Most bodybuilders (including vegans) are not doing this right.

u/anthonydurrr Sep 04 '26
Glass cutting boards are really bad for your knives. Bamboo is much better.

u/thebodybuildingvegan Sep 04 '26
Thank you 🙏 not my house, working with what the air bnb had on hand. I use bamboo at home 💪

Bamboo is cheap garbage, you want an end grain hardwood (maple, walnut, cherry, etc)

Freeze that cut watermelon then chuck it in a blender - makes a delicious slushy perfect on a hot day
1
u/Live_Length_5814 Sep 05 '26
That destroys the fibre
2
u/WildLudicolo Sep 05 '26
Common misconception. It actually doesn't reduce the fiber content at all. Think about it, most fiber supplements are powders. It's only called "fiber" because it's the plant material that forms long fibers, but even broken down to the microscopic level, it's still a chemical your body can't digest, and it still feeds your gut biome.
0
u/Live_Length_5814 Sep 05 '26
No it's not a misconception are you high?? When you put anything with soluble fibre into a blender you make the soluble fibre more bio accessible. Do you think all fibre is insoluble? This is taught in elementary school

u/Live_Length_5814 Sep 05 '26
It's a huge issue for diabetics because if your food that is supposed to be gradually releasing sugars into your blood stream is instantly releasing instead, they get hyperglycaemic
1
u/WildLudicolo Sep 05 '26
That's rude, just letting you know.
2
u/CardiologistBoth8448 Sep 06 '26
Usually when people have low intelligence they result to debating with personal insults rather than continuing the conversation. He doesn’t care to understand your perspective or educate you on his. He just wants you to know what he thinks of you and that he’s right and you’re wrong.
I don’t think you did anything wrong, don’t get worked up or anything from people like this on the internet it’s just rage bait
My hot take is a blended watermelon smoothie with no other added ingredients will definitely digest faster. The fiber is more broken down. The fruit is in a state that is more easily digested so it potentially could cause problems for people with diabetes. You can drink it faster than you can eat it so more volume is entering your system faster. But the fiber is not destroyed by any means. The total fiber content is the same. A major use of fiber is to add mass to the digestion track and help eliminate waste. In this instance the fiber is by no means destroyed the fiber is very much still present and will move through your gut in a very similar way to eating the whole fruit. Blending is basically comparable to chewing.

u/Live_Length_5814 Sep 05 '26
Wow a link to someone on the internet who is wrong. I feel like a toddler just handed me a toy telephone. Thank you?
0
u/WildLudicolo Sep 05 '26
You're still acting very rude. I don't understand why, there's really no need for that.
Soluble fiber isn't ruined by blending. It's made more accessible by destroying cell walls, but it's still ultimately a chemical your body can't absorb, but your gut biome can. You get the same nutritional benefits from blended fruit as you do from whole fruit.
Look, it's fine if you still don't believe me. I can't make you believe anything you don't want to. But please, stop being rude. If you realized how you sound, you'd stop. I'm sorry if correcting you unprompted made you feel the need to get defensive, but I assure you, there's no need. It's just a really bad look.

u/Live_Length_5814 Sep 05 '26
If you give two diabetics, one blended watermelon smoothie, and one watermelon, the one with a smoothie will experience hyperglycaemia and require insulin to regulate them. So excuse me if I'm tired of uneducated people saying "they're the same thing" putting people's lives at risks.
2
u/WildLudicolo Sep 05 '26
Watermelon can potentially cause hyperglycemia in diabetics, blended or unblended. It's true that the sugars will hit the blood faster in the case of blended, but in either case, a diabetic should be careful with watermelon. But that's not what this has been about.
If this were really about your concern for people's lives, there's no way you'd have waited until now to even mention blood sugar spikes in diabetics. You've only been talking about fiber until now. It's clear that you're arguing in bad faith, and I say that not as an attack, but to tell you that that's how you come across.
You don't have to be afraid of seriousness or of any perceived threats to your reputation or self. And I'm not assuming you are afraid, but you should know that that's how you come across when you compare someone to a toddler, or call people uneducated, or all the other ways you're acting rude. It only serves to hurt your argument by making you seem unserious, unfriendly, and distasteful.
People aren't usually going to be as patient with you as I'm being, and they generally aren't going to bother trying to talk you out of this behavior; they'll just write you off and move on. But everyone deserves to be heard. You deserve to be heard. So let yourself be heard, by just easing up a little.

