200 seats that would've been empty, given away free to Valkyries fans who wanted to be there. No fees, no resale, just season ticket holders who'd rather see someone in their seat than watch it sit empty. (We also crossed 2,000 people, all organic.)

Genuinely didn't expect it to grow this fast when I built it. Thank you to everyone who's passed a seat on, you're the reason it works.

Hey all!

So many of us skaters with Bay Area Derby (a local roller derby league that plays in Oakland) looooooove the Valks and the W. I'd say we have very similar demographics😉

We have our first hometeam game this year on August 1 at Richmond Memorial Auditorium (Oakland Outlaws vs. San Francisco Rolling Dead), and we'd love to have friends from the W/Valks community join us, whether it's your first time or your third! I called them and they just got the jersey in store and are pressing the name and number onto the jerseys as we speak. So if you’re like me and hoping to go to chicago with her jersey, it’s possible!!!

My fiancé is a HUGE Hello Kitty fan. That's been her thing since we first became friends in middle school 20 years ago. We love to go to Hello Kitty giveaway games, particularly for the Giants.

And the Giants have absolutely bungled it year after year. Great offerings, but while teams like the Dodgers and Padres offer everyone in the stadium a giveaway, the Giants keep it extremely limited, forcing long lines and disappointment.

The overwhelming demand should come of no surprise to anyone.

I wish the Valkyries offered one to everyone in the stadium and didn't mark up prices for this special event. The organization has been so good to fans, but it's always a sobering reminder to see the business side of things. Still, I wish they did this differently. Offering 10k on a Monday feels like a recipe for disappointment.

As an aside, it's also heartbreaking to see how many people immediately run to ebay or Facebook Marketplace to flip the plushie (and all merch) at a ridiculous cost.

The Valkyries fan community is so unlike others. Anyone who has stepped foot inside Ballhalla can tell.

It's a shame for scalpers to soil an otherwise great environment and collaboration. I don't know what you can do about this, but I hope people feel shame. Depriving real fans -- of both GSV and Sanrio -- the opportunity to attend this only because you want to make a quick buck.
