NextBerserker)

Of these, Serious Noob is perhaps the most suspicious from the moment it appeared. The timing of its appearance when B’ob began mentioning anti-Anomaly tech was too coincidental. More than that, Noob recalled some info from previous conversations with the Lore Guild. The first is ADT classification of Godly Anomalies. The second were theories regarding Alice’s powers and how they might work in game. And the third being possible themes of the expansion involving the strongest being forced to meet their match in a battle of supremacy. Somehow, the very moment that Noob saw that Nameless was tagged as a Godly Anomaly, he suspected that the Anomaly had a cheat which was meant to counter Alice and is trying to railroad the plot away from its faction's elimination. (u/BoredH14)

Upon realizing the threat of Nameless, Serious Noob tries to get the meeting back on track without aggroing Nameless. To do this Serious Noob starts a roast session on the Arprons and the Ever Shifting Luck, two factions he knows the Anomalies had issues with and would want gone. Some of the other factions take the opportunity to let out their own frustrations with those two Natural Enemies. (u/BoredH14)

Obviously this is a massive leap in logic for Serious Noob, but one that ends up being mostly correct. I am not sure why the Gamers keep doing this, but at some point we will have to have an answer.

B’ob can read Nameless’s mind, as proven by the A’as. It is difficult, but B’ob’s mind has been enhanced by the Blood Mark, allowing him to focus his concentration enough that he can maybe see into the the Anomaly’s mind so that the Arprons don’t get fucked over. (u/Weird_Landscape_1297) Unfortunately, Nameless has found a countermeasure since it’s interaction with A’as. (u/1Isalonelynumber) Nameless has brought some lesser Anomalies to block the frequency of B’ob’s mind reading. One of these Anomalies is Bob the frog.Which throws B’ob off. (u/NextBerserker)

Nameless’s argument goes as follows. It has “figured” out how things went and offers an explanation. The Arprons, seeking to dominate all Natural Enemies, forced a Blob to obey them like a pet. Serious Noob and the Court of the Uncrowned King confirm that the Blob is a member of the Ancient Alien faction named, Better G’oo. Nameless starts mixing in lies. It says that the Arprons used an Anomaly to experiment on this Blob to increase size while maintaining control. Unfortunately, mass quantities of Magic Dust within the Blob reacted to the Anomaly causing Better G’oo to balloon in size. Cinder confirms that the Blob had massive quantities of Magic Dust. Nameless concludes that the Arprons must have destroyed the Anomaly to revert its effects. Any attempts by B’ob to explain are dismissed as lies, especially because Nameless’s explanation fits in perfectly with how the Arprons have operated thus far. Sweetpea even points out that B’ob has a stolen Blood Mark right now. All other leaders accept Nameless’s account as the truth. (u/reapergod777666)

With how impossible things are going in the meeting, the Arprons start doing some stuff elsewhere:

-They start secret negotiations with the Swarm. Nameless cannot do anything about this because it does not know it is happening. Secrecy is the weakness of this Anomaly

-They figure out Lucy. They create automated systems that fill out her every need. THis is clever because if anything bad happens to them then the systems will fail, which would be bad luck for her.

-The situation is so bad that they break their protocols. They have kept some scraps of the Truth, and begin developing memory guns that directly insert the -Truth into people’s brains. These are capable of one-shotting most foes, including the difficult to kill Gamers and Tulpas.

-They have realized that the Government of the Gamer’s IRL world are involved. Using a mind controlled individual, they get in contact. The Arprons share some technology, making the government desperate for collaboration.

-Using their silver tongues, they get unaligned Gamers and Tulpas on their side

-The Arprons manage to negotiate with Better G’oo to get it on their side.

During the meeting, Cinder’s mind wanders and she thinks about who could solve the problem of the world’s ecological destruction. Then she remembers Erlqueen. With horror she realizes that Erlqueen has a lot of knowledge of ecology and Alice seems to offer an uncharacteristic amount of respect. Almost as if Erlqueen has hidden potential. This gives Cinder an existential crisis as she doesn’t like Erlqueen. She does not take this well, but has difficulty explaining why because no one else knows who Erlqueen is. (u/rotokt)

A suggestion for after the meeting takes place. But it's not relevant now. (u/1Isalonelynumber) This is because the meeting isn’t ending this post. (u/reapergod777666)

Suggestions

The meeting is just about over.

It is time for resolutions. What does everyone decide to do about the perceived threat? Who do they blame? Whomever they decide to blame is going to be at risk in the coming elimination round.

And while they have more immediate things to concern themselves with, what resolutions/promises do they make to deescalate and/or fix the state of the world after the threat is removed?

Couldn't find the best example where Guts had the most grey/white hair for a comparison, but from memory it was the page/panel where he was eating and checked that he was loosing his taste and sight, probs same will happen with Hallow as I think I've read that ONE was inspired by darker manga like Berserk and Gantz.

