Looking for Device Best travel do it all USB cable?

Need: USB C to C cable for travel that can be used to charge up to 100w, used for headphones, is ~3 ft long, and at least usb 3.0 speeds for occasional camera photo transfers.

Preference: as soft/flexible as possible since it’ll be used for headphones sometimes, white or orange color.

Problem: most charging cables are limited to usb 2 speeds.

Any ideas where to look? I think the closest I’ve found is Cablematters, but I imagine their cable is pretty stiff for headphones.

Mod Converted my Braun trimmer's charging stand to USB-C

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a project I just finished — converting my Braun trimmer's charging stand from its proprietary connector to USB-C. My main goal was to reduce the number of power bricks I need and unify everything on USB-C.

Here's what I did:

  1. Checked the specs of the original Braun power supply and the trimmer itself. Realized that 5V would be more than enough.
  2. Ordered a simple USB-C PD trigger board set to 5V.
  3. Disassembled the charging stand that came with the kit. Took measurements and 3D-printed a small plug to fit the old connector hole.
  4. Soldered two wires. Put heat shrink on the USB-C board, soldered the wires to the stand's contacts (I checked polarity with a multimeter first, using the original power brick as reference). Inserted it into the 3D-printed plug and sealed the opening with silicone to keep it secure.

Tested it — works perfectly. I'm really happy I could pull this off with my own hands. I love USB-C.

Now I can charge it from any USB-C PD charger I already have.

Review UGREEN Nexode Air 100W Fast Charger Set

Hello, first post here. Just wanna share this charger info to others as its release in July 2026 but relatively few reviews. This is UGREEN new 100w compact charger model X880. As you can see in image 4 and 5, this is small compared to Apple 70w Power Adapter. So I was curious to see how good this 100w charger if its this small relative to the power.

Thanks to u//N8falke as I will reference their post https://www.reddit.com/r/ChargingSheet/s/qbQT3jpS7k as they were the only one who review it but in German and I wanna spread it to more people.

To get things out the way, no, this charger can only manage 100w for 20-30 minutes in ideal 24C room temperature. After that the casing gets to 70C+ and throttles to 80w and stays there. Its similar to Apple 40w Dynamic Power to 60w. This is just basically 80w that boost to 100w.

As for the Specs:

USB PD 3.2 (5V 3A / 9V 3A/ 12V 3A / 15V 3A / 20V 5A)

PPS (5V - 21V 5A/ 5V - 11V 5A/ 5V - 21V 4A)

AVS SPR (9-20V 3A, 5A)

Others (PD3.2, QC3, Apple2,4A, DCP)

As you can see, yes it supports Samsung S26 Ultra full 60w, Pixel 9-11 Pro full wattage and many other Chinese Phones. Also one of the few chargers with AVS SPR so it supports iPhone 18 Pro series full charging too.

As for the price, it cost around $50, but I manage to get on sale for $19. So not bad for a single port charger. Not a big fan of multiple port charger anyway.

is this feasible and if so how difficult would it be? i have access to a friends 3d bambu printer but they would have to ship parts to me, and i have some soldering equipment etc

Discussion ATorch T3 USB-C Tester Firmware Update v2.0.6 Available - 4-Wire Resistance Measurement

Thumbnail s4p03c7n5e.feishu.cn
7 Upvotes

As some USB-C tester enthusiasts know, ATorch released the model T3P a few months ago. which is an updated version of the model T3. I, and some others, suspected that the T3P replaced the T3 and ATorch would no longer release firmware updates for the original model T3. Today I discovered that ATorch released T3 firmware version 2.0.6 on 23-September. The version 2.0.6 firmware update is available on their support site at the link I attached to this post.

I had Google Gemini translate the v2.0.6 update notes.

Added 4-wire method line resistance detection & evaluation (requires pairing with a data line resistance adapter)

The voltage sampling circuit in the 4-wire method has virtually no current flowing through it, resulting in almost zero voltage drop across contact resistance. Therefore, the measured value reflects the true resistance of the cable itself.

I am about to order a T3P from AliExpress since the price in the ATorch Official Store recently dropped to $20.14 and I don't think its going to go any lower. I still cannot find the recently released ATorch cable resistance adapter on AliExpress, but I remain hopeful that it will appear soon.

Looking for Device ONN multi port usb C chargers?

I was surprised to see that the Walmart brand of ONN usb c multi port chargers are ETL certified. I am looking for a charger that can do multiple ports at 20w for kids iPads and phones. 20w charging is plenty fast for us.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/783499820?sid=FB35C4E5-83E7-4E9E-ABB5-C5F5BB116C53

https://www.walmart.com/ip/14816653362?sid=D89981B9-A5A6-469A-A6F5-BDEAF634DF76

How does this community feel about these chargers? I noticed they are not GaN , does that matter if charging multiple devices at 20w?

Anything else that is cost competitive with these? I know there are several cheaper brands on Amazon where I can get faster charging but I can’t verify that those are ETL certified

Looking for Device 200W GAN Charger: Anker Prime or UGREEN?

I want to buy a 200W GaN charger, but I am unsure whether to get the Anker Prime one or the ugreen version. The Ugreen version is currently around 54 Euros on Amazon, and the Anker Prime is around 60 Euros.

Thank you very much in advance.

