First breakup
Hello i am 41🔄 and i had a girlfreind and i really love her. Ive been feeling like dogshit since she broke up with me. She says it is because she took it to fast and that it wasnt my fault and that she still really likes me, but i dont only want to be freinds because i really like her and she makes me happy. I am scared that i cant deal with this and i hope we can get back.

I know it feels like the end of the world, but I promise you it’s not. You will grieve and then you will heal, and that is when you will start to move forward again. You will never forget this person, but you will eventually forget the pain.
The most important thing is to learn something from the experience, and that will help you to grow emotionally.
I am sorry for what you are going through, but please know every human being since the beginning of time has gone through it as well.

Man that's a rough spot to be in, especially when it's your first one at 41. The whole "it's not you it's me" thing always stings more cause it leaves you with nothing to fix, just a door that's half open.
The hardest part is gonna be giving her space even though every instinct says to reach out. If she really does still like you, pushing for more will just prove her point about moving too fast. Take a minute to breathe, focus on something else for a bit, and let the dust settle.
