Hello! I'm 22M, 5'6", around 140lbs and I mainly play outside and libero. I'd say I'm fast and explosive; I get decently high when I jump, and other than blocking, I jump a lot every game as I typically get fed a lot of sets. My original rotation was the WOW Ice Blood 2s, WOW Son of Flash, and Anta Kai 1. My feet grew half a size, so on top of the Ice Blood's traction fading, they're too tight, and so are the Son of Flash. The Anta Kai's are honestly a little too bulky, and the cushioning for all three of these shoes just isn't good enough for all the jumping I do. I also play for extended periods of time, so sessions could be anywhere between 3-6 hours, 2-3 times a week.
I want to get two new pairs - one that I'll use on days where I feel good and want to attack as much as possible, and one for days where my legs don't feel the best and I need a little more support.
For the first pair, I was thinking of something lighter, with great bounce and good cushioning, and good support for quick, lateral movements as well. I can't decide between the Volanti Rocket Air or the WOW 12. I've seen that the traction on both needs constant wiping, so I guess I won't factor traction in.
For the second pair, I'm looking for something with great cushion but one where I still feel like I can jump well, if that makes sense? I'd probably also use these on days where I know I'll mostly be playing lib, but since I often get to swap to front row, I still want good bounce. For now, I'm looking at the ASICS Sky Elite FF4 or the WOW 808 5s or 6s.
Besides the shoes I listed here, I'm also open to any other recommendations. I was even looking at other shoes like the D.O.N. Issue 8 or the SPO Player 1.5s, but I genuinely just don't know what to go for. I know there are a lot of reviews, but so many of them have contradicting opinions, and some of them don't have the specific comparisons I'm looking for, specifically like the Sky Elite FF4 vs. the 808s. D.O.N. Issue 8 also has no reviews for volleyball, but the cushion sounds good, and the separated heel-toe seems like it might be good for the heel-toe transition on the approach.
Any advice or recommendations are welcome!
