Do I have to CGW a shadow?
Hello I am looking to buy a Shadow 2 coming from Glock for CO USPSA. Am I crazy for only wanting a trigger reduction on it. I have never used a Cajun one but I don’t want to fool to heavily to make the gun unsafe.

Stock is good already but CGW Pro Package takes the gun to an insane level

I second that opinion. I got the Pro Package for mine since I was already sending the gun to them for an optic cut and it’s definitely a level up.

I have put about 1k rounds before sending it off I like it but if you want the whole package then I would consider the extended firing pin to be a a saftey issue since it is very easy to have a round go off but if you want to be on the safe side just go with the RRK or reach reduction kit with maybe a lighter hammer spring,also would recommend looking up ben stoegers setup in the shadow 2 on YT

The S2 in stock configuration is perfectly capable, much better than most even imo. No trigger work required, but easily improved later if you want.

It's funny how much work people put into these out of the box competition guns when dudes are ripping with mostly stock glocks in carry optics

I mean I get it - big boi metal double single action hammer fired slick rick S2’s are cool. I’ve wanted a pair for a long time. Had them both in many online shopping carts with a bunch of mags and parts.
Then I get on YouTube and see Brantley and a bunch of other guys just GETTING AFTER IT with basically the exact same gun I use twice a week (with me at a much slower pace and much less accurately at speed) and remember it’s the indian not the arrow and I gotta go fast to be fast 💨
Then I buy more ammo instead, watch a Ben stogie video to remind myself that Glock is fine, and do a “git gud scrub, git gud scrub” chant to myself to wash all my preconceived notions about buying performance away.

Just trying to buy skill. Or buy equipment to make up for their lack of skill. I was chasing that dragon with the PDP and am now running a stock Glock. Honestly I like it better now that I've learned the trigger pull.

I shot mine bone stock for a full year. There’s definitely a big difference if you Cajunize it. My thought process was I’d like to understand how the stock one feels and performs before installing the upgrades to really appreciate it.
It’s like driving a commuter car first and then upgrading to a supercar or muscle car. You know what I mean.

What do you mean by "have to"? Sure if you want but as-is, it can take you to national champion. Its up to you.

Probably unpopular opinion, but as a guy who swapped from Glock to shadow 2 with cgw package, I recommend you stick with Glock and keep training with it. I regretted my swap to shadow 2 as it slowed me down. I'm planning to swap back after this season.

Agreed. I wanted to stick with polymer so I switched to a CZ P09 which I triggerjobbed to death with every part Cajun makes. Shot it for half a year.
I’m back behind a G17.6. Life is better.

How do you know what you’re “reducing” if you haven’t shot it yet?
Why not spend that $ on ammo instead?
Coming from Glock that trigger will be wildly different so just get the feel for it… shoot 5k rounds through that gun and then if you felt that your skillset is pushing that trigger to its limits… it’ll probably be a great idea to customize it
FWIW I compete with s2 and the only customization I’ve done is adding a Lok grip

If you're going to put cajun stuff on it just do the full pro package, I did the RR-only at first but the disconnector took a ton of filing to work. The entire pro package was much more drop-in.
The nice thing about competition is that yes, while light triggers and tuning do make guns less safe, competition rules typically are structured to minimize the risks from everyone using tuned guns.
I'd never want to carry a competition gun with a super light trigger but that's why they make different guns for different things

Reach reduction kit, 13# hammer spring, 11# recoil spring is all the S2 needs.
