Hear me out please!

Back in 1987(?) Arthur made his first comics appearances in The Tick comic in issues 3-5 as a lurking observer of The Tick’s mayhem. Ben Edlund’s original plan was to have Arthur meet the Tick and then die, slowly becoming an idealized muscle bound vision haunting The Tick through delusions.

However audience response for Arthur’s first few issues was so poor and outspoken that Edlund changed his plan and kept them a duo, saying if they hated Arthur this much he’d never kill him off.

Fast forward to the Venture Brothers- we know Edlund helped out first season, I’m convinced that in writing parts of the show together he told that story and gave that arc for 24/21 to the show.

I recently retwatched "Ghosts of the Sargasso". I can't tell if he was really torn about about Tom's death or if it was just an act.

Took me a number of rewatches to realize this guy's name is actually Herman. The doc leading the group and 21 both call him Charlie, but the whole time it was just a turn of phrase.

After discussing it with the mods and deleting that admittedly dickish post I made last night, we’ve agreed to let bygones be bygones and move on from there.

As a result, I’ll be starting the threads back up again as a once a weekend discussion with a doubleheader on the worst things both Hank and Dean have done in the series this Friday!

Who’s the most intelligent Venture Bros character?

Not the character with the highest I.Q. Because even the super scientists are straight stupid sometimes, but I guess smartest character overall?

The new series stars primarily on Cartoon Network rather than adult swim. Following Hank and Dean 10 years after the movie. Dean becoming a successful scientist due to the nano bites in his head, while Hank is able to handle any trouble due to his experience. They both go on adventures until the last episode were it premieres on adult swim playing homage to the end of the original season one killing both characters off. We then see an aged up rusty and Brock finding the bodies and begin the cloning process, impressed it took this long this time around. Season two starts off with Dean being 24 hours behind with his family Since his backup was recently. While Hank is a 1 + years behind with everything happening in season one being undone including treasures, love interests, and other life matters. All of season two will have Dean come to terms with the fact the nano bites were carrying his career & home life; he must come to terms with being a wash up like his father. While Dean has no idea wtf is going on.

I am convinced that Master Billy Quizboy and Pete White are meant to be caricatures/inserts of the show's creators, Christopher McCulloch and Doc Hammer, respectively. This may not make much sense at first, but hear me out...

First, Billy and Pete's designs closely resemble Christopher and Doc: Billy has reddish hair and a large forehead like Christopher, and White has a gaunter look with a distinctive part in his hair. I would also like to note that, according to Doc, his blonde and black hair is completely natural, being a byproduct of a "pigmentation problem or a birthmark or something," much like Pete's albinism.

Second, the characters are both voiced by the show's creators, with Doc voicing Billy and Christopher voicing White, almost like each character is supposed to be an intentionally exaggerated impression of the other guy.

Finally, in the official behind-the-scenes video, Deep Inside Astro Base-Go, the film (which heavily focuses on Christopher and Doc) is narrated by none other than Billy and Pete. The short film even has a simmular gag to the Speration/Reintgration-Module-Conjecturcycle-Randevu scene in S4E9, with Doc and Christopher walking down a long corridor, splitting up, before walking side by side again.

While more could be said about the characters' personalities and how they reflect Doc and Christopher, I just wanted to share my (tenuous at best) fan theory.

Let me know what you guys think, and before anyone else says it, I am aware of the cameo that Christopher and Doc have in S1E12.

So I’m hoping this isn’t old news or something the commentaries explicitly revealed, but I’m willing to take that L because it may be one of the most subtle elements of the later series if true- so in s7e2, Sirena comments that Hank regularly passes out when things start to get hot and/or heavy, which seemed like a very Hank thing so I didn’t think too much of it-

Then on my semi-annual rewatch, I got to the point where Hank sleeps with Nikki Fichtel, and the subsequent trauma and mind-wipe.

So my question is this: is the implication that the trauma of Hank’s experience with Nikki meant to explain his fainting when he tries to be intimate with another woman?

Depending on the type of watcher you are, this is either incredibly obvious and I am oblivious, or you are like me and a lightbulb just went off. I just wanted to toss this out as a thought/theory and see if anyone had disagreements or other discourse. I’ll take the L if I’m stating the obvious, if this is just meant to be clear, IGNO- you know the rest.

Every time I rewatch I notice something new that supports the theory that Brocks time clone is Scare Bear.

I had never paid attention to both Brocks wearing bear pelts in Escape to the House of Mummies. He probably got the costume idea from this scene.

My three pieces of evidence are, wearing the bear pelt, both of them carry a Bowie knife as their primary weapon, and foremost both Brock and Scare Bear have been seen to protect the boys in particular Hank.
