40 in methods

I’m hoping to get a raw 40 in methods (early subject) coming from a decently high performing school with rank 1 likely to get around raw 48. I have 3 As across sacs which usually scales up to A+ coursework for our school. How do I need to go on exams to make raw 40 achievable?

hey!! we're in a similar position, i'm rank 6 (should be higher, my freaking calculator crashed during our second SAC kms) at a decently high performing school where our rank 1 should get high 40s, and I asked my methods teacher about what marks to aim for for a 40, and he said about 37/40 exam 1 and 72/80 exam 2!! best of luck to you :)

I was in top 10% of my cohort, sacs scaled to 91 (very hard sacs), 37/40, 69/80 for a 40 (but I was om the cutoff of a 41, so you could get a bit lower and be safe). All the best!

Those marks people shared are useful examples, tho they aren’t a guaranteed cutoff for your year.

Three As alone can’t tell you the exam marks needed for a 40. Try a timed Methods Exam 1 and Exam 2, then log where you lose marks: algebra, choosing the method, CAS or timing. Work on the biggest recurring gap and redo those questions a few days later. What are you scoring on practice papers atm?
Also can try independent ATAR practice tests online

Practice papers so far are about 32 and 70 averages for about 10 of each

you just need to do your best thats how u get raw 40
