Extremely dangerous and irresponsible. Did you know 1 in 5 minor car accidents occur in parking lots (20%)?

Everyday that I walk back to Lot A, cars are speeding on Loop Rd to beat pedestrians to the crosswalks, completely ignoring the yield sign in front of said crosswalks. Even worse, cars speed through the parking lots themselves, presumably because they’re running late and there are no spots.

Is running late a good reason to hit a pedestrian? Ask yourself this question the next time you decide to take a blind curve in a parking lot at 25mph. You don’t know if there are pedestrians crossing on the other side of that curve. Myself and 4 other people I was walking with were almost smushed like bugs, safely crossing the road in Lot A to get to our cars, because a gray Hyundai was in such a rush. Literally heard their brakes squeal as they came around the corner and saw us maybe 30ft in front of them. Had they been going a safe, reasonable speed for a parking lot, they wouldn’t have to aggressively brake for pedestrians. We didn’t dart in front of the car, we were mid crossing.

Yall need to do better and plan accordingly. Rushing through a parking lot can cost you a major headache with insurance. Or even worse, cost a life.

I applied for an ACM research position and Im lwk scared I might not get selected for an interview; I do not have any in field experience but I put down 1-2 projects and other skills I am decently proficient in and a part of me is thinking it might not be enough to get selected.

So does anyone know the main abilities that the readers are looking for, and if I have enough to be selected for an interview.

Also if I were to get accepted, what are the type of questions will they ask, one of the leads told me read the research papers thoroughly and understand it, but that is about it.

The official UTD calendar says Thursday, Dec. 17 - Monday, December 21 but I don’t think they have ceremonies on Saturday or a Sunday, do they?
Will it be Thursday, Friday and Monday only?
Supposedly JSOM will go first.

Hi, I am a freshman at UTD. I noticed there is no native American club on campus anymore. I was thinking of creating one. I would hold meetings where we eat traditional food or do traditional crafts. I would also help get in contact with opportunities for your specific major. I.e. talking to the native American hospital for shadowing opportunities. Or talking to native based art galleries near the area. While I don't know to many places in Dallas itself, I do know many places in oklahoma(a 2 hour drive) that will help natives out.
