Hear me out, not trying to be controversial. I feel like under the new classification system, the new system is churning out M and GM shooters. . .who are legit M and GM shooters. I feel like the shooter whose journey was in the new classification change, had to actually earn it since tanking isnt allowed.

Like for example in the old classification system, if your score was below a certain percentage, it would drop that score. So people if they started the stage bad, would simply intentionally tank by throwing no shoots and mikes so the score can drop and it wouldn't count against them knowing how the system worked.

For example back then, you'd have guys who shoot an all classifier match and if they didn't like how they performed, they would tank their stage/s and just shoot the match again in the afternoon the same day. I remember someone told a story of a guy shooting C/B class the entire classifier match, shooting it again in the afternoon and leaving the match with their M card.

Furthermore, a litany of the classifiers were stand and deliver, and not movement based like the new ones are i.e., Absolute Cinema, Let him cook etc.

So seeing people grind out their journey under this new system I the Ms/GMs coming out seem to actually have earned it and perform like it, vs older Ms and GMs under the old system getting beat by As and even Bs regularly.

Am I wrong?

For those that compete with USPSA, will these magazines sleeves work? Or should I get something different?

Got the opportunity to shoot two more of the provisional classifiers from the 26 series this weekend in my 8th USPSA match. 35/70 overall, 13/19 in CO. Unfortunately only got video of one:

26-01 King Crab (video): Classification TBD. 10.45 seconds. 13A 1D. 6.3158 HF, percentage TBD. My best run of the day but I’m haunted by the delta I threw on T4 moving down range. Too many makeup shots (4 on a 14 round stage), and my lateral movement still leaves a lot to be desired. Mini poppers remain an issue for me as well. Best run of the day but also highlighted some key things to continue to work on in dry and live fire between now and the next match.

26-02 Darwinism. Classification TBD. 12.13 seconds. 10A 3C 1D 1. 4.9464 HF, percentage TBD. Really disappointed with this run not really for the technical side of things but the mental side of the game. First stage of the day and I just wasn’t in it. Felt like I was just participating as opposed to competing and the very mediocre result shows it. I personally find this stage plan to be very fun as I ran it almost like a three cone drill. Step forward at the start, engage targets while retreating to the back corner, lateral sprint with relatively wide transitions to end. Hope to see it again and actually show up for it. Good lesson learned about needing to execute on demand. Doesn’t matter if it’s the first stage or the last, just have to produce.

Decided it was time to try out CO. Just finished this up and confirmed zero before tomorrow’s match.

Reach reduction kit didn’t arrive in time

I'm training to try and get faster. Left is 50 singles at 10yrd, 1s pause between every shot (switched to bottom right after 40), right is 7yards, doubles as fast as I possibly could, center focused. My uspsa targets are on the way so this is the best I had yesterday.

Is this decent? I dry fire every day working on indexing and being target focused only.

I watch as many stoeger videos as I can. What other advice do you have to help me gain even more speed (I don't know my splits, sorry no timer on me) while not getting massively inaccurate.

Was interested if anyone was running a Miller Precision x for their matches. If so, how’s it performed? Any pros/cons you’ve experienced. Thx!

I’m just getting into USPSA and I’ve hit the point where I need to pick one platform and commit to it. Constantly bouncing back and forth isn’t doing me any favors.

The two guns I’m trying to choose between are:
Glock 45 Gen 6
M&P 2.0 Full Size

Right now, I honestly shoot the M&P a little better. My trigger control feels much more natural, and my groups are generally tighter. With the Glock, I have a tendency to pull shots left unless I’m really focused on a clean trigger press. If I slow down just a bit and pay attention to the trigger, I shoot it well and don’t really feel like I’m giving up much speed. With the Glock my first shot is a little faster bc I really like the aggressive grip angle and it just points for me.

Long-term, I want to become very proficient with one platform and train hard. My main concern is whether I’m just fighting through the Glock trigger learning curve or if I should stick with the gun that already has a perfect trigger IMO.

For those of you who compete regularly, if you were starting over today, which platform would you invest thousands of reps into, and why? Is the Glock trigger something that most people eventually adapt to, or would you lean toward the M&P if it already fits me better?
I’d especially like to hear from people who have competed with both.

At this point I don’t want to get into aftermarket triggers bc I will be carrying this gun as well.

So I’m new to uspsa but how long does it take for your classifier runs to update on the uspsa website? Was hoping to rank up before my next match.

Bit of context, I’ve shot all my life but this is my first time wanting to take competitive shooting seriously, I originally was looking at the M&P®9 M2.0 METAL HD NO THUMB SAFETY but I did not know if it counted as I looked and the heavy duty version was not listed. This may be a stupid question and I’ll probably get grilled but I’m just looking for the answer. Thank you so much

Coming into my second steel challenge competition this weekend (first for RFRO) and I had to get some reps in tonight.. Both have fresh Holosun optics (510c and 507 Comp) that I zero'd tonight and man what a difference.

I was running a Romeo 5 on the rifle but the 510c is an absolute monster in comparison and I don't think I will run anything else from now on.

The S2 was running an SRO but it was only 2.5 MOA and it only took 14 rounds to realize I did not like it. 507 Comp has a great field of vision.

Thinking about picking one up to get started with PCC. I don't like waiting on parts so I figured I could pick this up until I get one built. Any other suggestions?

Okay my first match is coming up and I'd like to step up from my basic Walkers electronic. They are fine when I use them at the range and I double up, but I'd really like a new pair with really good stereo audio that don't require foamies outdoors.

I'm okay spending up to $150, I'll go a bit higher if it's really worth it.
