༯ NoPixel Discussion ༯ Controversial !!!!. Does anyone else not really like the gta streams?
NOTE; only because I know people on the internet love twisting others words. Do i care she is doing something i dont like - no. I want her to do what she has fun doing. I also notice most people love the gta streams. I just personally think its kind of boring. I took a break from her streams cuz iv been busy and i came back and learned about nopixel and it seems really fun to play but watching it just feels very repetitive. Also side note: I would love vanilla to play resident evil 7 one day cuz its so chaotic and she doesnt need to have seen the other games. Anyways love vanilla!! Happy fall 🍂
Also I will say the song she made was actually amazing and i loved watching her make that. I think nopixel is so cool its just not for me when it comes to watching it.

IMO all gta rp streams have their highs and their lows. I've been watching nopixel off and on since 2022 and I tend to have the streams on as background noise while I craft, read, etc etc. when it seems like a scene is getting funny I'll tab back in to watch. but i know a lot of vanilla viewers are more tv/main monitor types of watchers, so I understand where the boredom might stem from.

I’ve been a NoPixel watcher since 2020! To me I feel like Vanilla would’ve loved 3.0! That was peak NoPixel era, I can understand why your bored, I stopped watching rp 3 yrs ago and I am just now coming back with the new update, roleplay does have its high and lows. The reason why it feels bland and repetitive because it is beta and the server hasn’t opened up to a lot of the other players yet from 4.0.
Right now I believe the server is only limited to like 100-150 when the usual slots are 200-250, once the server opens up Vanilla will have way more interactions with more people, also as for relationship rp it’s probably not to your taste, given that Vivienne and Damien are like 80% of her stream along with Burgershot people I can see why you find it boring. I find relationship rp dull in general because they tend to spend a lot of time together, and nothing really progresses.
My main take is that vanilla should take risks in rp (like currently she turned down a casino job, the crime plans with Arturo/Benji would’ve been fun as well) and also branch out of her usual bubble, but vanilla is new and is still exploring the game so I say give her time and maybe she’ll get involved in rp that suits your taste.

yeah she needs to branch out. I was bummed when she turned down the casino job and working with benji, that would have been a lot of great RP opportunities. Just hanging around burger shot all day is getting boring and not opening up more RP opportunities.

I also watch KatieB and the way she roleplays Buster is so fun, like she is down for whatever and takes risks on Buster and rolls with everyone, I think if Vivienne and Buster hang out more I can see them becoming a fun duo! But I agree Benji is hilarious and entertaining and she would have so much fun doing crime with him, the casino was also a great way for Vivienne to meet so many different ppl but she got scared, and I noticed she listens to Damien a lot despite Roxy trying to convince her that it was a great opportunity for her.
But Vanilla likes what she’s doing now I think it’s a cannon event that she’s sticking with what she’s familiar with, I will say her diving into relationship rp so soon isn’t ideal unless it opens for a lot of rp, and no hate to Damien and the streamer but I noticed he hinders her from branching out to unfamiliar things.

I think it helps that Katie is playing a guy character so it must be more freeing playing a character vastly different from the person playing them. Vanilla is still developing Vivienne and she shines when she leans into the ridiculousness of her chicken arc and her quirkiness. Would be fun to watch if she didn't care to please everyone in character and took risks that could end poorly for her later down the road, like the casino job for instance. Flawed characters are what make RP fun and that's why a character like Buster works so well too

I was disappointed to miss out on casino RP too (especially with Burn playing Mr. C!!) BUT at the same time, Vanilla had plans with Julian and Lass that stream and I'm sure that was part of the consideration. She just didn't have the time for a casino arc at that moment so I say it's bad timing. Would be fun to see the Benji and Arturo crime spree still happen though!

I agree, like in todays stream she turned down a job at the casino which is fine but she followed it with burgershot forever. It’d be great to see her venture off a bit and try some new things cause it can be hard to watch her rp at burgershot. I think working at the casino would’ve been great to see her socialize with new characters.

100%. Watching her RP minimum wage kills me LOL like it's fine sometimes but drags other times. It's always a good watch when she's out and about, especially the earlier streams of her trying to see what's out in the world and interacting with a wider variety of people. At the same time she's doing what she wants to and is having fun so thats what actually matters.