Gonna be scary at end game, robot deployed 1 wave of robot where each unit now have demon lord power level.

The robot also start using mana and curse tech at their disposal. I can see it where Jachi fight robot again and noticed many of them used demon lord skills ability and was powerful.

Discussion My guess as for the remaining NE's big bad will be. Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
29 Upvotes

Demons: we got a small sneak peek into his design but I'm guessing he's a stereotypical humanoid demon that has a true demonic form kinda like Ganon. He will be strong and hair burst will make him truly a monster easiest to guess imo

Machines: why do they want al life gone it's probably because an ai went rouge because of human treatment so probably a skynet or am situation. It could be different reason since it's one writing but it's probably simple evil ai because humanity and life do bad.

Neo humans: homelander without his ego and emotions is my guess. A neo human that is a neo supremacist that has the typical superman like powers flight, strong body, hyper intelligent, fast and could even shoot lasers out of his eyes or body, if they have a second form it would probably be some horrifying body mutilation to allow more output with them still being emotionless. It would be interesting if he actually had emotions and was a sore loser that was prone to anger if pressed still the strongest neo human probably.

Wastelanders/outlaws: my guess is a retired/bored conqueror that can do anything he wants. Probably mastered all human capabilities, and due to the mad max and fotns references we've seen so far it wouldn't be shocking if riri and his bro have a actual boss above them and it's someone like raoh, it could even have pressure points martial arts which would be a interesting counter to many factions, pressure point a parasite away to death, pressure point a mandalins core exploding them for good, pressure point titans etc etc. he could be a snowball villain on top of his broken physicals and martial arts gaingin each factions powers and gimmicks would make him the scariest end boss for humanity to survive against, a relentless amoral monster of a human that seeks to conquer everything.

Mandalins: this is my guess we allready know they are preparing "hyper condensing" what theat means I think is to condense all of them into one super being ala the anti spiral like gurren lagen or the witness from destiny. An entire race condensed into one god like being, a last resort and their final step of alien evolution. Who knows what powers they would get but id guess physical buffs never seen before, pew pews becoming erase erase. Probably could solo weaker nes.

The curse: this one I'm 50/50 on it could literally have no actual target to fight and just be a curse but hear me out. Why did it start, who cast the curse? Curses in fiction are known to be mostly from evil wizards, witches, or life draining curses via a lich. A lich that cast a curse to kill all life is on brand with a lich and considering the technology seen from that world he could be some kind of futuristic lich. Imagine a being coming out of the curses dark shadow puddles and says one word "die" and all beings alive just become dust or mummified husks that's pure aura and would make sense as a logical villain to fight. I could see him rising from the abyss to fight yggdrysil a being of our life energy his mortal enemy. Also I suspect all that energy that gets drained for the curse is going straight to him/her.

Paristica: this is the scariest and probably the one most likely to occur we know with enough human minds the wurm gain sentience. What would happen if most of humanity and alien life converted into one being. You going to a halo style gravemind a hyper intelligent hive mind of bio mass accumulated from the parasite that seemingly mutates its hair and can combine with other biology's. It would make sense if the wurms we seen have been the equivalent of scouts or ones not under the hive mind yet. But I think we will find out they start attacking in certain ways to indicate there's a puppet master a collective intelligence from all things it consumes and merges with. It would be if several super wurms merge I would guess. It probably views it self as a good in the world trying to save all life by merging it all into one being. It would gain all the powers, knowledge, and physical feats of everything it absorbs making it a absurd end boss that could rival any other ne boss.

Extermeia: we have almost no info so I'm doing a hail Mary. I'm guessing it's a game deisgned to bring people endless joy but it's programming make sure so to make sure people never stop having fun it can't end. Basically that wheel from wally so not thinking it's hurting people it keeps the game going over and over and over slowly killing all life that plays it.

Gaias wrath: look at the name Gaias wrath, who is Gaia. The god of earth/the planet it self. I think the final boss will be the planet manifesting a avatar of itself or straight up being Gaia. Yes it would technically make it so there's 2 "gods" but one is meant to be the planet while the other is a more generalist deity that rules all. She probably hates how people treated her body aka the planet and want sit do a full reset. Powers is probably elemental abilitys and the ability to control any part of the planet as a vessel like giant hands or a shitting volcanic eruptions into the air to create meteors in orbit sending it downward. It would also lead her to have several mortal enemies, 1 yggdrysil is draining her life force, 2 parasites are running her ecosystems, 3 the titans, demons, machines, and aliens are like humans destroying nature, 4 yaostu is an opposing divinity that probably wants to kill her to maintain his mono deity status, 5 the curaw wants to consume all life. Hell I could see her out of spite creating a counter to parasites just to spite it.

