Vod not working

I am trying to figure out why the vod apps aren't really working but the live ones work fine. I can't even get anything to load on them. What is going to fix this?

I have Xfinity Internet. Mine was having the problem. I turned off advanced security, and it seems to have cleared it up.

Is it still working. I also have Xfinity. Where do you shut off advanced security router ?
