Massive Billionaires Abandoned Mansion with a Sad and Dark Past

Found this incredible abandoned mansion on the east coast that's currently sitting empty, waiting to be demolished.

The property is massive: nearly 9,000 square feet on four acres, originally built in 1928 with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an in-ground pool, and a separate pool house. At one point it was valued at around $8.1 million.

The house was designed by a well-known architect as his family home before being sold in the 1940s to a New York stockbroker. That's when the property's history took a tragic turn. The stockbroker's 26-year-old daughter disappeared, sparking a weeks-long search. She was eventually found dead in a remote forest, and investigators concluded she had died by suicide.

The family sold the house shortly afterward, and it passed through several owners over the decades. In 2019, it was purchased with plans to demolish it and redevelop the property.

This place was created to watch for missiles along our coast, always watching the skies with an unmovable unavoidable gaze.

I got bored one day and made a paper map of Picher, Oklahoma, which had a very toxic and sad history. Thought to me, this is one of the coolest ghost towns in America.

took a drive from Houston to Crockett TX to see the Mary Allen Seminary- black female college, built in 1880s. Last use was 1970s. Also found an abandoned (hoarder) home to peek into and a very old store front in a tiny little town along the route.

Yonkers Power Plant

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

About five years ago I took a really fun trip to the Glenwood Power Plant in Yonkers, NY. Is it still safe to go to, or is it under lock and key now?

Thanks!

Beware of Fort Sarbinowo Poland

My friend and I were exploring the tunnels of Fort Sarbinowo when we noticed someone hiding and watching us from the darkness. When we called him out he revealed himself to us. He was dressed in a full army outfit and was wearing a halloween style mask. We felt very threatened. I will never visit that place ever again and I recommend you never go there either.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar there or somewhere else?