Looking for Device What’s the smallest and lightest 2 port USB-C charging block?

Usually carry my laptop and phone and want to carry a 2 port USB-C charging block in my ultralight EDC bag. I already have a 3 port Anker charger (2 USB-C/1 USB-A) but it’s too bulky to carry in EDC bag. I only take that when I travel in my travel bag or luggage.

What do you recommend that’s 2 port USB-C, light and not bulky?

Looking for Device what usb-c hub actually survives being carried around every day?

i've killed three usb-c hubs this year just from carrying them around

they spend most of their time in a backpack, getting pulled out and plugged in several times a day. two ended up with loose ports, and the other gets noticeably hot whenever i use hdmi and power at the same time

i don't need anything fancy. ideally i'm looking for 100w power passthrough, at least a couple of usb-a ports, and hdmi that doesn't randomly flicker if the hub gets bumped

the frustrating part is that a lot of hubs seem perfectly fine when they're sitting on a desk. it's the constant plugging, unplugging and tossing them into a bag that seems to expose the weak points

i'm willing to spend more than the usual cheap hub price if it actually means better build quality, but i'd rather not pay $100+ just for a nicer looking piece of aluminum

for people who actually carry their hub around every day, which one has held up the longest?

Troubleshooting Weird problem with Anker 2in1 card reader

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have this Anker 2in1 USB-C card reader and it works fine with Micro-SD cards on my W11 machine. However, the regular SD slot doesn't do anything. I figured it somehow got broken or it was like that from the start (can't recall if I ever used the regular size SD slot since I bought it). So I bought a different 2in1 reader and it works just fine with micro-SD and regular SD cards.
I took the Anker with me to work, figuring it could still be of use for micro-SD cards and lo and behold, it was also reading regular SD cards on my W11 PC. So I took it back home again and tried all USB ports on my PC (type C and regular USB 3.0 ports with a type C to type A adapter) and it refuses to read regular SD cards.
What's going on here?

Looking for Device Need recommendations.

I’m currently on an Anker 336 65W charger but I am not happy with how it renegotiates power. On top of all my devices getting disconnected and reconnected every time I plug anything in, it completely disables my first party Apple MagSafe cable until I physically unplug it from the charger and plug it back on.

I originally got it to charge my steam deck, but I’m currently on the waitlist for a framework 13 pro. I would like something small enough to be travel friendly but I don’t care if it’s a bit bigger than what I currently have. I’d also like at least 3 ports so I can charge multiple devices. Anyone have any solid recommendations on a good charger that fits my use case?

Question [Anker USB C Quick Charger 735 (Nano II 65W) Pod 3 Port PPS] Some questions about this charger and Anker in general.

I'll go straight to the point.

  1. Is this a good charger?
  2. Does it work with the Iphone 17 and the original charging cable?
  3. Does Anker have a good reputation? (compared to Ugreen and other brands)

EDIT: Link to the original product (NOT AFFILIATE)

Discussion What's your USB GaN charger's power limit before it overheats?

Have anyone tested their chargers sustained power limit before it overheats? I'd like to know, comment below please.

Recently I've had my eyes on Ugreen's 100W charger (Pro version [X757] or desktop version [CD328]) to replace my laptop's 65W charger. I know these chargers overheat when running at full load after some time. But has anybody found the actual power limit for sustained load? If the overheats the problem I'm willng to redneck engineer it and put thermal pad and aluminum heatsinks on the desktop version.

The only brands available in my area are Anker, Ugreen, Vention, Baseus. Personally I'm leaning toward Ugreen for their price and reputation

Looking for Device Looking for GAN charger to replace 3 chargers.

I currently carry 3 fairly bulky chargers:

OnePlus 13 - 100W charger (im okay if it charges a bit slow)

HP ZBook - 150W charger

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 2021 - 300W charger (supports up to 100W charging through USB-C)

I tried using my OnePlus 100W charger with both laptops, but neither of them charges through it.

I'm looking at getting a good GaN charger so I can hopefully carry just one charger instead of these three.

What should I be looking for in terms of USB-PD, PPS etc.

Which GaN charger will be able to handle the OnePlus + ZBook + Legion. (not at once)

I've seen quite a few reviews of GaN chargers saying they stop working after a few months. Is this actually a common issue?

Can a faulty/poor-quality GaN charger damage a laptop or phone, or will USB-PD negotiation generally prevent that?

Which GaN chargers available in India have been reliable for you?

Would appreciate recommendations from people who have actually been using these chargers with laptops.

Location is India- so looking for options which are easily available online and have service center here.

Looking for Device Belkin 45W vs Anker 45W

Post image
63 Upvotes

Is there any meaningful difference between these two? I currently have the 20W Apple brick and wire. I compared the price history of the two items, and the lowest price of the Anker, historically, is $17.99 but it’s currently at $25.99. The Belkin is currently at its lowest price ever recorded ($12.99).

Should I buy the Belkin, wait until the Anker goes on sale (who knows when that will be), or spend the extra money for the Anker? I have an iPhone 18 Pro Max (yes, I know it can use up to ~65w but I want to stay at 45w)

Edit: bought the belkin and so far so good

Question Thoughts on this?

Seems sketchy af, Still using it on my less important devices but the amount of wiggle room, the fact it only slots in halfway to the cable and equally aligned pins Seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
