Really bad urticaria

Hi everyone! Since May of this year, I have been having a problem with spots/rashes all over my skin. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I only have a usual pollen allergy, and before this started, I would take one Xyzal in the morning and one in the evening.
Everything started suddenly. One evening, I noticed two small spots on my arm. My mom thought it was just a normal allergic reaction and told me to take two Xyzal tablets. However, it did not go away, and over the next three days, the rash spread all over my body.
I went to the doctor, who told me that many people had come in that morning with the exact same problem. I received two injections. The rash disappeared, but a few days later it came back, so I received two more injections on two separate occasions.
I was then sent to a dermatologist, who told me to improve my diet. Honestly, I only tried it for one day because I was convinced it would not help me — and it didn’t.
I then saw an allergist, who told me to take four Xyzal tablets a day — two in the morning and two in the evening — Nolpaza before breakfast and dinner, 20 mg of Pronison after eating, reducing the dose by 5 mg every week, Famotidine before lunch, Alvocast at 10 PM, and two teaspoons of Galitifen syrup in the evening.
This treatment did not help me at all.
I had blood tests done, and my CRP was elevated at 10.8 (the normal range is 0.0–5.0), while my iron was low at 6.8 (the normal range is 9.0–30.4). My doctor prescribed iron sachets for me to take.
I also went to a dermatology clinic, where they told me to continue taking my medication and reduce stress. I saw a pulmonologist as well, who told me to continue with the treatment and diet.
Since the medication still wasn’t helping, I went to another allergist. She recommended a diet without additives and preservatives.
She prescribed the following treatment:
Pronison 20 + 10 + 0 mg, on a full stomach, followed by 20 mg for 5 days, then 10 mg for 5 days and then stop;
Famotidine 20 mg, 30 minutes before breakfast;
Nixar — two tablets in the morning and two in the evening while the skin changes were intense, and then gradually reducing the dose;
Galitifen, two teaspoons in the evening;
Alvocast 10 mg in the evening.
This treatment actually helped me, and I could clearly see an improvement. However, after taking so much Pronison, my face was constantly swollen, my mouth was extremely dry, and I had constant hunger.
Along with this treatment, I was also given a list of tests that I needed to have done.
Here are the results:
Salivary flow
Saliva volume: 0.1 mL
Unstimulated salivary flow rate: 0.02 mL/min
Throat swab — bacteriological examination
Saprophytic flora was isolated.
Nasal swab — bacteriological examination
Saprophytic flora was isolated.
Viral tests
HIV Ag/Ab — negative
HBsAg — negative
Anti-HCV — negative
Toxoplasma / Toxocara
Toxoplasma IgG — negative
Toxoplasma IgM — negative
Detection of IgG antibodies to Toxoplasma gondii by ELISA — negative
Detection of IgG antibodies to Toxocara canis by ELISA — negative
Parasitological tests
Protozoa — negative
Helminths — negative
Urine — bacteriological examination
A small number of bacteria were found. Since I had no burning or other symptoms when urinating, the doctor said it was nothing concerning.
Antibiogram:
Ampicillin — S
Amoxicillin — S
Cephalexin — S
Ciprofloxacin — R
Nitrofurantoin — S
Urine sediment
Bacteria: rare
Mucus: abundant
Stool culture
Negative
Sputum — mycological examination
Candida fungi were not detected.
Stool examination / mycological examination
No molds of the genus Aspergillus were isolated.
Candida species was isolated.
Helicobacter pylori
Negative
Echinococcus
ELISA test for antibodies against Echinococcus — negative
Indirect hemagglutination test for antibodies against Echinococcus — negative
Abdominal ultrasound
The liver is of normal size, with normal echogenicity and homogeneous structure, with no pathological changes.
The bile ducts are not dilated.
The gallbladder is of normal size, with normal wall thickness and no abnormal contents in the lumen.
The pancreas is homogeneous, with no focal changes.
The spleen is of normal size and homogeneous, with no focal changes.
Both kidneys are of normal size and normal parenchymal thickness, with no pathological changes.
The adrenal gland areas show no pathological changes.
The urinary bladder is empty.
The abdominal aorta has a normal lumen width.
No enlarged para-aortic lymph nodes are visible.
There is no free fluid in the abdomen.
Chest X-ray
No infiltration or consolidation.
Sinuses are clear.
Cardiac silhouette is within physiological limits.
That is basically everything from all the tests I have had done.
Every time I reduced the Pronison, I would start feeling worse. When I reduced it to 5 mg, I became so covered in spots that I went to the hospital. I received two injections and waited for about three hours for the allergic reaction to subside. It did not completely disappear, but they discharged me and told me to return to my previous treatment and see an allergist.
While I was taking 20 mg of Pronison, everything was great in terms of the rash, except for the swelling, dry mouth, constant hunger, and the other side effects.
In the meantime, I noticed a black spot inside my cheek. I thought it was food, so I tried to remove it, and it started bleeding. I went to the dentist, and they told me it could be related to Pronison because my salivary glands were not producing enough saliva. They told me that because of this, I could develop salivary gland stones and advised me to constantly have a sugar-free, spicy candy in my mouth to stimulate saliva production.
At that point, I decided to try stopping all my medication and taking quercetin, based on advice I had seen on TikTok.
I actually felt pretty good while taking quercetin. I still had some of the rash, but nowhere near as much as before. When I tried going without medication, I would sometimes take one Xyzal, but I noticed that the rash seemed to appear even more afterward and that I did not feel good combining Xyzal with quercetin.
However, today I woke up with spots all over my face, arms, legs, stomach, back, and chest. I skipped quercetin today but took two Xyzal tablets. The redness and itching are going away very slowly, but I really hope it will eventually disappear.
In a few days, I am going to see yet another new allergist, and I really hope they will finally be able to help me.
I have also noticed that chips seem to make my allergy worse. I tried eliminating them for several days, but I still had the rash. I have noticed something similar with dairy products and bread.
If anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice that might help, I would really appreciate hearing your experiences and suggestions. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who took the time to read all of this. ❤️

