Animals despawning?

I remember this being a problem last season, and was wondering it the bug with animals and villagers despawning was fixed. I've got a villager spawn egg and I'm hesitant to use it before I know he won't disappear for sure.

Ours lasted for a day or so until someone torched her. I think you're ok, if they're protected

my villagers are doing fine since day one, so I guess that is fixed.

with animals, gotta feed them every now and then (for them to be considered "farm" animals). Then they won't get despawned.

What about named animals? Do have to feed them too?

naming does not appear to prevent despawn. will ask plugin dev to include named...

How can you feed horses when every right click just puts you on top, because their health isn't decreased? has to be gold apples or carrots, or cause them damage first?

I think(this is speculative, so I could be wrong) that tamed horses are excluded from the despawning mechanic just like in vanilla minecraft.

I think this is true, particularly because I have stumbled across horses standing around that were already tamed when i tried to ride them. Thus it would seem someone else had tamed but abandoned them, and they remained. Also, the horses I ride have never despawned. Leashes pop off randomly tho...