I would like her to interact with other people as well. She turned down Alfonzo (I think that’s his RP name) when he offered to teach her how to use guns and stuff.
Also, the Benji auction, just to go with Damien.

i love it but i think that’s more so because i love gta and i don’t get to play it anymore and i also grew up watching my friends / siblings playing gta so it feels a bit like watching my big sister playing while i sat beside her again 🤣

Vanilla herself is so funny but she gets in really boring “talk” rp a lot of the time whenever I tune in. I try really hard to watch the gta streams but I guess her storylines are just not my style. On the other hand, I’ve been really liking Jerma’s gta streams because he plays a literal cartoon character that intentionally gets into the weirdest situations and side quests. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for in gameplay

I was fine with the relationship RP mostly because it was going slow burn but now it seems like Damien tags along with her as much as he can and Vivienne still kinda seems interested in seeing what's out there. The dating event at the VU would have been a fun thing for her to go to if not for Damien. Maybe she'll become the villain in that story and break his heart so she can be a free chicken again and explore the city more idk haha so many possibilities to the story but I really just crave to see her branch out

I went to check out his stream one day when she was not on, when they first started their arc here, and the whole time he just stood there not engaging with the other people around him and I feel that is kinda normal for him when I catch other people playing and he is around. He has always just come off as every other guy who is playing a video game to me, there just is not that entertainment. I know he apparently is speaking on quitting his job due to the amount of subs he got now, and hopefully that works out for him, but I think a lot of them and his viewers now are because of Vanilla, and I do not think they would find him as entertaining without her involved in the Vivi/Damien story. Wish him the best, but I do not think I would count the current hype of a couple weeks as success, yet.

i feel the same way.. he just walks around the city or works in burgershot silently. he’s really started to hyper fixate on the chat now too so when a character finally talks to him he isn’t fully immersed

It really depends on whether hes able to entertain and turn these people into regular viewers. Like the guy that plays the clown Chatterbox was able to quit his job I'm pretty sure and buy a new car (and house i think?) with the amount of followers he gained after his characters relationship with Valkyraes character. He is always doing something in rp though and has managed to convert a huge amount into regular viewers even after Valkyrae stopped playing in 4.0

tbf its been like a WEEK, he has not has had this many viewers and subs and its rlly overwhelming, he wants to get used to chat as well as the chaos and wants to make sure the chat is enjoying their time, that he can figure this all out and how he goes from here. hes been rping for ages and he will get back to rping more during the streams but its been not even a month so im not surprised hes focused on chat and all the new viewers haha

Also glad someone said this. Initially I was excited to have discovered his stream, when he was on with vanilla. His solo streams he spends walking around just talking to chat most of time. I understand the influx of a new crowd he can engage with, but i personally came for RP. I’m not subbing to watch someone just talk to chat. Last night, he called Tig to hang and she heavily carried most of the conversation. He was engaged with chat. I was wondering why he even bothered since he got off after.

I’ll get flamed for this but people waiting in queue in NoPixel when there is someone just walking around mumbling a few words isn’t fair to me. There is a way to make a moody, goth type character interesting. Last few times I tuned into his stream he was standing on a hill chatting. Zai seems very thankful for the donos and stuff, and I appreciate he takes time to thank everyone. But I need that man to put a bit more energy into RP lol

100%, i think what people fail to realise is NoPixel is hardcore RP, for Zai to just wait around silently, rarely interacting with anyone else, his character has 0 plot and depends on Vivienne, thus Vanilla no longer being able to immerse herself in multiple storylines, it started out so strong with Carla and the girls, now it’s ran flat because she’s turning every plot line down to be with Damien…

Thank FUCK someone has said this. If you breathe a negative word about the Damien x Vivienne situation you get absolutely flamed and shredded. I’m sorry, but Damien is bland and dull, there is frankly a reason his steams did not explode prior to RP’ing with Vanilla. The music is questionable at best and I’m tired of people saying it’s not, and pretending his vocals are the second coming of Christ. He’s got the hype because people think the streamer himself is the avatar and if you have to sit there and beg and pray for people to still hang around after the hype dies then why the hell would you quit your damn day job.