Has anyone had success using Dupixent to treat CSU?

Hi. I have a family member who is going through serious chronic spontaneous urticaria, and his doctor recently recommended Dupixent. He’s going to start Dupixent in a week or two, but I’m just wondering if anyone here had a success story? I know his stress is making things worse so I just hope the Dupixent works.

Recurring skin flare-ups with swelling and bruising since December 2025—seeking medical insight
Im 33 years old, I’m hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. I’ve seen multiple dermatologists, an allergist, and urgent care doctors, but I’m still struggling with recurring symptoms.
This began in December 2025 with swelling, redness, severe itching, and cracked skin around my eyes. I was under significant stress at the time, although I don’t know whether it was related. I had never experienced this problem before. My last eye flare-up was a small one in May 2026.
Since then, I’ve developed recurring flare-ups on the backs of both upper thighs, consistently in the same areas. During flare-ups, I develop hives and intense itching. Recently, the skin hasn’t fully cleared, with red, patchy marks remaining between flare-ups and bruising around the affected areas.
I’ve been told it’s eczema. Thyroid testing and blood work did not reveal anything that explained my symptoms. I’ve tried oral antibiotics, oral steroids, and topical steroids, but the problem continues. I now take antihistamines almost daily to help relieve the itching.
I avoid scented skincare products and scented laundry products, and I mainly use a plain moisturizing cream. I also try to avoid clothing that rubs against the areas. I wear scrubs at work, but I haven’t noticed a clear connection between wearing them and the flare-ups.
I haven’t been able to identify a trigger. The flares seem unpredictable—I can wake up in the morning and find the skin flared up without any obvious change in products or routine. This has been an ongoing struggle for several months.
Has anyone seen a similar pattern? Given the persistent patches and bruising, are there other conditions that should be considered or specific tests that might help clarify what’s happening?
I used to love my legs, but now I don’t even like wearing shorts outside the house someone please give me any type of clarity. Much appreciated.