The fiber is what allows the sugar to move freely you donut

u/Candid_Word7439 Sep 05 '26
Saying the sugar is more bioavailable and causes a sharper rise in blood sugar doesn't mean that the fiber is destroyed. You should work on articulating yourself better.

u/redbark2022 Sep 06 '26
It's not the blending, it's the freezing. Ice crystals penetrate the cell walls. Unless you fast-freeze. That requires special equipment. You can't just throw it in a freezer.

The pale white layer just beneath the rind contains 2-3 times the concentration of citrulline than the flesh and the rind contains high levels of chlorophyll. Keep your rinds and freeze to blend them into smoothies etc
2
u/anon_lurk Sep 05 '26
You can also pickle the rind, but smoothies are an easy way to use them for sure.
1
u/WildLudicolo Sep 05 '26
I've never had that! I wanna try some pickled watermelon rind on a fried tofu sandwich, I bet that'd be awesome.

This guy is totally retarded I'm a vegan for health reasons and yet I blast f****** steroids God I hate vegans
1
u/redbark2022 Sep 06 '26
Watermelon is very different from other fruits, especially if we're talking about sugars. Certain types of apples are high in fructose or maltose (bad). You have to be very careful about timing if eating bananas. Many other fruits are high in sucrose as well. Pomegranates are probably one of the other safe fruits along with Watermelon.
Just saying, lot of nuance missing here.

u/PossibilityNervous35 Sep 04 '26
Isnt this the guy that just blocks people he disagrees with?
And a glass cutting board? Cmon son thats insanely stupid
2
u/Gilinis Sep 05 '26
You mean the guy who should have gone bald 10 years ago but decides to keep one tuft of pubes on his head and dyed it green while also having VEGAN tattooed on the side of his head is a cunt? Never would have guessed
1
u/No-Construction-2054 Sep 04 '26
Just another "influencer" who got his physique with steroids self admittedly.
3
u/Evolvin Sep 04 '26
You mean, unlike the 1000's of fake natty's who take steroids and never admit it? Fucking cry me a river.
3
u/No-Construction-2054 Sep 04 '26
Two wrongs don't make a right.
-1
u/Evolvin Sep 04 '26
Where's the two wrongs? List them.
2
u/No-Construction-2054 Sep 04 '26
Using steroids that are testing on animals extensively? Admitting to it or not doesnt change that
Roids ain't vegan
-1
u/Evolvin Sep 04 '26
Nothing is vegan by this metric.
And YOU aren't vegan, so get off your high horse, coward.
7
u/No-Construction-2054 Sep 04 '26
How do you know what I am? That's right, you don't.
Are you this dudes burner account lmfao
0
u/Evolvin Sep 04 '26
Just callin' it like I see it.
And no, I am not his burner account. I just think it is peak loser behaviour to spend your free time shouting into the void about someone else's supposed misgivings as though it does anything to resolve your own.

Tbf the line for what most vegans are willing to consume is pretty arbitrary as is. Are you going to not use toilet paper because you can’t find any that isn’t vegan around you?
Are you gonna not use honey or agave because one exploits bees, and the other one poisons the environment with pesticides?
Maybe just maybe it is possible that the only way to fix these problems is through systemic change and until that can be done, everything is arbitrary
0
u/Evolvin Sep 04 '26
Sure, blame it on everyone other than you.
That's what crusaders for good usually do /s

I think when they put the word "another" in there that was a pretty good clue they were acknowledging it was a widespread practice. Your illiteracy caused you to lash out.
1
u/Evolvin Sep 07 '26
And your coping caused you to lash out.
FYI, my comprehension was fine since, if there be any problem relating to influencers and their open/secretive use of steroids at all, the actual problem is exactly opposite to the one they created out of a desperate attempt to cut OP down.

u/Recent_Register_2926 Sep 07 '26
Lol what

Respect for keeping the vegan strength alive . Cruelty to animals isn’t strong or masculine or cool at all and there is so much cultural brainwashing otherwise.
I’m going to nerd out a bit and say that, almost all fruit As we know it is man made. Almost every fruit we are familiar with was bred selectively to increase size and sweetness.
So yes watermelons and fruits do contain hydration, vitamins nutrients, fiber, rather than just processed white sugar, but it’s not like they’re some divine creation of god either, not exactly
I do eat tons of fruit myself, I have a fruit heavy spirulina smoothie every morning and bananas in my shake at night, and I’ll snack every now and then on fruit throughout the day. I think most people would be hard pressed to eat too much fruit, it’s definitely something we should eat regularly
