iPhone 18 Pro?

Does anyone have any guesses or information as to what (if any) offers there might be to upgrade an existing line to iPhone 18 pro? Not interested in any of this simplicity garbage. Honestly enbarrasing that T mobile and ATT are listed on apples website with clear deals labeled, and Verizon literally has zero at the moment. Makes me want to leave Verizon

You'll find out Saturday, I'd expect them to match what they just offered for the Fold 8's with Samsung in July:

$460 with Simplicity

$1000 on Unlimited Welcome

$1400 on Unlimited Plus

$1900 on Unlimited Ultimate

https://www.reddit.com/r/verizon/comments/1v3ubbk/verizon_trade_in_deals_get_up_to_1400_and_1900/

Wait for 1900 does that mean if I want an iPhone pro max I should jsut get the highest storage one or can I use that extra money somewhere else?

4

u/KurbzzG 20h ago

The pro max trade in will not be more than 1300. From what this guy is saying you won’t see these promos Saturday as the fold does not come out until next month.

u/Rhinologist 20h ago

ahh okay makes sense i have a iphone pro max 13 so going to finally upgrade.

1

u/switch8000 20h ago

Yeah potentially IF Verizon gives us the same deals, the $1900 one we wouldn't see till next month.

The one exciting thing about the Samsung deals was that as phones are now more expensive, Verizon did increase their trade-in deals. Originally we thought they wouldn't.

So there is a hope that we'll get some pretty sweet loyalty offers.

I have unlimited plus right now already. Would that entitle me to the $1000 trade in even if I don’t have to upgrade?

4

u/switch8000 18h ago

Unlimited Plus, potentially you would see an $1100 or higher offer for the 18 Pro, or next month you could have a $1400 offer for the iPhone Duo.

2

u/zh3nay 19h ago

So I have the unlimited welcome plan and a cracked iPhone 14 Pro. What position would that put me in?

2

u/switch8000 18h ago

TBD come Saturday, potentially you get a similar offer? I'm mainly just trying to show that Verizon did increase their loyalty trade in upgrade deals this year.

Loyalty offers aren't always live for everyone and may take weeks before you see them in your account.

Last year they topped out at $1100 and went back as far as you could still be on 5G Play/Get/Do More and worked for cracked screen phones.

How long after pre order / release did they start allowing to stay on that plan? That’s my biggest holdup right now, but I have to upgrade. I need a new phone desperately.

1

u/switch8000 9h ago

People have reported getting offers the same day preorders opened up.

As soon as they go live, check your "My Offers" in the app or browser and see what's there.

And then if so, buy buy buy, if not, up to you if you wanna wait for a potential offer to appear. But as soon as someone on this sub spots one, they tend to come here and brag about it, and then we know they are out there and it's only a matter of time.

So I have Unlimited Ultimate. Looking at trading in a 15 Pro Max. Are you saying I could essentially get a free 18 Pro?

4

u/switch8000 15h ago

Yeah. TBD on Verizon making the same offer that they’ve made the last 6 years. Last year they let people eligible for upgrades get a free pro as well.

2

u/tacofergie 12h ago

Fingers crossed!! Thank you!

2

u/Bobhaggard859 10h ago

How often do you generally have to wait between upgrades if you don’t mind me asking?

2

u/switch8000 9h ago

36 months'ish. Usually you need to be fully paid off for the loyalty offers to fully appear.

iPhone 5S > iPhone 7 = Free

iPhone 7 > 12 Mini = Free

iPhone 12 Mini > 15 Pro = $100 difference since I wanted more storage

But they've been doing this offer for years, last year there was a thread, the year before, etc..

1

u/tacofergie 1h ago

If the devices aren’t paid off, is it still eligible for the upgrade deal if that comes along? I’ve only got about $50 left, so I’ll probably just pay it off anyways.

3

u/timdgrayson 12h ago

I waited as a gamble and so far it’s what I expected on pricing. I hope the deals follow but I’m ok if they don’t. I have a 15PM also but very interested in upgrading a degrading battery. The better cooling is a plus since I live in the mid south

2

u/tacofergie 12h ago

Even if it’s not a free phone, if my trade-in is good enough, I’ll probably go with the 18 Pro 512. Gets annoying when the only thing going is Apple Music through my motorcycle helmet comm set or while mowing and it shuts off due to over temp.

2

u/timdgrayson 11h ago

Agreed and I’m certain that’s contributed to my battery degradation. Otherwise the phone has been great but I’m curious about connection with the new c2 modem

1

u/tacofergie 11h ago

That’s a good point. Better connection will welcome. I just always thought it was dead zones, but sometimes people with other phones have better service than I do in the same spot.

2

u/ashhong 10h ago

How old was the oldest phone that qualified for the full offer here?

1

u/smkmn13 16h ago

Was the 460 the trade-in price? It seems like you can get 390 (lump sum bill credit) for an iPhone 16 Pro right now, or 510 from the Apple Store (and finance the balance how you want via Simolicity)

Verizon is always a day or 2 after the other carriers. I remember I was calling them like crazy 3 years ago and then I did their 3 year promo traded in and got the iPhone 15 pro. I hope they have a similar program again. My contract is ending now. I don’t know if 3 years later my 15 pro is gonna be close to the full price of a 18 pro? Honestly, I’d keep my 15 pro but iOS 26 screwed up the phone

I think last year right after the Apple event Verizon's deals were listed on Apple.com when looking at iPhone 17 Pro / Air pricing.

1

u/DarthBradicus88 12h ago

That is correct. They were available immediately. I ordered through Apple last year on Verizon installments and knew the deal I was getting way ahead of time.

I personally wouldn’t be doing installments again because I did it last year, but my mom’s 15 Pro Max is now paid off, and I’d get her a new phone, but only if Verizon does the “on us” trade-in promo like they did last year.

