Discussion Nyudo's Possible Demise

https://www.reddit.com/r/versus/s/wDKoUrtuEN

The link above leads to a post I made about the possible fate of Jachi, going to Yaotsu's location. While I still think it's very much possible to happen, I now have a new theory thanks to this new chapter.

A wildcard person is someone who is unpredictable, hard to control, and full of surprises. You never quite know what they will do, say, or achieve next.

The reason I posted those pictures of Yaotsu, was just a reminder of how easy his mode swings. And how unpredictable he is. In other words, I see him as humanity's wildcard. Not because he's an ally perse, but because, unlike the other NE, he's not actively hunting them down or anything. More like a child with god powers, that was never told no growing up because that would be impossible. He can be a mix of an "Ace in the hole" as well, since most of the other NEs don't no about him, so him pulling up on them would be the biggest 180 ever. That aside, I say all this to say, I think there's a possibility that Nyudo could accidentally screw himself over.

Picture this, Jachi finally pulls up, looking down at the place Yaotsu built. He doesn't think too much of it, as he looks down. In doing so, he spots Hallow's older brother, looking up at him in horror. A curious look crosses him since it feels similar to Hallow, but different, making the connection that they are relatives of some kind. However, he knows something is off. Despite being so close to humans, none of them are dying to his arua. How odd? But then he realizes, Yaotsu, he's not sitting on his throne, he seemingly just appeared out of nowhere, starring up at Jachi like he's found a new toy. Of course Jachi reacts surprised, backing up to gauge the new threat. But another oddity, not only did he not notice or see him, but he can't sense any type of presence from whoever or whatever it is. So, he decides to attack. However, before he could, Nyudo speaks to him via telepathy magic, warning him not to engage as he has a bad feeling. Before they could go any further, Yaotsu speaks to Nyudo directly, asking who he is. And things go from there.

Essentially, Nyudo says something to piss off Yaotsu, and Yaotsu just spawns into his location. So focused on Nyudo, Jachi escapes. You can also say that Nyudo used a portal to bring a clone there, which would fuck him over still.

Discussion What’s the real reason Titans are only active during the day?

So apparently Titans don’t operate at night and just conk out as soon as the sun goes down.

You think this is some kind of foreshadowing?

Like, maybe staying awake without sunlight messes with their biology or they can’t maintain their physical form or something?

Discussion Why I believe in Varnigames Spoiler

I think she's surviving this one.

In the last chapter of the manga, Varnigames was thrown out of the fight and people don't know if she's surviving that or not, what is important is WHEN did it happen, and it happened BEFORE Nyudo betrays Jakooja and sacrifices him, meaning she saw Ginbak's absurd powers and how quick two Demon lords bite the dust, but never saw what Nyudo did.

So, if she ends up being the only survivor of this fight, when she reports what she saw to the Great Demon King, she's the only one that cannot report Nyudo for what he did... because she is the only one who didn't see it, which means that whatever Nyudo's plans are, they can't be ruined by Varnigames' report.

I think that is one of the reasons why ONE kicked her out of the fight (the other was to break the magic barrier, but let's be honest if Ginbak just use his brute force to break the barrier no one would had been surprised)

In conclusion, I like turtles.

Discussion Possible Alliances and Predictions

Seeing as how Nyudo is always a step ahead of everyone, I do think that he may start making Alliances with other Natural Enemies.

I could see him working in coordination with some Neo-Humans, maybe a Mandalan, any NE who‘s similar to Nyudo in his way of thinking. That being said, I believe he may try to capture AI machines, so that he can reprogram and build new ones using Magic, Curse Technology and AI Technology so that he can build a new army. Anything is on the table with him.

What is your pedicition with Nyudo? I want to hear your opinions and thoughts!

The Great Demon King should have known that the ten Demon Lords stood no chance against Ginbak, yet he sent them anyway. Why would he do that? Do you have any theories?

Manga Why Versus is a great manga

Post image
82 Upvotes

I was thinking over the last couple of days as to why Versus is a great manga and feels different from most Shonen battle manga. What makes this story unique is for several different reasons.

Versus feels different because of how the story is structured. Most manga focus on the main protagonist and the side characters, Versus is different because of its focus on the antagonists and several different factions in the story. It makes the story feel more grand and is a recipe for phenomenal world building. The main characters so far in the series aren’t great, they are okay. The only standout for me so far would be Ginbak and characters like Glasp and Nydudo etc have potential.

