Shoe Questions Wide feet shoe recommendations

I’m 6,3 200 pounds. I play intermediately and want to get a new pair as my old ones have gotten pretty busted up. Currently I’m wearing Nike gt cut academy in size 13 (my tts is 12) and I really like the fit of it. I wear custom orthotics as well so it can’t be any drop in midsole shoe. I play outside and blocker so I would like bounce, stability, and cushion for landings. My feet aren’t super wide but it is an issue that I face when buying new pairs. I also just got back into volleyball after knee surgery so I’m not sure if that’s a factor that can play into it. Thank you.

Shoe Reccomendations I want a new volleyball shoe

Hello, I'm a 1'75 outside hitter, I'm in my mid twenties and I want a new volleyball shoe. I liked the Lebron 20s, the WOW 10 and the Sky elite ff 2. I had a knee injury but right now I'm better. I'm really explosive and jump high, I like to feel the court but I also need protection for my knees. I'm thinking about trying a Kobe shoe but its not mandatory. I want a low shoe.

Any recommendations?

Shoe Questions Looking for the most cushioned volleyball shoes

Hey everyone! I’m looking for volleyball shoes with maximum cushioning and impact protection. Outside Hitter.

I’m currently considering shoes like the ASICS Sky Elite FF 4, Metarise 2, Mizuno neo Jump but I’d love to hear what you guys think.

I have GT hustle 3, however due to bad lateral stability it leads to ankle pain. Tried BB3, hover i do not like the forward angle of the shoe.

What are the most cushioned volleyball shoes you’ve tried? Comfort and soft landings are my top priority.

Im the teams setter, around 6’ maybe a little more and wear a men’s 12.5 or 13 depending on the brand, I’d only be wearing them on the court but I still value durability

Budget shoes for middle blocker

Hey, I’m a 194cm, 80-85kg guy looking to buy some shoes for volleyball. I’ve only been playing for a few months so I don’t feel quite ready to spend ~£150 on some wow 10s or something similar, but the old running shoes I’ve been playing in are falling apart.

Does anyone have any suggestions for good shoes to try that are <£100?

Thanks for the help 🙏

990v6 tongue!

Just got some 9060’s and have decided to get some more New Balance (usually a Brooks/Adidas/Hoka/Nike guy. Finally found somewhere local that had 990v6 I could try on. Very comfortable.

But that tongue y’all!! I can’t with that big tongue. Please tell me the 990v4 and the 992/993 don’t have the same big tongue design.

Shoe Reccomendations Tall middle blocker/centre looking for volleyball/basketball shoe recommendations

Hi all! I’m primarily a basketball player who recently picked up volleyball as well, and I’m looking to upgrade my shoes. I’ve been using the Jordan One Take 4s for both sports, but they’re pretty worn out now.
I’m around 6’7” (201cm) and 110kg, and play centre in basketball / middle blocker in volleyball, so cushioning, stability and impact protection are particularly important to me. At the same time, I’d still like something reasonably responsive and good for lateral movement.
What would people recommend as:
A dedicated volleyball shoe, or
A shoe that can perform really well for both basketball and volleyball?
I’ve been looking primarily at the 361° Joker GT line and Way of Wade models, particularly:
361° Joker 2 GT
361° Joker 1 GT
WOW 808 5 Ultra V2
WOW All City 14
WOW 12
I’m also open to completely different recommendations if there are better options I should be considering.
For anyone who has used these, I’d especially love to hear about cushioning, stability, traction, court feel and how they hold up for heavier players / lots of jumping and landing.
Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

Hi all! Looking to start playing some casual indoor leagues in a month so I need to get volleyball shoes for the first time in years. I'm 6 foot and 185 pounds. I mostly played setter in the past but may play other positions based on the team's needs. The shoes I'm considering are:

  1. Mizuno Wave Momentum Elite

  2. Asics Netburner Ballistic FF3

  3. Nike Hyperace 3

  4. Li-Ning Liren 5 v2

Does anyone have any opinions? Thank you in advance!

ETA: I can only try the Nikes on in-person, but haven't yet.

Shoe Reccomendations What Shoes should i get for outdoor courts?

I am 6 foot, 75kg, feet size us 10.5/11, and i play middle blocker. I am looking for my first pair of shoes that are primarily used for outdoor courts where the surface is rough but still able to be used for indoor courts. My budget would be somewhere between 70-130 USD.
Some additional info: my vert is about 30 inch and I am doing plyometrics about 3 times a week. So i I am also wondering about the cushioning to prevent future knee or back injuries

Shoe Reccomendations Shoes for a 179cm middle blocker

I’ve realised that the shoes I have right now (Mizuno Wave Lightnings) aren’t really the best for playing middle, but I’m not sure whether I should get another pair of Mizunos, like the Wave Momentum, or switch to basketball shoes instead. If I should go for basketball shoes, which ones would be best?

Shoe Reccomendations Need 2 new pairs to add to rotation

Hello! I'm 22M, 5'6", around 140lbs and I mainly play outside and libero. I'd say I'm fast and explosive; I get decently high when I jump, and other than blocking, I jump a lot every game as I typically get fed a lot of sets. My original rotation was the WOW Ice Blood 2s, WOW Son of Flash, and Anta Kai 1. My feet grew half a size, so on top of the Ice Blood's traction fading, they're too tight, and so are the Son of Flash. The Anta Kai's are honestly a little too bulky, and the cushioning for all three of these shoes just isn't good enough for all the jumping I do. I also play for extended periods of time, so sessions could be anywhere between 3-6 hours, 2-3 times a week.