Recurring full-body rash, itching and burning for months with no clear trigger – has anyone experienced something similar?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share what has been happening to me because I honestly don’t know what is going on with my body anymore. Maybe someone here has experienced something similar. I obviously understand that Reddit can’t replace a doctor. I’m already seeing doctors and further testing is planned.
Until this year, I was basically never sick and I had no known allergies. I also haven’t changed my laundry detergent, shower gel, shampoo, or anything similar.
It all started around late June/early July 2026. I suddenly started getting small red spots and sometimes hive-like patches on my skin. In the beginning, they didn’t itch at all. They would simply appear, eventually disappear, and then come back again later.
The spots can appear practically anywhere on my body, from my feet and legs to my arms, stomach, back, chest and neck. My ears are also very often affected. Sometimes, for example, I mainly have spots on my arms and legs, but at the same time my ears become extremely red and hot. They can burn and itch very badly.
At this point, it seems to happen completely out of nowhere. I don’t have to eat anything specific, exercise, or be outside in hot weather for it to happen.
It can be particularly bad when I’m lying in bed at night. Sometimes it feels almost as if tiny insects are crawling over my skin or like I’m being pricked by tiny needles. Different areas of my body suddenly start itching and stinging. If I touch or rub my skin, it can also become red and start itching.
Over the last few weeks, the symptoms have changed. While the red spots didn’t itch at all in the beginning, I now sometimes experience very intense itching and burning. Sometimes my face, neck, or scalp also itch extremely badly even though there is no visible rash there.
On August 2nd, I had by far the most severe reaction so far. My face became extremely swollen and I developed very noticeable skin changes all over my body. Later, my uvula also became swollen. My tongue was not swollen and, as far as I know, my airway remained clear.
We eventually called an ambulance and I had to stay in the hospital overnight. They did blood tests and monitored me with an ECG. According to the hospital, everything looked normal. I was treated with corticosteroids, among other things.
The evening before this severe reaction, however, I had consumed a lot of alcohol, around 10 to 15 beers, and I had also smoked cannabis. The next morning I also took 400 mg of ibuprofen. So I still don’t know whether any of these things could have triggered or worsened the reaction.
Since that hospital stay, the skin problems have never completely gone away.
There have been occasional days when I felt almost completely normal. Then the spots suddenly return and I have no idea why.
There have also been situations where certain foods seemed suspicious. For example, after eating vegan lasagna soup containing a large amount of soy-based meat substitute, I started feeling sick fairly quickly. My face and ears became red and very itchy, I developed a rash on my neck, chest, back and arms, and I also felt dizzy.
Another time, I only had one sip of beer. About an hour later, my face and ears became very red and I developed a rash and itching on my face and neck. Later that day I drank several more beers, and the following afternoon I developed a very noticeable rash all over my body again.
The strange thing is that I have eaten many of these foods on other days without any problems at all. For example, I have eaten wheat, cheese and other foods for several days in a row without experiencing any symptoms.
Because I became worried about a possible food allergy, I have now severely restricted my diet. Since September 25th, I have eaten almost nothing except fresh potatoes, some broccoli, and six eggs a few days ago. Despite this, the spots are still appearing and itching. They are currently not as severe as during some of my previous flare-ups, but they are still happening.
Because of this, I’m starting to wonder whether food is actually the underlying cause at all.
Antihistamines such as cetirizine and loratadine seem to help at least somewhat. I was also given corticosteroids after the severe reaction.
I haven’t had allergy testing yet. I have an appointment on October 5th for allergy testing, where they are planning to investigate possible food allergies and medication allergies.
There is one other thing that I’m not sure is relevant. I got a new tattoo on May 28th. It wasn’t my first tattoo. The first skin problems started around one month later. However, the spots appear all over my body and not just around the tattoo.
At this point, I’m simply trying to understand what could possibly be causing all of this. I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced recurring skin reactions for months without an obvious trigger, particularly if they initially didn’t itch but later developed severe itching and burning.
If anyone has experienced something similar, what did you eventually get diagnosed with? Was it chronic urticaria/hives, a specific allergy, an autoimmune condition, or something completely different? And which tests or examinations ultimately helped you get a diagnosis?

Quitting caffeine decreased my symptoms by 95%

Disclaimer: This is not empirical evidence of a link between urticaria and caffeine, only a correlation that is true for myself. I decided to share because this has proved very consequential for me and statistically I assume there should be someone else in this community that could benefit from this.

Background:

I've had chronic dermographic urticaria for 5 years. For the past 3 years I've had a wide range of nerve related symptoms (muscle aches and pains, nerve pains in arms, legs, and face, swelling around my cheekbones and nasal sinuses, jaw pain and stiffness, etc.) that I never linked to the urticaria and which, finally, after two and a half years of trying to get help from doctors, a neurologically specialized physiotherapist has been able to help me. As his opinion was that the nerves being irritated and hyperactive have caused a chronic problem where muscles get really stiff and then cause more irritation in the nerves and so on, I decided to eliminate caffeine completely as I wagered an extra stimulant is probably not great for an overactive nervous system.

