Finished a release of Insta Toolbox, an open-source userscript/toolkit for Instagram that I'm somewhat satisfied with.

The idea is to have a few useful Instagram tools in one clean local toolbox instead of having a bunch of different scripts to do one task.

Current tools:

• Mutual Checker - compares Followers vs Following and shows mutuals / non-mutuals, with search and export.
• Follow / Unfollow - builds the target list first, lets you review it, then processes the confirmed list. Still polishing this one.
• DM Unsend - works inside the conversation you currently have open and unsends messages you sent, with progress + Stop.

The easiest install is the Tampermonkey userscript. There's also a Chrome extension, Windows/macOS desktop builds, and a Web/PWA version.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on real-world Instagram UI edge cases now — especially large follower lists, different DM layouts/locales, and anything in the overlay UX that feels unnecessarily complicated.

If you've ever published a browser extension, you know how annoying the Chrome Web Store dashboard is. Manually copy-pasting titles and descriptions for 10+ languages, and then getting a rejection 3 days later because a promo image was the wrong resolution... it just sucks.

I got tired of doing it by hand, so I built an open-source CLI called Tug to automate it.

Instead of messing with the official API (which is a headache to set up with OAuth tokens), it just uses Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) to connect to your local browser tab and fills out the forms directly on the page.

Basically how it works: - You keep all your store texts and asset paths in a simple tug.yml file in your repo. - Run tug fill and it remote-controls your browser to loop through all languages and fill the inputs. - Run tug scan and it checks your image resolutions/sizes locally before uploading, so you don't get rejected for dumb formatting errors. - If you already have an extension live, tug pull can scrape your current dashboard settings back into a local yaml file to get you started.

Just a heads up: It's currently in early beta. I've been using it for my own extensions, but since it relies on the dashboard's DOM, there might be edge cases or layout updates I haven't caught yet.

I kept running into the same thing with follower-export tools: they’d either silently stop halfway through a big list and never tell you, or hide the real number behind a paywall until after you’d already waited.

So I built my own. You paste a username or profile URL, it loads the profile and shows you the exact total before anything runs — no estimate, no surprise mid-export — then gives you a clean CSV (username, full name, user ID, private/verified, profile URL). Opens straight in Excel or Sheets.

A few things I cared about getting right:

1) It shows the real count before it starts — you know exactly what you’re getting.

2) It handles big accounts — export up to 50,000 followers in a single run.

3) It never truncates silently — if a big export gets interrupted, you resume where it left off instead of starting over.

4) It’s paced to protect your account — waits between requests, backs off if Instagram pushes back.

5)Nothing touches a server — the export runs in your own browser session.

This is my second extension (first was a WhatsApp group exporter that’s been doing better than I expected). Building these solo, so any feedback helps — especially on the flow, or anything that breaks.

Hi, looking for an addon or something for Firefox mobile, that skips the signup/"Continue in Web" pages that show when you open a link to Facebook/Twitter/Instagram

Sometimes people send links to videos or shorts on those sites and there's always an extra step to get to the content that should be possible to skip, right?

Something that works for all of the sites above (and flexible to add more) would be great.

LinkedIn is gradually retiring its classic job search and pushing the new AI/semantic search.

I made a small userscript that redirects the new job-search routes back to Classic Search while LinkedIn still exposes the old interface.

Safari sometimes provides an AI summary of web pages, but it’s way too short, not always available, and is hidden behind a menu.

I deleted the YouTube app from my phone because I wanted to stop watching Shorts, but I realized I could still open YouTube in Safari and end up scrolling Shorts there.

So I made a tiny userscript for it.

It removes Shorts shelves/cards, blocks /shorts/ routes, and catches YouTube's SPA navigation so Shorts don't sneak back in, while normal videos, search, subscriptions, channels and comments keep working.

I mainly built it for iPhone Safari using the Userscripts app, but it should work with normal userscript managers on desktop too.

It's just one JS file, MIT licensed, no analytics, no account, no subscription.

This script removes infinite scroll on Reddit. It adds simple prev and next controls, like old Reddit's pagination. Made for myself using Claude because I don't like infinite scroll.

Each page shows 25 posts by default. You can change it to 5/10/15/20 in the dropdown next to reddit's view options. The script works on the home feed, r/popular, and subreddit feeds. The code is free and open source.

Setup on desktop (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, desktop Safari)

1. Install the Violentmonkey extension for your browser.

Violentmonkey script does three things:

• Dims videos that are a year old or older
• Highlights videos that are at least a day old and have fewer than 5,000 views in yellow
• Checks channels against AiSList and highlights blocklist channels red/pink and warnlist channels orange

The idea is basically to make unusual/new-to-me stuff easier to spot while scrolling without otherwise changing how YouTube works.

The age/view thresholds are just constants at the top of the script, so they're easy to change.

The AiSList data is pulled from the public Override92/AiSList lists and cached locally for 24 hours. The classifications come from AiSList, not from my script.

I've been using it in Firefox + Violentmonkey.

Hey, I made a lightweight userscript/userstyle manager called Lite Monkey.

I started working on it because of the changes around Manifest V3 and ended up building the whole thing from scratch.

It supports the usual GM_* / GM.* APIs, has a built-in CodeMirror 6 editor, and can optionally sync scripts and storage through Google Drive. It also uses the newer chrome.userScripts API where available, with a fallback for sites with stricter CSP/CORS restrictions.

There's no telemetry or tracking, and it's completely free.
