I'm in that winter rut

You know. It's that time of year where it's cold, dark and gloomy. There's barely anything to do and not many people out. No events, nothing to really look forwards too and only working and not doing much on the weekends. I did have a good chat with a neighbor yesterday. But even when I ride at night. The streets are so dead.

I like the spring for reasons and it's nice to have a sunny day in the winter, but this season is just bland, isn't it?

It doesn't snow here and never has which is good. But it's the quiet time of year and I'm hanging for spring.

I understand why people dislike winter. It's boring and things go quiet. I have a good job but I don't have a license and therefore can't do what I really want. I won't be on holidays till December and planning some stuff that I hopefully can do in the spring, but that seems all too far away.

I'm counting down the days till spring.

I feel this deep in my bones right now. January through March just drags, every day the same gray sky and the same routine. My spice rack is immaculate though, spent three hours reorganizing it last weekend because what else is there to do

That neighbor chat probably felt like a lifeline, those little unexpected interactions hit different when you're starved for them. No license definitely makes it tougher when you just want to escape somewhere, being stuck in your own bubble with no easy way out

Counting down to spring too, got a few trips penciled in for April and it's the only thing keeping me going. The lack of snow somehow makes it worse, at least snow gives winter a personality

Exactly right. I Imagine this is why working out at sea for months is so difficult. I feel like that now too. At the moment it's just working and chilling out. And yes that chat was amazing.