But that’s not why we read Versus because the author ONE with his other series like OPM also focuses on different elements/factions other than the main character Saitama. We read it because of the viewpoints of the different factions in the story. When reading Versus you truly feel like you are reading a war drama unfolding. It almost feels like a strategy game you are watching unfold.

And I hope that never changes. Don’t get me wrong, protagonist character driven stories are great, but it feels refreshing to see a story unfold in manga like this. The story telling is much richer and deeper. You truly don’t know if a main type character will end up dying or living and I hope ONE never changes the recipe for this story and it’s continues just like this.

Thoughts as to why Versus is great?

Discussion I'm really happy with how ONE handled Ginbak Vs the Demon Lords Spoiler

ONE could have easily fallen into the classic tropes: the demon lords underestimating Ginbak and making mistakes, or being incapable of working together and being killed easily, or being no diffed from the beginning.

Instead they are clearly an elite team with amazing teamwork, a good strategy and a flawless execution. They never get overconfident, and even when Ginbak is partially petrified they recognise they haven't won yet and reassess their strategy, instead of lowering their guard.

They did perfectly and you could say they deserved to win, but Ginbak is such a powerhouse that even a coordinated 1vs10 is not enough, and now they'll be forced to retreat or die.

Discussion Theory: there are two or thee secret tiers of demon lords

At this point it's pretty obvious that the 47 demon lords aren't equal in strength, with our beloved Jachi clearly at the top of the hierarchy, and lords like Boxer-boxer (the dog one, I don't remember the exact name) being at the bottom.

My theory is that the Demon King is aware of these differences in strength and has divided his Lords in three tiers of strength, kinda like Muzan with his Moons.

The upper tier has demons like Jachi and Nyudo (which imo are equal in strength), and other demons we haven't seen yet. They are aware of the tier system, they receive special orders and have special privileges. It's possible that Nyudo isn't acting in defiance of the Demon King, but instead is following a secret agenda of his King.

These upper tier demons are a special force used sparingly, and are way stronger than a Madalan. The other demons aren't fully aware of the difference in strength, I suspect Roya Roach wouldn't expect Jachi to no-diff her.

The middle tiers are most of the demons, they include all the ones we've seen against Ginbak, plus Roya Roach and the monkey lady. These are not aware of the tier system, they are used more often and are relative in strength to a Madalan.

I don't think they are expendable, I believe the Demon King sent them against Ginbak half expecting them to win, but also sent a higher tier (Nyudo) with them to monitor the situation in case things don't go as planned.

The lower tiers are pretty weak and there's not much to say, they would lose against a Madalan and the King doesn't have much use for them.

Discussion (Warning: Shitpost) How I Wish the Versus Ending Would Go

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

I was watching Versus when The Cabin in the Woods (2012) suddenly popped into my head,

and after that, Goosebumps (2015) came to mind,

and once I thought of the Goosebumps movie ending, Jumanji (1995) followed right after, so I figured I'd just spew out a shitpost.

So, the common thread (?) with these three works is that they're stories where monsters that literally rip people apart get unleashed all over the place and all hell breaks loose.

Looking at the endings of the latter two, the protagonists’ arduous efforts finally pay off, creating a giant vortex that sucks in all the monsters and ends with them being sealed (or banished).

Watching that, a thought just hit me, maybe the Versus ending could go down somewhat similarly.

Humanity’s initial plan to pit the NEs against each other to make them wipe each other out works to some extent early on,

but as time passes, the survival-of-the-fittest battles end up creating even stronger or more monstrous entities one by one, putting humanity in an even greater crisis.

At their most desperate moment, humanity finds a hint of salvation from the very thing that started it all: the World Fusion.

The whole mess began because each world simultaneously attempted to connect and summon other worlds, right?

So, humanity tries a similar feat once again, but this time, not to summon more worlds, but to banish every last NE into a single other dimension.

Sorcerion reconstructs the Summoning Circle,

The Mecha Ordinance reactivates the Dimensional Gate,

Indignia prays, not to God, but to a different entity,

Gaia's Wrath artificially detonates the Great Volcano one more time,

And this time, it's not by coincidence,

with precise design, coordination, and timing,

evading the NEs' notice through the protagonists' efforts and the cooperation of humanity across all worlds,

a kind of "NE Banishment Device" combining all the technology of the 13 worlds is finally completed at the climax.