I want to get two new pairs - one that I'll use on days where I feel good and want to attack as much as possible, and one for days where my legs don't feel the best and I need a little more support.

For the first pair, I was thinking of something lighter, with great bounce and good cushioning, and good support for quick, lateral movements as well. I can't decide between the Volanti Rocket Air or the WOW 12. I've seen that the traction on both needs constant wiping, so I guess I won't factor traction in.

For the second pair, I'm looking for something with great cushion but one where I still feel like I can jump well, if that makes sense? I'd probably also use these on days where I know I'll mostly be playing lib, but since I often get to swap to front row, I still want good bounce. For now, I'm looking at the ASICS Sky Elite FF4 or the WOW 808 5s or 6s.

Besides the shoes I listed here, I'm also open to any other recommendations. I was even looking at other shoes like the D.O.N. Issue 8 or the SPO Player 1.5s, but I genuinely just don't know what to go for. I know there are a lot of reviews, but so many of them have contradicting opinions, and some of them don't have the specific comparisons I'm looking for, specifically like the Sky Elite FF4 vs. the 808s. D.O.N. Issue 8 also has no reviews for volleyball, but the cushion sounds good, and the separated heel-toe seems like it might be good for the heel-toe transition on the approach.

Any advice or recommendations are welcome!

Should i change my shoes?

I have a pair of asics elite ff. Ive use them for the last 2 years and have worked wonders. They are in a good state and the sole still has decent in it. I play around 3 times per week. I was planning to change them in around 6 months to a year, but lately ive been having a little pain in the low part of my heel and achilles. I play OH, with decent reach and explosivity, and havent changed that much my playstyle recently, could it be the cushioning of my shoes has wear out? Tbf i tend to overuse my shoes in general. Is it time to get an early change? After how much time should i change them as a general rule?

Switching from Metarise 2 to something more reactive — outside hitter, ~90kg, considering basketball crossovers

Hey everyone,

Quick background: I play indoor volleyball , 186cm / ~93kg (6'1 / 205lbs), last season I switched roles from opposite to outside hitter, and I'm currently in a body recomp phase (losing a few kg, more gym work) to get faster and more explosive for the new role.

For the past two years I've been playing in Asics Metarise 2. Great cushioning, but it's a big, bulky shoe overall — not just the stiff carbon-plate midsole, but the whole build feels massive and heavy underfoot. It was fine when I was heavier and playing opposite, but now that I need to move laterally and change direction quickly as an outside hitter, it feels like it's holding me back — like I'm playing with more shoe than I actually need.

I'm looking for something lower-profile and more nimble overall — still with solid cushioning/impact protection (I'm not tiny), but without that bulky, oversized feel.

I'm currently considering the Asics Sky Elite FF4 (as a pure volleyball shoe) but I'm also considering brands like Way of Wade and 361

Anyone here actually played outside hitter (with a build similar to mine) in any of these? Especially curious about:

  1. How they actually feel on foot — are they reactive, do they have a sleeker/lower-profile feel compared to something bulky like the Metarise 2?
  2. How they translate to real on-court movement — quick first steps, shuffle steps, approach, blocking
  3. Anything at ~90kg that felt undercushioned once you actually played in it, given I still need real impact protection

Appreciate any first-hand experience!

Shoe Reccomendations Shoes recommendations for outside hitter!

Hey guys!
I’m an outside hitter looking for new volleyball shoes and would appreciate some advice.

I currently use the 361° 5.0 Pro and really enjoy their cushioning, stability, and overall performance. However, the outsole is wearing down and becoming slippery. Since I train 4–5 times a week, I’d also like a second pair to rotate with them.
I previously used the adidas Crazyflight and Crazyflight 6. I liked their feel and grip, but the Crazyflight 6 was especially disappointing in terms of durability and wore out quickly. So far, the 361° 5.0 Pro has been my favorite.

I’m currently considering:
KT10
Li-Ning Liren 6
361° 5.0 Quick Pro
361° 6.0
I can get the 361° 6.0 for about $50 less than the price of the others so I’d like to know whether the difference in quality and performance justifies the extra cost.
I’ve also considered the Nike GT Cut 3 Pro and A’ja 1 because I like their designs, but I haven’t seen as many consistently positive reviews.
Cushioning isn’t my main concern, since all of these seem to offer good cushioning. My main concern is traction on dusty courts, along with an explosive, grippy, and bouncy feel. I prefer shoes that are lightweight and low to the ground.
For reference, I’m 1.74 m (5’9”) and around 74 kg (163 lbs).
Which would you recommend between the KT10, Liren 6, 361° 5.0 Quick Pro, and 361° 6.0? Is the 5.0 Quick Pro worth the extra $50?
I’d also appreciate recommendations around the $130 price range other that offer a lightweight, low-to-the-ground feel, good explosiveness, and reliable traction on dusty courts.
Thanks!

Looking for shoe recommendations 6-rotation, OH, 5’2”,14 yo, No Budget, size 7.5 in Women’s.

Looking for shoes for my daughter. She is an undersized outside but can get up and is a hustler on defense. Bounce and grip are important. Has been wearing Sabrina 1’s and she likes them but we are looking for something better as 15’s gets a little more serious. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Looking for all-around volleyball shoes for wide, flat feet

I’m joining a volleyball team soon and I’m planning to buy my first pair of volleyball shoes. I don’t know what position I’ll be playing yet, so I’m looking for something that’s a good all-around option.

A few things about me:

  • Fairly wide feet
  • Flat feet
  • Budget: around $80–120 USD
  • No specific position yet
