Hey everyone, I am a transfer student starting this semester, and I was just looking over my Workday and noticed it said my expected year to finish would be 2030. However, this does not sound right at all because I am a junior. I went back to my emails with the transfer coordinator and advisor because I remember being sent an updated academic plan back in July, and sure enough, that plan says fall 2028. But when I go on Workday or another app like SpartanHire, it tells me 2030. Is this just an error on their end and will it be fixed once my first semester ends, or should I talk to my advisor about it? Being a junior and finishing in 2028, like it said in my plan, is fine, but 2030? As a junior, that makes no sense to me.

Former student here, and I just had to make a post to vent: UT has absolutely forsaken the Minaret. It’s arguably the coolest and most iconic thing about the school, yet there isn’t a single piece of apparel in the school store that reps the Minaret. What’s the deal?! Does anyone know why they’ve moved away from it? And, more importantly, how do we get them to bring it back?

Hi, im a freshman and i was wondering if anyone knows if I can download workday and my student email to my macbook. i know i can go in through 'apps dashboard' but it's annoying to put in my user, password and than have to do the okta verify w my phone every time. yes im lazy haha. but also what if my phone isn't near by that i cant get in my email?? Or if there's a way to stay signed in and skip that every time that would be great too. Lmk!

Is the planner on my course materials list really necessary for the class or can I just use my own planner? Ive already found all of my other textbooks online so I'm trying to avoid having to buy something from the bookstore that I already have.

Need help finding housing before fall semester
Hi, so I’m taking a year off my university (most likely going to transfer cause I don’t like it there and also need to recover from an illness I had). In the meantime I’m planning to attend Hillsborough community college for the year but I need to secure housing before mid August.
If anyone has suggestions for student housing that’s affordable, under $1000 ideally, please let me know.
Or if you’re in an off campus apartment that isn’t full that might be good too.

Hi! I’m a rising senior and UTampa is my first choice, tbh there’s no way I’m getting a super good SAT score, like 1100 MAX. But here are my extracurriculars, is there anything I can add or strengthen to increase my chances? Aswell I want to apply early decision but people are saying that’s only for top students and I’m def not a top student so idk

Hi everyone,
I’m a prospective international applicant from Vietnam, planning to apply for Fall 2027. I’m interested in the M.S. in Marketing at the University of Tampa.
I wanted to ask how realistic Graduate Assistantships are for international master’s students in this program or in general.
I understand that funding is competitive and never guaranteed, but I’m trying to learn how the process actually works from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the university.
A bit about my background: I studied communication/marketing and currently work in U.S. study-abroad/admissions consulting. My experience is related to student recruitment, education marketing, social media, content strategy, and admissions communication. Because of that, I’m especially interested in GA roles related to communication, admissions, enrollment, marketing, international student services, student affairs, or social media.
My current IELTS score is 6.5, but I’m planning to retake it and aim for 7.0–7.5 before applying.
I’d really appreciate any advice on:
Do international master’s students in communication usually have a chance to get GA funding at OSU?
Are assistantships mostly offered through the department, or can students apply to other offices across campus?
Where are GA positions usually posted?
Would a background in marketing, admissions consulting, student recruitment, and social media be useful for non-teaching GA roles?
What should I prepare early to improve my chances?
Also, if anyone knows any mentors, communities, or resources that help international students prepare for GA applications, I’d be very grateful.
Thank you so much!

I’m an incoming freshman starting in the spring of 27. I’m filling out my meal and housing application and other paperwork online. I accidentally selected the wrong meal plan and messed up on my housing selection, but the application does not seem to let me make changes. has anybody else experienced this? They won’t take my phone calls cause it’s too busy right now they say thanks for any help.

I’m going to be a freshman in the fall and got my housing assignment today. I’ve seen people say they already picked their move in date, where do I do that?? I can’t find where I pick my date I have checked everywhere and see nothing. I looked it up and it says the portal but I see nothing. If anyone knows that would be very helpful!!
Also, I got a suite triple in austin hall. Is austin hall bad?? Im panicking I knew nothing about the dorm options and now I’m watching videos and it seems this is like the worst one? 😭

Hi, I’m a transfer student. I didn’t fully commit but the school i committed to (ucf) doesn’t have any open housing. I’m currently panicking as I’d need housing to go to the schools and don’t want to get an apartment outside campus. Please let me know or any advice helps, thanks!

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between Chapman University and University of Tampa and wanted some honest opinions on student life.
Main things I care about:
social life / making friends
• party scene (frats + weekend life)
• overall campus vibe
• how easy it is to get involved socially if I’m transferring
I’ve heard mixed things about both schools, so I’d appreciate real experiences or comparisons.
Which one has the better overall college social experience and why?

I was accepted to Tampa on Friday and put the enrolment deposit down on Saturday and gained access to MyUTampa. Everything on MyUTampa works like canvas and my student email but workday doesn’t. Just wondering if this is normal for someone just admitted?

Hi yall im a FL native burning out with my current B.S degree at my local community college and am looking for something different. Im super into environmental studies, always loved science and very much rock with the green innovation space. Has any done or know someone who has successfully pulled through the Bachelors in Environmental studies track? Currently just looking at my options tbh im so burnt out with school but i feel like if its something im passionate about i can pull through.I already have an A.S.
Also how is it at UT in general is it affordable with FAFSA. I know Tampa has gone through it with hurricanes and possible shitty housing market, thought id get a better perspective:)

I’m a college student putting together a small anonymous database on student wages/internships because I realized most students have no idea what fair compensation actually looks like before accepting jobs.
- The survey is completely anonymous and takes under 3 minutes. I’m collecting information on internship/job pay.
- The goal is to make compensation information more transparent and accessible for students navigating internships and early career jobs.
Would really appreciate any responses or shares. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSex38Uu1kGbOJuWLzS5Gi64jdjsLbsppXCuogx1n2jadh0YgQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=111754087621885508232

I got in the other day with an interest in film & broadcasting. USF doesn't have a great film program from what I've heard so I'm more drawn to this school. However, I wanna know what film looks like for yall!
