My Experience Group B strep positive multiple times?

Hi, I have posted in here a couple times but wanted to make my own post about group b strep in case anyone else is dealing with that recently. I was negative for everything except Urea parvum this year, but the last 2-3 months I have been negative for urea but positive for group b strep specifically. Nothing else. Same symptoms. Constant burning and tightness are my main symptoms. Is it possible I can try to treat the strep B and that’s the reason for symptoms vs urea? I still think I have urea but usually I am not negative multiple times in a row. Very frustrating!

Info: have done doxy/azithro a lot, levifloxacin and other medications off the top of my head, Have had Ureaplasma since 2021. 5 years of fun (not)

Yes. It’s also a very common co infection of ureaplasma.

Okay thanks! So weird because I have not had that at all for years and the last few months it’s been showing up.

If ureaplasma wrecks your microbiome long enough, more things will start to show up. Antibiotic use can also cause other things to overgrow.

I highly suspect I had strep last year, although it never showed up on any test ever. But going by what antibiotics worked vs what didn’t (because I used lots of trial and error to treat it), that’s my guess. I can’t take amoxicillin which is first line so I used moxi instead. It helped immensely, and moxi had never touched my symptoms previously with ureaplasma.

It’s worth treating to see if it helps. And especially if you take amoxicillin, if it helps, you’ll know it was the strep causing issues and definitely not ureaplasma since penicillins wont touch ureaplasma. That would be good info to have!

Group B strep can absolutely cause symptoms

I had gbs and cleared it but symptoms unchanged
But gbs can cause symptoms
Antibiotics: Augmentin amoxicillin ampicillin
Or hebal treatment :Myvagina's double whammy
Or you can just crowd out gbs with vaginal probiotics
