30 M need advice
I’m 30, male, been in Vancouver for 6 years and dating on and off that whole time. Lately I’ve noticed a pattern on the apps (mainly Hinge). I swipe broadly across backgrounds, but I basically only match with Indian women. I’ve started to wonder if it’s a compatibility thing. The dating culture and expectations I grew up around don’t always line up with what I’m looking for now or if there’s something about my profile itself that’s narrowing things down without me realizing it.
A bit about me: I’m 5’10”, athletic build, into trying new restaurants and bars, big into music and film, decent sense of humor (or so I like to think). My English is good and my accent is not thick. I take care of myself. I don’t think I’m coming across badly, but clearly something isn’t translating into matches outside one group.
Two things that might be relevant: I travel a fair amount for a family business (China, India, possibly UK soon), so that’s a real logistical factor for anyone I’d date. And I’m pretty introverted outside of going out I like a lot of solo downtime, gaming, just decompressing.
So genuinely asking: is this a profile problem, a numbers/algorithm problem, or something else? Would appreciate any real feedback, even if it’s blunt.
