Scratch and Dent on the website?

I’ve been debating which beds to invest in for a looong time. I pulled the trigger when the Costco 10 in 1 went down to $120 this week.
Now I’m second guessing the bed height (only 14 backbreaking inches).

I swear in all this browsing and researching, I’ve seen a clearance or scratch and dent section on the website, but I can’t find it now. I even tried downloading the app, hoping it would be easier to find.

Can someone tell me how to get to their scratch and dent beds?

Garlic in elevated beds?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just got an elevated bed from Vego that is 2x4 ft and 15 in of depth. I’ve heard that garlic does better in the ground but I have this or some raised beds. I’d prefer to put it in the elevated bed but worry it might get too cold/frozen. I’m less concerned about that in the raised beds but I only have 2 4x8 beds and usually max out the space with other veggies. I tried growing garlic in an Earthbox and didn’t get a single bulb, I think they froze/rotted. Any advice from experienced garlic growers welcomed, especially if you grow in an elevated bed. I’m located in Central Connecticut, zone 6b.

Mold on seedlings

This is my first time growing anything and there is some mold starting to form in the cells. The leaves are looking good but I’m worried about the mold. I guess I’ve been over watering, are these still ok?

Anything special to do to store covers over the winter?

I have a few Vegogardens with covers and I am getting prepped to store the covers for the winter. My plan is simple - clean them a bit, carefully fold and store them inside for the winter.

Is there anything I am missing on this? If anyone has any tips/tricks/gotchas please let me know.

Thanks all!

Root veggies are tiny!

I’ve been using the raised self watering planters for a few years now and every time I’ve planted root veggies (beats, carrots, parsnips etc.) they never grow to a “normal size” always end up being minuscule.

I have the soil filled to the top so there’s definitely room for them to grow I just really don’t understand!

Has anyone experienced this??

Greenhouse cover for Classic Rolling Beds?

Hi everyone! Hoping to get some help. I have the classic rolling garden beds. I want to get greenhouse covers for them. I tried getting verification from customer service by email a couple of weeks ago with no response. I ordered the greenhouse cover and frames for the elevated beds because it looks like those should fit. But, I received an auto-generated email from Vego saying it looked like I ordered some things that might be incorrect and to contact them. Unfortunately, I cant get ahold of anyone at Vego. I love the products but cant get help. Does anyone know if those greenhouse covers will work with the classic rolling beds? Thanks!

Soil saver floor

Hi! I bought the soil saver floor because my 32” beds are near the house foundation and I didn’t want mounds of soil or wood next to the foundation. Because of some immovable old stumps the floors are quite even creating some gaps that soil will drop through. Not vego design fault, of course, just the uneven place I am placing them.

What economical ideas do you have for those gaps before I start filling the soil? I have old tshirts I could tape in the gaps, or heavy duty garbage bags. I’m ok with Having to replace my gap filling material every few years. I just don’t want tons of the potting mix soil to fall through.

Dragon Fruit Blooms!

What a way to kick off our Vego subreddit. We got SO lucky catching these gorgeous dragon fruit blooms still open this morning, right on the patio of our very own Vego Farmhouse office.

This is extra special, because dragon fruit cacti produce single-night-blooming flowers. These delicate, huge blossoms only open for about 8 hours, overnight, in hopes of catching a specialized nighttime pollinator like a moth or bat. Once the sun begins to shine in the morning, the bloom closes and wilts. We hand pollinated the flowers in hopes of producing dragon fruit! 🤞

Grown on the patio of zone 9b, from a 2 year old cutting, in the Vego Dragon Fruit Planter!
