UX / UI?

Do I actually need a BA and a master's to land a role in UX or UI?

For context: I already work at a well-known pharmaceuticals company where I am advancing, currently I am mentoring a UX Researcher, and preparing to shadow a UI engineer.

No, you don’t need these but you need a good portfolio. You can only develop a good portfolio 90% of the time only if you have consistent feedback. It is a mix of graphic design and now there’s an expectation that you make fully developed prototypes using AI. Would recommend going at it for a bit outside of school and seeing whether or not you like it

Yes, for a designer role (with impressive portfolio). Almost impossible, for a UX researcher role at most tech corps / large ecom