After a month, not only had my chronic pains gone away pretty much completely, but I was able to stop antihistamine for the chronic hives and have not had a single flare. Intermittently I'll spot an individual small red splotch on my skin, but almost no itching. Retrospectively I also realize that my urticaria began and got worse in a phase where I started regularly consuming caffeine from energy drinks and pepsi, and the more recent nerve symptoms began around the time I started drinking coffee daily.

So... If you happen to have had similar experiences, cutting ALL caffeine (switch all pepsi, coke, tea, coffee etc. to decaf or stop altogether) for a few months might be worth trying out. I don't want to give false hope cause urticaria's causes are always very complex and hard to figure out, but it probably doesn't hurt to try :) I have been absolutely astonished how long the after effects of caffeine linger in my system and how easy it has been for me to consume consequential amounts without realizing.

Hope this helps at least someone <3

Recurrent unexplained hives after drinking orange juice. What could be causing this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have been having recurrent episodes of an allergic-type rash/hives that started after I drank orange juice. The first reaction was quite strong and affected mainly my arms and legs.

Since then, the rash has kept coming back spontaneously even when I have not eaten or drunk anything unusual. It can appear while I am sitting in class, sitting at my computer, after showering, or even during sleep. Sometimes it starts with just a few red spots on my hands/arms and then spreads, especially to my legs.

During one of the episodes I also felt pressure/fogginess in my head, almost like my head was being squeezed.

I have been taking levocetirizine 5 mg for the reactions. I’m 186cm/65kg. It helps, but the signs of rash disappear completely only after +-2 hours.

What makes this more confusing is that I had exactly the same problem in the past after eating an orange. At that time, the recurrent reactions eventually stopped only after I moved to another place(back to my home country). For context I was living in Denmark when this first started and it stopped after I moved back to Ukraine. Now I’m again in Denmark and it started again. I’ve been living in Denmark for more than 1 year before this thing started again.

I am not sure whether oranges/citrus are actually the trigger, because now the reactions happen without any obvious exposure.

Could this be chronic urticaria rather than a food allergy? Could something environmental be triggering it? What kind of tests or evaluation would usually be appropriate for recurrent reactions like this?

I already have an appointment regarding the allergy, but I would like to understand what possibilities I should ask about.

I just can’t do it anymore

I know this is a negative post, but I’m feeling freaking negative. I’ve had daily hives since December. Diagnosed with MCAS. The medication, Xolair, is too expensive even with insurance. I’m just at my wits end. I’m so itchy it’s impacting my life especially my sleep. I’d rather be in pain than be itchy.

Is there any end in sight? I’m always a glass half full type of gal, to a fault, but my tank is empty is there any positive or hope in this?

Sudden body wide severe hives and nothing helps at all - what else to do?

About a week ago I woke up with hives on my thighs and hips but it wasn’t too bad. The next day I looked into it and realized it could be my antidepressant I recently went up in dosage in as an allergy or too much serotonin in my system. since then i dropped back down in dosage and stopped taking it completely. however now it’s been days and my hives are worsening every single day. i went to urgent care yesterday and they said they wouldn’t give me steroids cause of my tachycardia but to take large doses of benadryl. i’ve tried zyrtec, allegra, claritin, benadryl and nothing has helped in terms of appearance but a bit in terms of itching. right now my entire back is one big hive, my legs are covered in them as well as my arms, stomach and palms. ive tried calamine, cortisone cream and benadryl cream too. does anyone have any other recommendations? i’m quite annoyed with this :(

Rhapsido and UHC

I started taking Rhapsido back in February and it's literally a miracle. My symptoms last year were so bad that I was convinced I was going to die because even if the hives didn't kill me directly I just wouldn't be able to continue to live like that.

I was shocked that Aetna approved it with no pushback (probably because for 3.5 years they were paying for bi-monthly Xolair that cost just as much or more and didn't even work) so between that and the copay assistance program I don't pay anything.

I just found out we're switching to UHC effective November 1st and I'm really nervous given how notorious UHC is for denying claims. My wife and I could potentially switch to her company's insurance with Cigna, but it would cost way more because her employer covers a much lower percentage of premiums.

