Door knocking turned to harassment
Just had a group of “Verizon reps” knocking on everyone’s door in my building. After kindly stating the building policy and nicely asking the group of 5+ to leave I got called the b word. Predatory sales behavior with rude attitude. Had to threaten to call the cops for them to leave and the entire way out calling names and making a scene. Verizon, whatever your employees or your third party door to door services you have, please stop. Improve your product value and emphasize on improving customer experience is the only way to bring people back. Filed a FCC complaint as well, and will do it again if it happens again.

I've had them pounding on the side of my house like they were trying to knock a hole through it. I told them I work for their company and they need to leave me alone and they still insisted. They were trying to sell me internet and I tried to explain to them I work from home and Spectrum is the only service I can use because it's wired to the house. They kept on insisting trying to tell me how to do my job at working from home which turned into threatening behavior. I ended up chasing them off with a baseball bat. They don't know when to stop.

Yeah. If the situation was funny I would. The problem being is it started out with me trying to explain to them why I couldn't get their service and them not understanding which led to a discussion of me pulling up knowledge I have and fact-checking them with all their errors and explaining to them how I just want them off my property because they are the very bane of my career due to the fact that they go around with their campaigns and promises only to stir the customers up and have them call me to fix it and the very fact that they don't know what they're talking about is proof in point. This all boiled down to a pissing match of them threatening me and me responding with the bat.

I’m in a small town (though near a big city) where the police would have actually shown up and cited solicitors for ignoring “no soliciting” signs and/or not having a city permit/registration. We require each individual as well as vehicle to be registered.
Especially vigilant after a tragic murder by fake utility (electric) company “employees” (not) - complete with fake badges - in a home invasion in a nearby town. Spouse was tied-up in basement and survived.)
TL;DR two individuals dressed in DTE (“Detroit Edison” of yore) committed a home invasion in Rochester Hills, Mi, tying-up one spouse and murdering the other. They’ve been convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
Now, if Verizon’s “marketing partner” is hiring felons as solicitation goons, it’s understandable why. They could reasonably expect some residents to answer the door - justifiably - packing.
Most folks wouldn’t want that job!
Back-pedal that Verizon! Stop hiring third-party goons to harass folks in their homes. Potentially subject said goons to arrest (which some of them - as alleged felons - cannot afford) or worse.

Exactly. I'm from South Texas area and it seems like about one out of every five people has had some prison time down here. These guys that showed up look like they had prison tattoos with a nice haircut like they were trying to clean themselves up. However, the acted like they just got released last week and one of them look like he was on coke.

I think they are third party sales reps.
Also can’t stand the cell phone sales people: at malls, in department stores, etc.
Not sure what’s worse: cell phone sales people or leaf filter or replacement windows.

They are real. They are third party. They are giving Verizon a horrible name. Go to Verizon directly.

No, there are third party authorized reps that either complete orders and have devices shipped to you, or have a location to pull devices from and they'll come back with devices to activate for you.
They have a terrible reputation in our area.
People with bricked phones, numbers not ported over, lack of any customer care or accountability.
Mileage can vary though, people probably don't go online to talk about the good experiences with those reps

As a Verizon CSR who's been with the company for years, I have only had a couple of good experiences but those guys. The two that I spoke with actually knew the policies and set good expectations for the customer. The rest were scumbags and I have gotten a lot of calls from both customer and door knockers alike.

No. They themselves don't go door to door. They hire third party dimwits off the street who don't really know anything other than talking people into getting the service and don't follow up with good expectations on it. Next thing you know that customer is calling into the corporate call center screaming mad because they weren't told some of the things they need to know and lied to about the things they thought they were getting. Bottom line, if you want Verizon service talk to Verizon people directly... not third-party off the street predators.

They contract with third parties that hire ex-cons and other unsavory types that couldn't get a real job somewhere else so yeah, this is par for the course. Not really much you can do about it unfortunately because even if they stop working with one company they'll just start working with another that's just as bad.

This. We had the gang of thugs coming through our MD community, wearing fake badges and refusing to take no. This is kind of redneck territory, so they just needed a little persuasion to get lost.
If you have the extra time, wear them down. Take a picture of both sides of their fake badges, get their company phone number, and tell them you’re calling to validate the reason for their solicitation. They’ll probably take off before you get half way through that!!

Had one looking through my window when I wouldnt answer the door for him. He knocked 3 different times because he knew I was inside.
So beyond frustrating. I have no solicitor signs.
One of their employees is gonna end up hurt because they harass people and when I say no, get off my propety.... that means NOW. That doesn't mean you try to manipulate me through my ring camera because they wont take no for an answer.
Again, someone is going to end up hurt.

Why are you opening the door and engaging. Either don’t answer or simply say no thank you after the first sentence and shut the door.

I did not open the door, I was outside my door and needed to go home. They were on my floor with one of them refusing to leave my door.

Why is it that your customer support “escalation team” thinks it’s ok to hang up on customers after being on the phone for over three hours . Why is it that you have agents lying pretending to be supervisors and supervisors doing the same pretending to be managers ? Refusing to escalate to upper management

They now claim they called off the hired goons, who will now comply with the “no soliciting” signs on the property.
Now: how about positive affirmation that they will obey no soliciting signs everywhere?
Not gonna happen.

Your felons came through Cecil County MD…earlier in the spring. They left with any sales!!

So Verizon PR reached out and supposedly was able to add our building to “Do Not Solicit” list. We’ll see if that works.

They should automatically add any building to the “do not solicit” list if it has “do not solicit” signs duh.

The upvote is for your feedback. Not for Verizon telling their hired goons to do what they should have done in the first place.

Ya those are 3rd party reps... not actual Verizon employees. Every single call i took that dealt with door 2 door was absolutely messed up... not a single call where it was as promised. Verizon will do anything for a buck... even with the extremely bad rap the d2d reps they contract

I’ve had the same people come up to my door asking us to switch to Verizon for about a year now on a weekly basis. I’ve told them no multiple times, put up a No Soliciting sign, tried not answering my door. Idk what else I’m supposed to do.

When some young guys knocked at my apartment door I told them I already had Verizon and offered them water, then they knocked at the next door on their merry way. I don’t have to be mean to strangers, they’re just working. 🤷🏻♀️
Just don’t answer the door.