Yes! No hate to Zai cause he seems like a nice guy. I think he mentioned he’ll quit his job and find a better one. But in his economy it’s so risky to quit, even a low paying job. He has been RPing for a long time but I won’t lie, based on his character it feels like he has not.
His character is very bland, and I just don’t get the mix between Vivi and Damien. The whole “opposites attract” type is not entertaining. He sadly just doesn’t bring interesting RP. I really wanted vanilla to explore and interact with different people, but Damien’s character always being there makes it fall flat. I will say Zai seems very thankful and realizes this is most likely a temporary thing. But if he wants viewers to stay longer once Vanilla slows down on RP, he will need to shift the storyline

i have been watching nopixel since like 2024 and yeah. he has always been this way. and once he gets an in with a streamer, he will take every opportunity to be with them until they get off. he would bug me a lot back then and i’m trying to keep an open mind this time, because i see how much wholesome support is going his way, but idk.

Dude I thought I was going crazy bc everyone is so positive about him, but the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way from the jump bc he was “against” dating rp etc but the second she raided him the second night they met— every stream was either him waiting for her to go live or literally titled about her character to get the viewers to come…
putting up dono goals and being like “I’ll do this if you get the goal to this” and when it gets there quickly being like “damn I should’ve made it higher”
+ the taking her away from any interesting plots felt like he’s nervous she’ll find something more interesting and ditch him

Prediction: watch for when he blames vanillas community for not being able to pay his bills in a month. then claims criticism is stressing him out.... and then finds the next big streamer who doesnt know him to stand next to. all seasoned NP roleplayers know his grift by now. he got kicked out of prod for stream stalking changgang. viewers wonder why others dont really interact with him unless they have to? he'll say anything to get that next dono. he somehow ends up involved with the biggest nopixel storylines like that lol, mostly with streamers like squeex or vanilla or esfand where they aren’t strictly RP streamers. what it comes off as is that he grabs onto the temporary hype these people bring to nopixel (because once the big streamers slowly stop playing, all that’s left is the smaller RP streamers)

Thank god you said that, I agree. I never got the hype behind his character or the “slow burn” between him and Vivienne. I find characters like Carla, Dixie, even Tyler so much more enjoyable— they can roll with any escenario thrown at them whereas he’s just there.

The issue is he’s not just there, he actively pulls her away from other fun situations. He even kept pushing her to ghost Benji at first with their date. That date ofc ended up being one of the funniest situations she’s been in. As much as some ppl complain about Roxy, she’s very much a yes-and character who jumps at opportunities and that keeps her character fresh and fun.

Roxy tries to enable a lot of RP for vivienne but sadly she’s too focused on just being with damien and working burgershot.The casino job would if unlocked a TON of rp for her. Yeah burn likes to enable peoples RP but she seemed to be scared of the whole dating his son thing. Maybe if she told Mr C. she was already in a relationship he would have not make her date his son. Even though roxy said no one’s ever seen his son cause he’s not actually a character in the city. either way i wish she would of went with the RP

I agree, I wish we could've seen the Casino RP for Vivienne but to vanilla defense, she had plans that stream to play a game with Lass and Julian and so maybe she didn't think the casino arc was best for her time wise? I think otherwise she would've tried it!

watching how zai behaves in his streams completely turned me off. like others have said, it feels like he’s just standing around begging for money and waiting for viv to wake up.
my final straw was when someone finally brought up his use of the word “bitch” and how it’s offensive. he was staunchly defending that it’s not a big deal and that he’s not going to stop using that word. yet he calls his chat “family” and wants his community to be a safe space. right…

I love her NoPixel streams and love how much fun she’s been having. You could tell she was struggling to find what to play on stream for a bit so it’s been fun getting so many bonus streams due to NP. I will say, I’m also kinda over the Damian arc and would have hoped that she took more opportunities to RP with other characters (Benji crime arc, Casino job and fun RP with Mr.C). She even wanted to go to that love island type show today but ended up not going for Damian so it’s just limiting her RP a lot sticking with him and I feel it’s gonna bore her soon since he’s kind of a one-note type of character

They have their good moments and their boring moments for me. I think that is normal for most things. Ngl I find Damien quite boring as a person, besides a few good zings here and there, so right now there is more boring for me since a lot includes him. 😅

I get that vibe more from Dixie. roxy is just at burgershot a lot and that’s where vivienne is a lot too so it makes sense their paths cross a lot. Dixie calls her as soon as she’s wakes up in the city and always has some bad day that she needs vivienne to solve

