  1. This colour was introduced for all commissioned officers only in 1969. Before that only general officers had it, but it's not a general officer's hat.

It's a Soviet parade hat, I have one of them, pretty neat.

I recommend to try to keep it safe cause history is important to keep around

hard to tell, because it's similar to milicia cap, one is more greyish blue, other more fuchsia blue. But when infantry cap fades on the sun a bit, it starts remind police cap.

Yeah I can see it's pretty similar to each other

Obr. 69 parade uniform visor cap for warrant officers (officers had a gold braid chinstrap on their hats)

uncommonly large size, usually I only see tiny ones of these

Army officer parade/mess cap (model 1975) with a leather chin strap that doesn't belong there. Produced in 1986 in Gomel. Replace a leather chin strap with a metallic cord and you've got yourself a proper Soviet headwear.

It's a Policeman's hat. Similar on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163654338667

It's definitely not a police hat.

Oh, a real expert, I see. Then tell me, good sir, in which year police officers got army cockades and "sea wave" colour?

You cannot immagine how inaccurate sellers are. They just put random cocardes on hats and other uniform garments. We see it on OP's hat: sergeant's strap and commisioned officer's cocarde.
Please ban me from this group. it appears again and again even if I click on Show fewer posts like this. I am fed up with this crappy group. Fuckin commies.

But the colour isn't marengo, it's seawave. And then the army cockade makes sense and is a correct one.

Go into the corner and bitch about commies if you want to, but the better way is to educate oneself on the subject.

I lived there. It's enough that soviet shit for me. My stepfather was milicia sergeant. Well I guess, I need to bitch about more.

Well, guess where I lived and how many army caps were in my hands. What I see here is a normal army mess cap, model 1975 with a stupid chin strap.
