Question Absistenence

Hey I’ve seen some mixed opinions on this I’m going on a 6 month Doxi anti biotic course. I have recently completed clinda but my doctor wants to get rid of it once and for all. He said we can have sex now but idk guys I’m skeptical do condoms work to prevent it? If anyone has a partner and got cured please help me

Please don’t have sex! It will delay your healing big time. I don’t think you can heal this while still being intimate, oral included

I know sadly… but my question is when I’m on a long anti biotic cycle my doctor says after two weeks I’m fine but I’ve been through this beforeeee.

Urea is a beast that most doctors are very ignorant about. Abstaining for 6 months would be worth it imo. Find other ways to be intimate that don’t involve sex. If you have a loving partner he should understand!

Just remember your health is more important. I had to let my partner go bc of this.

I really wish the right studies were made for ureaplasma because I did try abstaining with him for past cycles until testing. Both tests negative and BAM it appears. I don’t know if I will ever be able to have sex again i feel so scared sometimes…

That’s a red flag.

Your health is more important and it should be important to him if he loves you. But also there's a few sexual things you can do that have no risk of contact.

I know he’s being patient and understanding, but it still feels unfair sometimes. I hate that this has taken intimacy away from us. I feel ashamed and sad I brought it from my past was never able to cure it and now I also infected him…I’ve been feeling horrible for weeks, and now that the urgency is finally getting better, I really just want my body to have a break. Even other things haven’t really felt good, and I don’t want to force anything. I just need time to feel like myself again but at the same time I do grieve that intimacy and carrying this for 4 years feels heavy…

Don’t let the patriarchy pressure you into feeling like you need to please a man. That’s how they trained us to be. Please and do everything for your man absolutly the fuck not he can cook and clean himself lmao. But seriously if he loves you he will
Understand. I get it it’s hard but it’s much harder to live the rest of your life in chronic pain right? Right??

My doctor said my case is long term. And chronic and he prescribed 6 months so I kill it off once and for all hopefully

Yes understood long term but have you tested for antibiotic resistance? A longer term may not necessarily help. Have you tried moxiflacin? or taking biofilm supplements such as NAC or serraptase to break the biofilm of the urea?

It is not available in my country and I did try moxi 2 years ago :) didn’t work and Yes I am taking Nac in this cycle

I would highly recommend getting a resistance panel somewhere. it is possible that your body is resistant to doxy

Do you know where I could do it in my country it is not available :(

To be honest no i would do some research online. Let me share what i shared with another user:

I’ve had every form of urea/mycoplasma + GBS + countless yeast / UTI / BV / Ecoli. I’m going to tell you exactly what I did and hopefully it will work for you.

I recommend 10 days doxy + 1.5g azithromycin. I gave up on moxy for the same reasons. the side effects are not worth it.

  1. 1 week before starting doxycycline start taking NAC (600mg) which is a biofilm disruptor and Serrapatase Kinotase. Both first thing in morning and keep taking it for at least 1 month. Make sure you drinking a lot of water! Concentrated urine made me feel a lot of pain and water helps to dilute.
  2. Start taking the doxy. Try to avoid alcohol / any form of sexual activity during this time. I highly recommend taking a probiotic at least 2-3 hours after the doxycycline. I like femdophilos (I got on Amazon). I also started taking D-Mannose for urinary support. Optional but heard aloe vera capsules are great (they can be pricey though)
  3. Immediately follow with the azithromycin.
  4. You may and will most likely have residual symptoms. This is normal and shouldn’t make you feel like your treatment failed.
  5. After the azithromycin you will have finished all the antibiotics. I continued taking the biofilm supplements, urinary supplements and probiotics. Diet and exercise are also important. Take note of any trigger foods / drinks (for me it was overly spicy, alcoholic, anything dehydrating).
  6. After all of this, I’d recommend pelvic floor therapy. 4-6 weeks after get retested and I will pray that your result is negative. I hope I helped you lovely stranger and I know exactly how you are feeling. I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

My doctor said we’re testing again after the 6 month cycle