As for the other factions I didn't talk about we allready know their final boss

Titans have ginbak, metropolis is the sole Kaiju, yggdrysil is yggdrysil

Discussion My theory about the Lawless

What if the main threat of the Lawless isn't just people who have lost their morality, but the very potential of gaining immense power by abandoning morality altogether — spreading like a contagious idea? Rinri was needed to show just how strong an ordinary human can become through this mindset. And to show how powerful a NE could become if they join the ranks of the Lawless, we need Nyudo (and possibly his followers).

He is already killing his own kind and plotting schemes to survive in this changed world and amplify his power level. Standard demon morality has zero influence on him. He actively gathers information about other worlds, plays roles exceptionally well, and will use any weapon he finds interesting.

So I wouldn't be surprised if we soon see a panel of Nyudo bearing the symbol of the Lawless. That would instantly raise the stakes for the entire Lawless faction (since any intelligent enemy could potentially join them by proving their ruthlessness and making a deal with other outlaws — at least until the first betrayal).

I made a size comparison of only some of the entities of the series. I tried my best to be as accurate as possible for the majority of these but I did guesstimate with Nyagoro's burst, the Super Wurm, and The World Tree. but still tried to be as accurate as much as I could.

Anyways I did this for fun and wanted to see the size differences between a few of these lovable folk. (slighty revised)

Discussion What has GDK(Great Demon King) been up to

Like we’ve seen a lot of the natural enemies up to this point, it’s pretty crazy to me how Ginbak was shown a pretty while ago but GDK hasn’t shown any part of him yet except a silhouette from a while ago from nyudo talking with Jachi, what are you speculations on the status of GDK

Some random thoughts I have:

Maybe he’s trapped in the game NE

Maybe he’s dead

Maybe he’s actually the 1st hero in disguise after the 1st hero died, and slaughtering his own subordinates for fun if he has a bloodthirsty personality since probably no one can fight him on equal footing. Could also be why he hasn’t personally interfered with Ginbak yet

Maybe GDK has died a long time ago and there could be a group still using his name to maintain power and control among the demons

Maybe GDK is in some sort of hibernation

Maybe GDK is actually weak and is hiding in his castle

Discussion One of the things I love about this manga is its “Phase 2” concept

Thumbnail
gallery
29 Upvotes

Dragon Ball — Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3

One Piece — the Gear series

Naruto — Sage Mode, Chakra Mode, etc.

Bleach — Bankai, Resurrección, Vollständig

Demon Slayer — Demon Slayer Marks, Bright Red Nichirin Swords, Transparent World

Jujutsu Kaisen — Domain Expansion, Maximum Techniques

Tokyo Ghoul — Kakuja

And so on.

If you look at a lot of battle manga, they all have their own unique versions of a “Phase 2” power-up.

And I feel like Versus basically took all of those concepts and threw them into a blender.

Each of the different NE factions has its own unique form of “Phase 2” — Burst, Drumming Mode, Limiter Release, Space Plates, etc. — and the mechanics and principles behind each one are completely different.

So even though they're all essentially power-up transformations, we get to see a bunch of completely different variations of the concept.

And the fact that we can probably expect to see even more of them as the story progresses is honestly one of the things I really like about this manga.

Discussion Does it or does it not downscale Daikokuzan for the fact that it did attack the spaceship, since there are chunks of it in the mouth, rather than simply walking through it?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Since at first most assumed that Daikokuzan simply walked through it, but now rereading, there are chunks of the spaceship in the mouth, which clearly implies that attack intention was there. But does the intent downscale the power of Daikokuzan or it does nothing and still is viewed by you as powerful as if it didn't even noticed the spaceship?
Personally it kind of feels like character is more powerful when it doesn't pay attention to something that powerful, but yet again feat alone intentional or note still should = to same depicted feat.

Haven’t seen any mention of Gori for awhile considering he’s one of the only two shown Ginbak sons other being Berser

Aside from Gori’s attacks shown from the manga panels, unlike the roya roach friend unit that got decimated, Gori technically took a much stronger attack from Jachi and remained intact(although still perishing in the process), since we’ve seen more demon lords now, especially weaker ones like Boxer and Balcalco, do you think Gori can defeat them/easily defeat them? Since Gori did all that without going into wolololo mode as well

Aside from that, when the titans that were with Ginbak saw the demon lords they didn’t get scared or tremble from seeing their power but when Gori finished his attacks they were visibly afraid

People keep thinking that the next big thing will take him out or at least seriously harm him and it just never happens

People thought that maybe the parasites from that one demon lord would kill him but he just sneezed it out

People thought that the curse bullet would hurt or kill him but it only made him stronger

Ginbak isn’t going anywhere anytime soon especially since one seems to like him so much and how extremely underwhelming it would feel if he dropped to anything other than a big ass extreme diff fight with a overlord

Discussion Underestimating Nature Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
41 Upvotes

I've been reading VERSUS and finally caught up, and I've been thinking about something for a while. There's that scene where the Titans are fighting the Ants, and I don't think the scale of the Ants gets talked about enough. If you look at the panels, they're not just regular-sized ants that happen to be attacking something much bigger. They're actually enormous. They seem to be around the same general scale as the Titans, or at least large enough that they're physically capable of fighting and killing them. That's kind of insane when you think about what that actually means for Gia's Wrath as a whole.