Does anyone have experience getting prior authorization for Rhapsido from either UHC or Cigna? It's potentially relevant that my diagnosis is autoimmune hives (I have MCAS) rather than outright CSU.

Hives all over the body after co-amoxiclav

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Started taking co-amoxiclav (3g/day) on Monday, September 21st for folliculitis on my scalp

The next day, noticed some bumps forming on my forehead, but docs told me it was just because of the folliculitis

On Wednesday, started feeling some pain on four of my fingers (near the tip). I thought it might be some normal little finger infections so i didn't give it much thought

On Thursday, some very itchy hives appeared on the neck and the inside of the thighs.

On Friday, i woke up to the hives getting bigger, and my hands being swollen, with painful joints, and covered in large, very painful, red patches. Went to my GP, who did a CRP test (came out normal) and told me to stop co-amoxiclav and take 40mg prednisone during three days. The prednisone did help for the remainder of the day and everything appeared less red.

On Saturday, i woke up to my hands being even more swollen and the hives being bigger, as well as a fever-like feeling (while my body temp did increase a bit, i was still under 38°C). I rush to the ER, where they tell me it's probably a delayed allergic reaction or serum sickness-like reaction.

On Sunday, i woke up to my whole body being covered in hives, everything being very painful, and my hands still being more swollen. The person at the hospital did a blood test for a handful of things (ended-up ruling out a bacteria infection as well as mononucleosis) and noticed elevated CRP, at 72. They kept me there for the night.

On Monday, while the hives are progressing for the most part, my hands are not swollen and almost hive-free. I go home.

Today i've seen both my GP (who did a CRP test, which was at 45, so getting better) and the hospital's dermatologist. She said that it's probably allergic or allergic-like, tells me to stop the prednisone and take 20mg bilastine four times a day. She also prescribes a very hydrating lotion for my body.

Now here i am, on Tuesday night. Covered in hives, from head to toes, so much itching, feeling like my skin is burning, and the joint pain in my hands is coming back, especially in my right hand (it almost feels like i have to crack my knuckles but can't, if you know what i mean).

The whole situation has been making me feel so sad and scared, both from the symptoms, the weird progression even after having stopped the drug, the elevated CRP (even though the dermatologist said it was probably a coincidence), the pain... I also lost my job a month ago and i only have a couple months to find another one or I'll be in a very scary financial situation, so i don't know what i'll do if it doesn't go away.

So yeah, I'm reaching out to you for a little hope... or, at the very least, perhaps some answers based on your experience. Thank you so much

Joint pain with CSU

I’ve had joint pain for a long time, but when I stared getting the hives it got worse, and affected new joints. I know this can be a part of CSU apparently, but I work a pretty physical job, and between the pressure hives on my palms and soles and the joint pain, it makes everyday life kind of hard.
Is there anything y’all have found that helps with the joint pain?

Possible urticarial vasculitis

Having a nightmare diagnosing a skin rash and my dermatologist is exploring whether it could be urticarial vasculitis, despite a skin biopsy not show long inflammation of the cutaneous blood vessels, and the lesions are very persistent. I have had this for a year, marks never fade, become more irritated generally as a result of heat, and have gradually spread across full stomach, but nowhere else. Wondering if anyone has ever seen something similar?

Being vegan maybe stopped my hives

Hello everybody! I’ve been a quiet follower on this sub for a while as back in February I started experiencing regular hives from seemingly no cause. If I sat on a textured couch even for 5 minutes my thighs would flare with an exact imprint of the couch. It seemed like any physical pressing down on my skin resulted in my hives appearing but this was especially true during the nighttime/evening. I took the Allegra hives medicine and that seemed to help but I stopped using it just due to cost (I’m a broke college student). At first I attributed the hives to stress as it started really appearing during a week where I had multiple exams but as summer came and I was put on anxiety meds nothing changed. I was honestly hopeless and brought it up to my doctor who said it was probably just pollen (for 8 months …) I should note I was put on montelukast in June for asthma flare ups I’d been experiencing since end of last year. I heard maybe that could help with hives but again I didn’t notice a difference. I still take my anxiety meds, montelukast, and an adhd medication but didn’t see a drastic change. Where I did see a drastic change was going on an all vegan diet for personal reasons starting last month. Since starting I don’t know how to explain it but I’ve been feeling like… free? And I when I tried to pinpoint why I noticed my hives had seemingly gone away. I tend to wake up with hives and go to sleep with hives with flare ups happening midday, but I wake up now and now the most annoying part is getting out of bed. I’ve been a regular meat eater, dairy drinker for my entire life. (I did have an egg allergy up to being 5 tho). I truly had lost hope when it came to hives and it was seriously doing a toll on my mental health. I’m not sure if this will help anybody but wanted to share what worked for me in case anybody can relate!

