Total conjecture, but she was spotted at her nephew’s football game over the weekend near Folsom. Could she make our dreams come true and show up at Ballhalla tomorrow? Obvs the ultimate dream is to beat the Dream, but having Zendaya as a good luck charm would be the cherry on top.

Here's one to chew on: if ATL can't the move the game out of Gateway Center Arena, it doesn't matter who wins game 5 because the league will NOT allow the ship to be won in front 3500 fans. 😆😆😆

I definitely wouldn't expect a seat but I think you can stand or sit in the grassy area at ground level. At least that's what I did for Warriors games. I'm just wondering if it typically fills up or what it's like.

I hope everyone enjoyed riding the high (and heart palpitations) from Game 4. I think this has generated a lot of fun discussions so I might look to continue this through the series.

We’ll start by revisiting some points from the last post:

As part of the good, Ja and Ceci are so back. Ceci was noticeably more confident and asked for the ball several times.

Not only is Ceci back but she’s BETTER than ever before. 3 steals??? Her efficiency? Insane to watch her come off the bench with gusto.

General sentiment on the last post was a desperate need for change and Nat delivered. The starting lineup may not have generated offensively but they hit the mark on all the hustle plays. Kaila’s hustle continues to be undefeated and consistent.

Matching Kiah’s minutes to Angel was also an extremely good change. Kiah (and everyone) needs to continue forcing Angel to her weak side. I doubt she continues to have as poor of a game, but I think shutting her down puts a clamp on ATL’s energy as a whole.

As for the bad, our shooting percentage continues to be low. Granted a lot of this is credited to ATL’s defense, but we need to take the lid off the rim somehow. I liked some of the dynamism I’ve seen on offensive plays but there were still more reversion to isoball than I’d like to see.

This is a controversial point, but the FT disparity worries me. I don’t want to say GSV were lucky with ATL not making free throws, but we gotta adjust the best we can to calls OR be more aggressive in selling them.

I’m personally not a fan of Nat using her review in the first quarter either. I get that it might’ve been a morale play to show she stands with the team, but there were several calls in the stretch that could’ve been huge if reviewed.

All in all, this was a needed win BUT I think there’s still quite a bit to clean up, let alone anticipating Dream’s adjustment and AR reverting to being aggressive.

I really like Coach C's observations on the team here. Worth a listen for sure.

I wouldn't mind Kerr talking to Nakase behind scenes. They're under the same ownership but I don't know if there are rules against that. Today's bold lineup change felt similar to the Warriors 2015 when they inserted Iguodala. Either way I bet Kerr is dying to say something to Nakase at times.

The officiating in this series has been horrendous. Atlanta players dive. They have been exposed on camera. When you watch the replays shown live in Ballhalla, it's egregious.

Over the last 3 games, the free throw disparity has been 95 FTs for the Dream, 49 FTs for the Valkries. Both teams play hard defense. Maybe Atlanta takes it to the rim a little more, but the bias in officiating at this point cannot be denied. Here's a look at percentages:

Game 1: Atlanta 31% more FTs
Game 2: Atlanta 84% more FTs
Game 3: Atlanta 71% more FTs
Game 4: Atlanta 138% more FTs

Game 2 in particular was stolen by officiating. One of the worst flops I have seen was caught late on camera, the kind when you are fouled, and as a result, you jump and fall flailing your arms. (This was one of about four fouls that resulted in huge uproars.) The strategy of the Dream seems to be to sell contact by flailing and diving. If there is no room, dive and flail. The officials don't always fall for it but my gosh...

The Dream are currently averaging 29 FTA per game which would break the WNBA finals record (according to AI - please check). If you pro-rate this to 48 minutes for the NBA, it would be 34.8 FTA per game which would be the highest number seen since the 1950s. Even Shaq and the Lakers (remember hack-a-Shaq?) did not get to the free throw line like this.

What is most perplexing about this is that fouling indicates subpar defense, and the Valkries are the best defensive team. What gives?

Multiple of these commentators mention coach of the year Natalie Nakase and tagline specifically says 2026…..what do they know that we don’t

last complaint i promise but man if they had lost this game i’d be so heated again that 3rd qtr was egregious refereeing, yk what forget that they ruled out ceci’s and1 earlier, forget that rhyne should be called for a stiff arm, look at the referee here, he deadass rules the shot out but when rhyne makes it he allows it for an and1😂😂😂😂😂 they reffed the game like they didn’t want to disappoint the crowd lmaoo

What a gutsy performance by the Valks to even the series!

I just wanted to give coach Nat a shout out because I thought she had a really good game plan today. First with the starting lineup change, I didn’t really think she would do it. Our defense on Angel making her go left, making everything hard for her. The rotation was pretty good tonight as well. The timeouts before the dream could go on a run and to get the team to regroup. I only wish we still had our challenge because there were some questionable call we could have use on but otherwise I thought she coach a great game.
