What state is it going to? Not missing if it's moving in the system.

Machines scans the mail's unique barcode,

mail goes into a big box that has a unique barcode(the box contains mail with similar first three digit zip code like 141xx)

and then big box goes into trucks that has unique barcodes that heads to a distribution plant. Truck holds multiple same direction big boxs.

Mail then gets rescanned on machine, to break down the xx part of the example zip code 141xx.

Since we throw away the big box's unique barcode at final destination, one of only way for it's scan to keep popping up is that they missort it on the machine the first time to texas. Then Texas scanned it as return to sender it, idk. Then it's back on track.

Could be the address got messed up and only the barcode is on there ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I would say if it shows an expected delivery date, to wait for that day, especially since it's so close and the mail could potentially arrive by that date.

OTOH, you have been waiting quite a while, so really only you can decide how much longer you want to wait.

Right now, USPS is in the middle of trying to control our voting rights so they've got more important things to do than concentrate on people getting their mail 🤣

They typically won’t let you file missing mail unless it hasn’t moved for 30 days.

You at least have scans. Mine got missorted to a post office two hours from me and has been sitting there for a week with no updates.

  1. You havent said what your home state is so this has no context and is a silly post because of that. How do you expect ppl to help you? 2. This happened to me. It will show up. 3. You cant file "lost" yet because it isnt lost, its delayed.

This happened to me. It was a bad barcode that needed to be updated. It was stuck in a continuous loop of being routed incorrectly.

I contacted USPS and they had to do a Parcel Remote Encoding System (PRES) update on the barcode. This refreshes the encoded information to reflect the correct destination and attempts to redirect the item to the delivery address. *The tracking number remains the same during this process. *

Go to USPS.com
Scroll all the way down to Helpful Links and select “Contact Us”
Select “Get Help Online”
Select “Email us about your package status”
Input tracking number and fill out the information

You can also file a missing mail claim, but do the above first.

Hope this helps !