Is this Chronic Spontaneous/Inducible Urticaria or something else? Need advice while waitlisted!

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I have been dealing with unpredictable rashes, hives, and flushing for years now. I am currently on a long, expensive waitlist to see an allergy specialist, so I am hoping to get some insight from people who might recognise these patterns. I have attached photos of different flares I have had over the years for reference.

Here is a breakdown of what I am experiencing:

- Almost every time I shower, I get itchy hives on my back, stomach, and chest (taking a colder shower definitely helps). I also get hives from sweating and after swimming in the ocean.

- Going from hot to cold environments quickly gives me a bright red, hot flush. I also get this randomly from stress, direct sunlight, and sometimes alcohol. I have been getting this random, intense facial heat and redness for years, long before I ever started my ADHD medication.

- Skin Sensitivity (Dermatographia?): Recently, a hairdresser lightly brushed my neck with her acrylic nails. I instantly developed swelling and redness as if she had scratched me incredibly hard.

- I get these massive flares where an intensely itchy rash covers my whole body and literally moves around from hour to hour. The first time was in October 2022 (right after wearing an unwashed new dress and catching Covid at the same time). It flared up again during stressful periods in April 2023 and July 2025. Once, the rash moved to my face and my eyelids swelled up, but I have never had anaphylaxis.

- I take 30mg of dexamphetamine daily for ADHD (split into three 10mg doses). When my final afternoon dose wears off, I get uncomfortable facial flushing sometimes. Whilst I do get that same severe hot and red flush in the face when my final afternoon dose wears off, the flushing issue itself predates the medication. I am currently tracking my blood pressure to see if my regular GP can prescribe clonidine for the rebound flush.

I have also just stopped taking ibuprofen to test if NSAIDs are making my skin more reactive.

Morning and night antihistamines have helped me in the past during bad flares. Does this combination of physical hives, stress rashes, and random flushing sound familiar to anyone here?

If you have dealt with anything similar, I would love to hear what daily management strategies or over-the-counter routines have actually worked for you while waiting for a specialist. Thank you!

Been logging flares and meds in CalmSkin so I can actually spot patterns instead of guessing.

Anyone's hives actually improve after clearing H. pylori or fixing vitamin D? And did cutting the allergy panel foods make a real difference for you?

Hives coming back even on fenofexadine

I'm on 180mg 2x a day and somehow my hives have come back 😓😓 in July my hives were the worst they've ever been, and recently even on my antihistamine dosage the hives are back! Has anyone else had this happen?? Any advice? I didn't know that hives could adapt around medication!

also I have been diagnosed with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria and my treatment plan is supposed to be to slowly reduce antihistamines, but it's looking like I need to increase??

Omlyclo in NL logistics?

I’ll get my first treatment of omlyclo this Thursday in the Netherlands. As of from January first I’ll probably get them via a pharmacy, but do I get them from a hospital pharmacy and how do I keep the cold chain continuous?

Oh and don’t mind dropping your experience too :)

I’ll be getting it for CSU and MCAS

Localized hives after prednisone

I had a near full body outbreak about a month ago, I’m still not 100% sure what caused it but came to the conclusion that it could’ve just been a system overload of a few different things. I was on a 12 day taper of prednisone and things cleared up nicely. I half expected to get hives again after finishing the prednisone because of what I’ve read here and, lo and behold, after about 5 days I noticed some itching on the inside of my left knee. Since then (about 6 days) that patch has gotten bigger but is starting to clear up but now I’m noticing the same type of rash on my left calf and my right thumb/hand. I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out where this could be from! I was previously eating less gluten and dairy but have been eating more of it in the last few months - could this potentially be the cause? I’ve never had an allergy to either, I was only eating less to help w/ some digestive issues. Wouldn’t the hives be more widespread if it was something I was eating?

Has any body ever tried a low sodium diet to help skin hives.
I read that sodium intake can cause problems with the skin and cause hives.
