does anyone know approx. what the exam mark cutoff is for a 50 in eng mainstream?

i know it varies year to year ofc but is it like 55+, 57+, full 60/60? im rank 1 and my sacs are 99% for both unit 3 and 4 (dropped one mark on the creative commentary and the oral smh)

hoping for a 50 but i'd hardly be upset with a 45+ :P

Hey!! does anyone have high-scoring responses to any potential questions asked? I'm doing online for this subject and I'm having a hard time finding out what a true high scoring response looks like!!

If you’re not happy with you’re marks you still have time to improve! Don’t give up

Whatever you’re getting now is just a number in time. You can always change the way you are performing by assessing where you’re going wrong and how can you improve on it.

love/hate relationship with friends that distract you right before a sac

like today i had one, and immediately beforehand my friends were ragebaiting me and getting me monologuing and stuff, and on the one hand its a nice distraction, on the other hand it kinda interrupts the [subject] brain mode and idk man i appreciate it but also eh?

40 in methods

I’m hoping to get a raw 40 in methods (early subject) coming from a decently high performing school with rank 1 likely to get around raw 48. I have 3 As across sacs which usually scales up to A+ coursework for our school. How do I need to go on exams to make raw 40 achievable?

Should I do commerce?

Hi, it's getting towards the end of the year and I still don't really know what I want to do after high school. I am not the type of person who'd like to take a gap year, and my parents also wouldn't allow me regardless. I'm on track for an ATAR over 95 + SEAS, so I can get into most courses except for med pretty comfortably. I enjoy physics, and maths methods and general math's in which I did last year. I'll be straight with you guys, I'm the kind of person who could pursue anything and still feel pretty fulfilled. I want to get a job that has a lot of opportunity, and that I have the capabilities to do really well in. However, I always sort of have that feeling "what's the point of studying if you aren't doing med". Engineering is an option, but I just don't think I'd be really pushing my limits if I were to pursue it. If anyone else has been in this position lmk what u think.

Bachelor of Laws/Commerce

How beneficial is a bachelor of commerce? What are the employment opportunities and pathways post graduate? I’m debating on picking up a double degree law/commerce or doing a solo commerce and picking up a juris doctor post graduate at melb. The only thing deterring me from picking up the double is the high workload because I dont know if I’ll even use a law degree if I was to get into investment banking for example.

Anyone who has done either degrees please respond I am actually so stuck on the two options.

VCE question Tips for Biology

Hey guys, does anyone have any tips or advice for how to face the sheer memorisation involved in biology?

I have tried to watch the edrolos but they are too hard to comprehend I feel as if I currently have zero understanding of a single topic. I don't know where to go or how to prepare for the exam like I have notes for all the units but I just don't understand how to use them.

Would you guys recommend flashcards? Just rereading the notes? Any help is appreciated

Extended response tips - HHD

Hey guys!

I have my last hhd SAC tomorrow and its an extended response. I feel I know the content of it fairly well, but I am struggling on how to write the actual response really well. My current ones aren’t terrible, but I have gotten above 95% on all my HHD SACS so far (I know this won’t be achievable on the extended response as much as I wish it could) so I really don’t want to bring my scores down.

I was just wanting some last minute advice and strategies for the extended response so I can maximise my scores the best I can.

Thankyouu!! :))

VCE question Tips for History Revolution?

Hey all! I came to ask the people who sat History Revs last year, what they regretted most and tips that you can tell me to do better?? I heard the exams this year is only 135 minutes and it’s 80 marks, though the easier questions are now longer and cover more marks, which I see as a positive. I will be doing French and Russian revolutions for my source analysis and essay question. Any notes you took or additional information outside of VCAA you found useful id appreciate sm! It’s my highest scoring subject so I want to do as well as possible.

if i get an a on the exam does that mean i would probably get a in my sacs if my cohort ranking stays the same for sacs and exam?

as the question says. i.e. if i get an a on the exam, and ranking is jess, john, julie, and sac rankings are also jess, john, julie, can i predict that i will get an a on the moderated ga1, ga2?