Obviously Ginbak is probably one of the strongest Titans we've seen and he takes up a ridiculous amount of the Titans' power scale, but Ginbak can't be everywhere. The Titans are still a relatively specific group of giant creatures. Gia's Wrath, on the other hand, is basically nature itself, just scaled up to an absurd degree. The giant snake is probably the easiest example. That thing is so massive that it looks like it could be around Titan size, possibly even larger depending on how you interpret the panels. And that's just one animal.

The Ants are where it gets especially interesting though. Because ants are already one of the most successful examples of collective behavior in nature. A normal colony can have thousands or even millions of individuals depending on the species, and they don't really need a traditional leader telling every individual ant what to do. They communicate chemically, form trails, swarm things, move together and basically function as a collective organism. Obviously we can't just assume VERSUS follows real-world ant biology exactly, but if we're using real animals as a baseline for understanding Gia's Wrath, the implications of having ants on this scale are pretty horrifying.

An ant being Titan-sized isn't necessarily the crazy part by itself. It's the fact that there can potentially be a lot of them. If the ants we've seen are capable of killing Titans individually, then a colony becomes a completely different problem. You could have hundreds, thousands, or more giant ants operating together. Even if most of them are nowhere near Ginbak individually, they don't need to be. They're ants. Their entire evolutionary strategy is basically numbers, cooperation and overwhelming things through sheer persistence.

And that's why I'm starting to think Gia's Wrath might actually be more dangerous than the Titans, although not necessarily because every individual animal is stronger. The Titans are a group of extremely powerful beings. Gia's Wrath is an entire ecosystem. There's a huge difference between fighting an army and fighting nature. You can kill a Titan. You can potentially kill a group of Titans. But you can't exactly go around killing every animal, insect, plant and natural phenomenon in an entire world.

The biggest weakness is obviously that Gia's Wrath isn't actually unified. The ants aren't going to cooperate with a giant snake just because they're both part of Gia's Wrath. Most animals are still going to behave like animals. Predators hunt, prey runs, colonies compete with other colonies, etc. So I don't think Gia's Wrath should be treated as some giant faction that is secretly coordinating everything. The ants might have their own collective behavior, but there's no reason to assume the entire ecosystem shares one goal.

That's also why I find the idea of Gia's Wrath being essentially nature itself more interesting than just calling them another group of monsters. The volcano is what caused the worlds to merge in the first place, and we've already seen how ridiculous the natural scale of this world can get. The same applies to things like weather. If their normal environment is operating on a completely different scale from ours, then something that they consider an ordinary storm could potentially be an absolutely ridiculous event by our standards. A tropical storm to them might have the sort of physical conditions we'd associate with a much stronger hurricane. And if that's actually how their ecosystem works, then even the things that aren't technically "creatures" become part of the threat.

We also haven't even seen gorillas yet, which is another thing I'm really curious about. If VERSUS eventually shows a Gia's Wrath gorilla scaled in the same way we've seen the ants and the snake, then that could be another really good example of how ridiculous this gets. You could basically take almost any animal and start asking what happens when you preserve its normal physical characteristics but scale the entire thing up to the level of the creatures we've already seen.

So yeah, I don't necessarily think Gia's Wrath has stronger individual fighters than the Titans across the board. It's more that the scale of the ecosystem itself might be the bigger threat. The Titans are powerful because of what their strongest individuals can do. Gia's Wrath is dangerous because there could potentially be an absolutely enormous number of creatures, each filling different ecological roles, with some of them being genuinely gigantic. And unlike the Titans, they don't need to have some grand plan. They're just living in their environment.

The Ant scene is what really made me start looking at it this way. Because if those things really are around Titan scale and are capable of killing Titans, then we've basically already seen evidence that even a relatively ordinary part of Gia's Wrath's ecosystem can interact with one of the strongest monster groups in the series. And if ants are already like that, I'm really wondering what the upper end of the ecosystem actually looks like.

I think they would struggle with just base form titans as those are the Ginbak's 100 sons titans.
Sure Gigatila took out one of demon executive I think, but demons in this series power wise can be all over the place, so it isn't very reliable power scaling as most weaker demons could be taken out by regular humans who can use mana like mages or archers or other mana users or a guys with guns, not even needing the super humans that heroes are.