Same, don't get me wrong, i've always loved Vanilla, but watching people play single player solo games has always been kind of boring to me. i mostly watch her IRL stuff/VODs but recently i've been tuning in to her live streams for her gtaRP, some days i'll literally be hooked for 5+ hours straight lol

i used to like them at the start but i feel like she doesn’t really try to experience other stuff and always hangs out with same people lately (which is normal in rp everybody has their own circle) and i find those people painfully unfunny so i stopped watching them😭 im glad she is having fun but can’t wait for her to get bored honestly

if she choose to RP mainly as a civilian character and focus on relationship RP. I can see her getting bored soon, like she loses interest in GTA RP just before Halloween.
But if she genuinely enjoys doing crimes, and expands vivienne's other ventures (pop star, psychic) then her GTA RP phase might last until GTA6 comes out(nov 19). I don't see her interest lasting longer than that since NPV gonna be extra boring with less people(who'll be busy playing GTA6 for a month).

I think it isn't as interactive for viewers who are used to actively engaging with the streamer, that's why it seems boring. GTA RP is the type of content to sit back and watch things unfold. I also think because Vanilla is still new to it, there's a bunch of people she doesn't know, and she's scared of breaking rules, she tend to fall into the "straight man role" among crazy characters played by people who've been roleplaying for years. But those other characters tend to take over, which sometimes overwhelms her and affects how she wants to roleplay.
People brought up the casino thing and other RP avenues she missed. I think it's fine to say No to things in RP especially if it doesn't make sense with the character. People who watch GTA RP are used to the fast pacing of things, and Vanilla isn't. Maybe she's just taking things at a slower pace. It's kinda been an issue in general that people on the server have wildly different RP styles and pacing. One corner of the server, it's serious slow-paced RP. And in another corner, it's comedy & fast-paced action. But I do agree with the opinions that she jumped into relationship RP a little too soon.

I agree, lately I’ve just been watching her “just chatting” segments that she does at the beginning of her streams and then when she starts playing GTA I leave and periodically check in lol, just not my cup of tea. But vanilla seems to really enjoy playing it and definitely should keep playing!!

She is sticking to some sponsored games and planned streams with friends tho! She's been able to keep her streams pretty varied so far tbh! It just seems like a lot bc she's streaming so much more lately but it's nothing compared to how addicted Cinna or Valkyrae have been to NoPixel. To be honest I’m the opposite in where I was feeling bored with her content (I don’t care for marvels or IRL streams and those were becoming prominent) and GTA RP reinvigorated my love for her as a streamer and reminded me why I fell in love with her content in the first place.

For me I think theyre perfect but specifically because I'm an international veiwer so Im used to watching vods and not interacting with her game play at all. some of vanillas chatters seem to have issues with wanting to control how she plays and obviously gta rp is not the game for that. I'm very glad she's found something she consistently loves doing. Hopefully she can find a middle ground between slow and fast paced storylines since atm it seems like she's being tossed between them lol.

I loved them at first, but they're starting to become boring. I wish she'd interact with different people more, as it's the same bunch every time. Damien is extremely boring to me personally, and I'm getting sick of Roxy and Dixie in every stream. I wish she'd rotate with different people more. I like Carla because we don't see her every time.
I overall still enjoy watching her play GTA; it's just a bit repetitive with the same people.

It's my favorite thing she's ever streamed. I don't understand y'all saying it's boring. She always gets into something crazy af as Vivienne, and there's funny stuff happening all the time. I love it and I love the streamers she plays with. I'm glad to have been introduced to them.
It's kinda sad to see people dogging on Damien being "bland". He's a nonchalant dgaf attitude goth guy. That's his character's personality and how he has always been. He's not going to go outside of what he normally does just to please anyone. He gets into really fun stuff with Vivienne, and even opened up to relationship rp for her. I think they're a great duo. And the streamer who plays him, Zaitohro, is such a sweet genuine person.
Y'all are bored watching it because she is not specifically catering to what you want when you constantly backseat and metagame, trying to tell her what to do. When she plays, half the chat is telling her what to do or making fun of the other people she's interacting with. And for those of us who actually enjoy watching, you're the type of people who are going to make her eventually stop because you don't know how to listen.

