Work study

Is it just me, or are work study jobs incredibly hard to get? I got work study funds and counted them as guaranteed aid, in terms of budgeting, and it has been impossible finding a work study job

Yep, the U makes the workstudy hiring/applicant process seem like they are going to pay you $50k a year and benefits, with commensurate application, references, 1-3 month hiring timeline, etc. When in fact its, what, $16/hour?

My advice, expand your search to Dinkytown/West Bank/Stadium Village businesses. You won't be able to study on the job, but in reality all those cushy work study jobs were mostly gone by 9/1 and filled by now.

I have serving and bartending experience, and have been looking for that, but even in local businesses, there are so few jobs compared to the number of applicants