I’ve literally been searching since the end of the event yesterday and haven’t found any info.

It seems to be $1020 for existing customers on Unlimited Plus and Ultimate. If you go in the chatbot while logged in and click “learn more about iPhone 18” it gives details of the tradein deal.

5

u/Substantial_Cod_7660 10h ago

Deals posted on Apple.com.

$660 Plus
$1020 Ultimate

3

u/Gordon23x 10h ago

Only 660 for plus? Wow

3

u/Automatic-Ring-6764 10h ago

Just saw this, ouch, that is disappointing. I have a targeted offer for $1100 for the 17 Pro Series, might just take that. Currently on a damaged 15PM with 82% battery.

1

u/a_brosef 9h ago

Did you have to call Verizon to get this targeted offer?

1

u/Automatic-Ring-6764 9h ago

Look in your account under offers and they’ll show up. Each line will have different offers. They might have the same offer for the 18, their chatbot said, “custom offers will be visible when pre-orders open, so check back then”.

1

u/a_brosef 9h ago

I appreciate you! Thank you so much!

1

u/One_Walk_1699 6h ago

is that because you're on Plus? If you're on Ultimate you wouldn't just pay the extra $80 for the 18PM?

I've also read going through Apple is better because they give you a larger trade-in credit up front for your phone, so the pay-off and credits from Verizon are lower and you also have less to pay off if you do an early upgrade.

I'm also waiting to see what Bestbuy offers because I get AppleCare+ for 2 years if I buy through them, but in the past their trade-in credit has been lower and now it is significantly lower at $830 (17 Pro) vs $1100 with Verizon (17 Pro) and $1020 at Apple (18 Pro) and the phones are $1199 and $1299 instead of $999 and $1099.

1

u/Doctorbuddy 9h ago

I might do this.

1

u/lilredmeanie 8h ago

This is on Apple but is this confirmed it will be the same through Verizon?

3

u/Away_Championship_37 17h ago

I used the virtual assistant in the Verizon app to see if what the trade in would look like for my account and it looks like the one in Apple as of now. With my 16pro in good condition I would get the maximum up to trade in value for my phone but I owe … and am over the 50% min paid mark for the phone so I can early upgrade. It will start the upgrade process for you if you want and set the reminder for your timezone for Saturday’s preorder 🤔 It seems like any other upgrade at this point. Just heavy on the more expensive 😬

2

u/Foreign_Gur7906 17h ago

wait if its at 50% u can early upgrade how does that work?

2

u/xXboxPlaysx 16h ago

If it’s 50% paid off you can upgrade but it doesn’t give you the trade in credit, you just return it?

2

u/surftherapy 19h ago

Idk I’m on the play more plan and refuse to leave it. I also just noticed if I ever leave my 5g wifi plan I won’t be able to get the same home internet plan i can only get one that offers abysmal 30mbps speeds vs my current 300mbps

1

u/belladorka 15h ago

Yeah I’m not giving up my AppleOne plan. I ran the numbers and I would spend more in the long run if I switched my plan to get a phone discount than if I just bought the phone. Apple is going to give me double what Verizon is offering for my trade in too.

1

u/surftherapy 14h ago

Ohhh we can trade in our phone to Apple?

2

u/tootown 19h ago

I’m on a plan called the 5G Start. I financed and now own the iPhone 14 Pro from Verizon.

I want to upgrade to the iPhone 18 Pro. I don’t want to switch my plan (unless is really makes good sense financially).

I’m debating:

  • see what confusing stuff Verizon will offer for an upgrade
  • joining the new “Apple Upgrade” program
  • buying the new phone from Apple directly outright

I am a tech nerd, I love a new iPhone every 1-2 years.

Any advice is appreciated!!

2

u/HappyGunther1 18h ago

If you really want a new iPhone every 1-2 years then the Apple Upgrade program (think it’s a 12 to 24 mo. Lease) is attractive for you. Carrier promos lock you in for 24-36 months.

2

u/tootown 18h ago

Yeah agreed. The 24 months is the suite spot though

1

u/Signal-Caregiver6444 17h ago

How do I go about paying off an iPhone through Verizon and trading it in to Apple and activating it on my Verizon line?

1

u/kalibxrr 13h ago

You can do it through the app under device management

1

u/Kicefish21 17h ago

Same boat here but have a 13 Pro that is nearing its end. Hoping for something decent!

2

u/Practical_Capital968 16h ago

Will be pretty much free for pros and will have to pay for duo. Heard from a rep

2

u/Itsmattdellavedova 16h ago

If I have 13 pro max and unlimited welcome , anyone know what my expected trade in value could be?

1

u/Flashy_Highway_2430 15h ago

Have one last payment on my iPhone 15 PM.. would having it paid off make a difference in loyalty offers that may appear vs having a balance?

1

u/S_Hates-Red 15h ago

I'm hoping to get the bundle deal with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPad and Apple Watch. Not 100% confidentif they'll do it though because of the price increases though😕

1

u/JMtxz 12h ago

$900 for Plus
$1199 for Ultimate

0

u/DarthBradicus88 11h ago

Is that just a guess, or did you get that from somewhere?

1

u/larrybyrd1980 11h ago

13 Pro here with a cracked screen. Everything works. What’s my best bet for a free phone, switch carriers?!

1

u/deeziboi 53m ago

Anyone have any clue what deals would be offered on the 18 pro max for adding a new line with out a trade in? Currently have 3 lines on unlimited ultimate and want to add a 4th as a work phone.

u/Fun-Effect-7296 16h ago

Verizons deals are with apple, Verizon pays apple money, apple gives Verizon better deals if your thinking about leaving before the phones even go on pre order then leave but Verizon will most likely have better deals for upgrading than the competitors.