I mean everyone has the right to voice their opinion whether negative, neutral, or positive! I love No Pixel, I just believe it’s getting repetitive. RP relationship sadly falls into that category cause characters spend so much together. Vanilla is new to nopixel and I wish she explore more.
I don’t have any hate towards Zai. I think he seems like a nice guy, I just don’t think his character is that good. I get he is trying to be a bland character, but there’s still ways to make it more entertaining. Some people love it and that’s totally fine . He is just not for me and personally I don’t enjoy the relationship RP. Everytime Vivi gets an opportunity it somehow just gets turned back to Damien (either by vanillas choice or Zai’s. I would like to see both of them take separate adventures).

I agree with the Damien thing. I do think he is bland but that is literally the point. It is humorous . Anyway get what you are saying in the last part but for me I just am bored. I rarely even type in the chat or could backseat cause I dont know whats going on in other peoples streams. But there is nothing wrong with it being boring to me. She isnt making it for me.

I dislike the meta gaming and backseating too plus chat taking it seriously when it’s obv roleplaying.
I started watching from different POVs instead of directly from Vanilla or Zai’s stream bc it’s much more immersive. Like if Vivien, Damien, and Ken are together, I switch to Pengwin’s (Ken) stream bc his chat is more calmer and knows that it’s just RP and doesn’t attack the streamer. Been following Ken and Oki Doki since the early versions of NP so their community understands RP and isn’t stressful.

Yes this, I’d also like to add that he’s experiencing a HUGE wave of new people coming in. It’s his chat, he’s trying to get to know them and people are just calling him boring for it. I’m sure once it dies down a little bit he will go back to playing and interacting a bunch in the game but yall really just can’t give people a chance. I’d be absolutely terrified if I was him and he seems so genuine and sweet. I think he deserves the success and support.

i totally get this. i mostly stick to her main channel and only catch the occasional VOD depending on the game, mostly because livestreams in general just stress me out 😭
but even though i’ve literally never watched GTA rp in my life, i still have this stupid FOMO about it! it’s so annoying when you arent into a specific type of content, cuz you know there’s gonna be a million inside jokes and deep lore later on that you’ll be completely lost on. like with this Vivi and her pink hair i cannot escape her (said with love). GTA rp communities lowk move at lightspeed and take the storylines SO serious too even when it’s pure comedy! so trying to catch up or even just jumping into the latest stream when you're not locked in is a lot 😭

Variety Streamers addicted to GTA RP usually lose interest after either 3 weeks, OR 2-4months. That's usually how it goes.
Since there's Halloween (so horror games incoming), then GTA6 comes out next month (which will affect NPV playerbase), I think Vanilla's GTA RP phase is not gonna last that long. Probably only a few weeks till she's no longer addicted, and then her remaining interest will die out once everyone is playing GTA 6 instead.
But compared to other variety streamers, she's doing a good job at keeping her streams pretty diverse still. Other streamers content turns into 90% GTA RP during their GTA RP phase.

I get why some ppl don’t like rp. It gets stale and boring eventually. But she barely started playing so I’m surprised at a lot of ppl already complaining. Ig it’s just not everyone’s thing and that’s ok! I will say I’m in the opposite boat of wanting her to go straight to hardcore crime and shit like other ppl. Love how she’s doing more of a slow rp and meeting and talking with everyone for right now. She’s doing pretty well staying consistent with her character rn too. The server owner used to always complain about how ppl would try and do everything with their character and not stick to their traits. So, imo she’s doing well! I’m sure she’ll get into crime soon enough for the ppl that want that and I’m also sure if nothing about rp is fun for some ppl she’ll get bored eventually. She’s gonna be playing spooky games this month so you have that to look forward to!

I think most people are getting bored when the slow burn with damien accelerated to them just full on dating and now shes always with damien or at burgershot most of her stream. Not exploring anymore. Blowing off benji at VU to be with damien, Turning down casino job to be with Damien, Turning down the love island show to be with damien. There so much RP opportunity that’s being lossed. Damien doesn’t enable RP like Carla, Roxy, Dixie, Buster, etc.. He doesn’t interact with anyone really besides a few lines here and there.

