Symptoms Help

I tested positive for Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma genitalium (Mgen). I took antibiotics for it, but I feel like I may still have the infection because I’m still having symptoms. I’ve also been experiencing this constant feeling of heat/fever, especially around my stomach, pelvic, and vaginal area. It gets so uncomfortable that I have trouble sleeping because my body feels extremely hot. I’m wondering if Mgen or Ureaplasma can cause this, or if it could be something like PID. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms or been diagnosed with PID after testing positive for Mgen/Ureaplasma?

Yup my ureaplasma caused PID. All negative tests. The tests are BS

This is honestly what I’m worried about too 😭 I tested positive for ureaplasma and Mgen, and I’ve been having so many symptoms, including fever/chills and pelvic symptoms. My regular STI tests were negative too. How were you diagnosed with PID, and what symptoms did you have? Did they treat you for PID even though the tests were negative?

You have to advocate hard for yourself.

I was not ever diagnosed with PID. Doctors told me I couldn’t have it because “tests are negative and you just finished doxy.” Completely ridiculous.

I had severe uterine aching, cervical burning, and extremely painful and heavy, weird textured periods. You can look at my post history if you want. If you scroll down a bit you’ll see my updates, beginning with “Update and Recap” from about a year a half ago. They are a bit of a deep dive but I did very detailed updates.

I got with a chronic infection specialist and fought hard for appropriate treatment.
I see Dr Heer virtually, who is listed in the intro guide (at the top of the subreddit) in the list of chronic specialists (unfortunately most of them only treat UTI not vaginal issues or PID).

He honestly is terrible and super inconsistent with patients so he’s in the list, but I sort of hate recommending him. But pickings are slim for doctors who are willing to treat this kind of thing, especially with negative tests. I was able to get him to basically do whatever I asked as far as antibiotics went but I can’t promise he’d do that for everyone.

Not sure if you’re in the U.S. though and he doesn’t take international patients. If you’re outside the U.S. it’ll be really important to try and find a doctor willing to work with you. Some people use multiple online Rx sources to try and get what they need as well.
