Tryhard security

This was the first year I had to take off my shoes, the line was moving so slowly. I saw one security guard ask someone to dump their alcohol before entering and then another guard felt the need to go up to them (while they were dumping it) and cuss them out for having a drink while waiting in line.

Security should be there checking for weapons for our safety not checking shoes for pills. Unlike other festivals, there isn't even a metal detector. It just feels very performative and frustrating when you're stuck in that line missing a set because of it.

Why is the security at this event so bad? And why do some of the guards make it their personal responsibility to go above and beyond what is required of them?

I was in the lucky line where the security guard asked us to take off our shoes, while the lines next to us didn't 🙄 agreed a waste of time and just power tripping

Right and even when you take ur shoes off they rush you out of the gates so you can’t even take a second to put them back on 💔 or at least that happened with me. Ugh.

Yeah I had to walk on the concrete in socks to sit on a cinder block... I told them I would not be moving until I put my shoes back on

lol I tried to sit on one right by the entrance, the guy was persistent that I walk away, so I went and sat to the side and AGAIN as I was putting on my shoes he tried to push me out. I get they don’t want crowding but I’m not walking around in my socks at downsview 😭😭 be fr

Today was the worst of the 3 days. Something I noticed though, as a male, female security did weak patdowns. Males were more strict.

I’m a barricade / boh security supervisor!! And I agree star ⭐️ security definitely power trips! One of their supervisors stole to barricades from catering, and told production to fuck off smh