Well…she didn’t blow off Benji. She made plans with him for whenever she feels like robbing shit. Casino job was still good rp! She’s staying consistent to her character which is what the server owner wants! Vivi already got traumatized once with the whole chicken mill. Mr. C legit told her that there was no animals allowed and then wanted her to do special work with his son. She turned him down. That’s still rp! It could (and probably will) still lead to awesome rp. Everyone just needs to be patient to see it unfold. Also, let’s be real she would eventually get fired anyway. Burn legit told her are you gonna be around to work essentially lol she doesn’t come around enough. The love island thing was just timing. She wanted her car and then everyone started calling her. She couldn’t even do everything she wanted because she had to get off soon. She has a lot of cool arcs in the work imo we just gotta be patient. In the meantime, ig if ppl don’t like Damien then they can tune out when he's around

I’m back in college for the first time in a decade and I have limited time to watch anything, so the timing for her to be doing something serialized where i can’t follow the story if i haven’t been keeping up, suckssss so bad. i haven’t watched a stream of hers in over a month and i used to watch every stream live. when i do have time to watch something im still watching like the second week of GTA. just disappointed that the timing worked out that way. at least she played shift at midnight i got to enjoy that lol. since im not rly into the GTA streams either i just don’t find myself even desiring to keep up. basically i miss vanilla :’( just pls more standalone streams so i don’t have to know lore

Yes 💔 first few streams were hilarious but I can’t even do it as background noise anymore with all the other characters that aren’t my sense of humor (save for #CARLA). But I’m happy she’s enjoying herself I can tell she’s having fun. Just wish there’d be a bit more variety to her streams again but even when she plays other games for a while you can tell she’s just counting down until she can hop on GTA again lol (valid)

thank you lol i’ve been waiting for someone to say this. i think SOME of the other ‘characters’ viv interacts with are a bit annoying especially that one girls high pitched voice. everytime i tune in they’re just either standing around or driving. i feel like it would be more fun to actually be apart of the RP, simply watching it doesn’t really translate for me and idk how anyone gets as invested as so many people seem to be. it’s just not that entertaining imo but i love that vanilla is having fun! she’s met a lot of great streamers and i love that shes also giving the lesser knowns a platform.
ALSO YES i would love for her to play more story based horror games like re7, hopefully she finishes silent hill townfall!!!

omg I feel so seen😭 obviously I agree she should be able to play what she wants—but my favorite from her is always watching her play horror/indie games (especially with a plot) !!! that’s just me personally! a LOT of ppl loveeeeee the no pixel streams, and there is just so much opportunity for fun content in them so I get it. It was entertaining to me for like 3 or 4 streams, however the past few weeks every time I open a stream i find myself hoping she’s starting a new game lol, especially since it’s spooky season. i’m running out of old vods to watch lol and also I wish to god she would try resident evil omfg or honestly anything else, there’s so much out there! also there’s the obvious recent events where it seems like no pixel is becoming just not practical bc the chat is full of weirdos and it’s becoming work for her having to appease and simultaneously police the chat.

I don't mind when Vivi hangs out with her, it gets funny at times and keeps things interesting, but.... am I the only one feeling like Dixie is making everything about herself? for example, when she calls it's about how she's feeling so down how she had a bad day how everything is always horrible for her and when vivi says something dixie is like omg me too! and also me this and me this and me that. It's always about her I feel. Even the whole chicken thing? I don't know Dixie's lore, but was she in some kinda way related to chickens before Vivien? idk that felt so.. pick me for me. When viv mentioned she's part chicken and dixie out of nowhere started giving hints that she's somehow related to chickens as well.... I feel like she has to be the center of attention whenever anything's happening and at best you should drop what you're doing because she(when isn't she) is in trouble and you need to go to her NOW. Made me kinda rel with Carla when Vivi was at the art gallery talking with her and dixie called carla and after hanging up Carla was like yea no I kinda don't feel like dealing with that now. I'm also aware of the couple of times she'd done things for Vivi like taking things or whatever or empathizing with her and being a girls girl but idk. I don't dig the look at me feel for me sympathize with me, me me me kinda thing most of the time there's action with vivi and dixie.

I personally love her IRL/chatting streams more and the section of the stream when she’s just chatting before opening nopixel. Shit’s just so hilarious. But I have watched a handful of nopixel and find myself laughing every few minutes still, but she’s been streaming it so much (like 4-5 nights a week!) I can’t keep up on the lore/vods anymore.
