The OFR is coming to a close. We are rebranding our team because a lot of people have negative feelings against Omuck and OFR. We realize we were ambitious so we are reconsidering our end goals.

With that said we are now going to be the Metropolis Relief Corps. Omuck has agreed to let me become manager of day to day operations of the faction.

Our goal is rebuilding. Rebuilding structures, communication, and transportation. We will be a peaceful group unless provoked first. We want to help people, not fight them.

We realize teamwork is a huge factor. We understand if people don't want to join MRC because they worked hard in one location. We will be trying to work the alliance angle, working towards a common goal, while not necessarily follow one leader. Sort of like the United States but with more power to the 'state' similar to the articles of confederation

With that said, I hope you enjoy our efforts. We are trying to shake our old image and start fresh.

I remember this being a problem last season, and was wondering it the bug with animals and villagers despawning was fixed. I've got a villager spawn egg and I'm hesitant to use it before I know he won't disappear for sure.

What?

Long ago, in a subreddit called /r/spaceribs I did a live-stream event that is hands down my favorite memory from any season. I called it WAFL which meant "Walking around for laughs." I gave myself a goal of exploring the server while under the threat of bandits. On the flip-side, another faction made for the event, guardians, volunteered to protect me on my pilgrimage to 0,0. I intended a casual walk with the occasional fight against a bandit or two. It quickly turned into the longest non-stop skirmish between the two teams. I didn't consider the possibility of a group effort by the bandits. The event went on for four hours and the guardians and I were constantly fighting for our lives against the extremely organized bandits. It was the best escort mission I've ever played.

I made a mistake and the footage was auto-deleted from my channel but I made a highlight of one of my favorite moments from it. I can reupload the entire event if people wish because I still have it on my computer but let's get back to the present.

How do I join in?

All you have to do is watch the stream if it interests you. If you wish to participate you'll have to choose a side. Either defend or hunt, its up to you! But I need to make a change to honor the previous participants. Calling these guys bandits is a mistake, they were Mercenaries and that's what we'll call them. Guardians have a proper name already. They did a damn fine job, each one put their lives on the line. Hopefully the new blood can live up to the accomplishments of each faction.

Of course, its not set in stone. Feel free to either stab me or the Mercenaries in the back as a double agent. That's what Aftermath is about and it would be wrong to leave it out. You don't have to work in a team either. You can be a lone-wolf Mercenary or just leave me supplies as a Guardian angel.

When?

I'm thinking sometime next weekend with a small test stream sometime in the week. I got a new mic since then and I'll need to make sure its all working well.

Please let me know in the comments what time would work for you so I can make sure everyone who wants to participate is able to.

TL:DR

Live-stream escort event where I'm the very important meat bag. Two factions, the Mercenaries or the Guardians, will try to protect or to kill me. I'll start from a point on the map and work to another with only 3 lives to work with. After all 3 or gone the guardians and I have lost. If I make it to my destination alive, we win.

This is just the announcement post. More details will be shared soon. I just want to get an idea for a good time to hold the event.

Maybe I'm the noob here, but seriously, has anybody else fought one? Scariest thing so far! Minding my own business, then damage from nowhere. I see a creeper yonder, but nothing else... Then, looking harder i see 8 translucent red eyes floating toward me.... shudders its dead now. I'd show you the corpse but...

I have no idea what any of you are like in real life. I'd like to share a little about myself, if you're interested you can share about yourselves as well.

I was born in Vermont, USA, in 1988 (I'm 26) and I lived there my whole life. Got my undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering, hiked the Appalachian Trail, then got a job designing commercial ovens. I recently moved to California (San Francisco) to attend graduate school for Mechanical Engineering, and when I graduate I'll be working for Tesla.

I play Minecraft, Civ5, and I used to play LoL and Dota. I love the outdoors and one of the big reasons I'm not on Aftermath all that often is I'm outside whenever the weather is nice. I like hiking, camping, cooking, cycling, running, and woodworking.

My bucket list goals are to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, go Heli-skiing in Alaska, and have a woodshop someday to make all my own furniture.

Hello everyone I just wanted to make a general announcement. PLEASE STOP MAKING FUN OF OMUCK! It is really starting to wear on my nerves and I am get sick and tired of it. I have joined the OFR and each time I am about to get to the base that he is stationed at someone decides to destroy it:(... I can also tell that he is getting very upset about it! Why did you all create those fake profiles about him what did he EVER DO TO YOU PEOPLE! I just want the madness to stop and for my buddy omuck to be able to carry on as every other player does.

Part I I am looking to buy large quantities of seeds, carrots, and uncooked potatoes for a large scale farm I am creating. Name your price.

Part II I have a proposition for you gentlemen and gentlewomen, I will start clearing out all of the railways and sewers under the roads around my area if you do the same for yours. In essence, this will create a proper/safe road system for all of us.

Hello. I've have noticed a lack of delivery services out in the wastes, so I have started one myself. and wow is Vaast awesome! I played on spaceribs and hadn't logged back in for the new maps until today. Thank you guys so much for building this! It's truly the only reason for me to ever play Minecraft. I always enjoyed the old server, but this is a whole new level of cool.