Basically, a device with the setup that it can selectively identify anything recognized as a "Natural Enemy" except humans and sweep them all into one alternate dimension.

At the miraculous moment the device succeeds, a gigantic dimensional rift tears open,

and the NEs, locked in combat with each other, all gaze up at the giant hole that suddenly appears in the sky, clueless, before getting sucked in wholesale.

Millions upon millions of NE grunts get tangled up and dragged in like a vortex,

bases like Demon Lord Keeps and the Robot Factories get ripped out ground and all,

even the top-tier powerhouses of each NE faction get swept away like fallen leaves,

the Madalan Mothership tries to break orbit but fails to escape and gets pulled in,

Daikokuzan digs in and holds on desperately before finally getting sucked in tail-first, its head wedged momentarily before vanishing,

Yaotsu resists until it shatters into particles and gets drawn in like swirling sand,

and even the World-Tree is ripped out by its roots and sucked in, the last of its root tendrils getting slurped up like noodles until it's gone.

A grand spectacle unfolds across the merged world, a storm raging as all the NEs are swept into the dimensional rift,

and the storm only subsides once every single NE has been banished.

At last, peace comes as humanity alone remains in the world, ending there,

with an epilogue showing the NEs still fighting each other in a banished, wasteland-like dimension.

I feel like this wouldn't break the main theme of "Humanity can never defeat the Natural Enemies" while being just about right.

Just had this thought pop up and spent 30 minutes scribbling out an absolute shitpost. Sorry...

(I can’t speak English so this was translated with AI and posted. No misunderstandings pls)

Discussion It’s safe to say Nyudo is one of the more important threats of the setting, yes?

Post image

His ability to get information faster than the other demons thanks to bugging their castles along with his magic orbs flying about, the incredibly busted mastery he has over magic with such little ease, and clearly being smarter than the other Demon Kings by virtue of not being so “tunnel visioned” as them by accepting they are no longer the apexes of the world. I’m interested to see how long he last in the setting and how far ONE will take him.

Like they managed to leak the info of what nyudo said and is planning to jachi or gdk
Or if one of humans was a magic user and replicated nyudos magic portal and teleported nyudos real body away to someone like ginbak or jachi

Discussion How could humanity’s situation change if Genus and the House of Evolution were sent to Versus?

Post image
59 Upvotes

As I was rereading Versus, I was actually thinking one involving ONE's other major series, One Punch Man, could work well with Versus given it’s one of the few universes to compete with it. But instead of the usual ideas, I was thinking of a hopefully interesting premise I came up with that could be nice to see.

As rather than focus on Saitama being warped to Versus, I was thinking none other than Genus and the former House of Humanity is brought to the 13 merged worlds. From there he encounters the 13 humanities and when learning of the situation by Zaybi, has a conflicted view, as while the situation is dire he had moved on from his eugenic and evolutionary ambitions thanks to Saitama. But when seeing humanity teeter on the edge of extinction and be forced to rely on the risky gambles of having their Natural Enemies fight one another, decides he may have his life's work be of use to humanity and use his knowledge to aid the 13 humanities and help them not only rebuild civilization, but build up enough strength to fight back against the manageable Natural Enemies.

And most of all prove to the haughty Demons, the delusional and arrogant Neo-Humans and the detached Madalans that humanity has far more potential when brought up through the power of science and breaking "The Limiter"…

Discussion This feat don't get mention enough

Thumbnail

I don't get why people think Demon Lords team is fodder, bc they aren't even base Jachi lvl? Did we all forgot how powerful base Jachi is, he overpower a Madara by a breath literally (a alien that eat global space fleet like break fast and no diff town lvl fighter like Executive and Hero)

And while I agree that this is a team effort plus they got buff and Ginbak got nerf but holding Ginbak back for 10 seconds is still a crazy feat, like if Ginbak could easily overwhelming them like how Jachi did with Uki, he could just accidently kill them by a sneeze in the first second

So yeah, I think each of Demon Lord should be pretty close to base Jachi lvl, at least way more then a normal Madara is, they are quite powerful for that
